March 16, 200817 yr Excellent race today, errors, crashes, safety cars, overtaking, 4 different teams making up the top 4, if the season is anything like todays race it'll be excellent! :D No doubt Vic will say it's all a consipricy and that it was the ECU system's fault. Ferarri were just $h!te, both drivers made two rookie errors today and didn't deserve anything from the race.

Ferarri were just $h!te, both drivers made two rookie errors today and didn't deserve anything from the race. tbf to Kimi he was always playing catch up due to circumstances beyond his control in qualifying so had to take a lot more risks than usual hence almost harpooning Rubens a couple of times too, he had to take a lot of risks to get past people , Hamilton had the luxury of a lapdog all afternoon, Kimi had to take massive risks so always more chance of some not coming off And the outbreaking himself with Heikki wasn't his fault either, because of incompetent strategy with the safety car and not changing tyres Kimi's tyres were shot to pieces to that is why he went off like that as opposed to anything he personally did, he just had no grip Really can't work out why Ferrari didn't pit Kimi under the safety car :manson: I really think that Ferrari left strategy to a kid on work experience or something

March 22, 200817 yr A great qualifying session for Ferrari & a disaster for McLaren, who must be praying for rain tomorrow. I wonder what price I can get on Alonso to take Hamilton out of the race on the first lap?
March 23, 200817 yr Malaysian Grand PrixSepang, 21-23 March 2008 ReportCommentary Qualifying Friday practice Circuit guide By Andrew Benson Raikkonen is right back in the title battle after his win World champion Kimi Raikkonen kicked his title defence into life with victory in the Malaysian Grand Prix. The Finn passed his Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa thanks to a stunning lap before his first pit stop, after which he dominated the race. Massa spun out of second place, gifting it to BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica, with Heikki Kovalainen's McLaren third. McLaren's Lewis Hamilton was held up in his charge from ninth on the grid by a pit-stop problem and ended up fifth. That was one place behind the impressive Toyota of Jarno Trulli, who had battled for third with Kovalainen, only for the Italian to drop back with an earlier final pit stop. Mark Webber's Red Bull headed Hamilton for much of the race but the Australian was leapfrogged at the final pit stops by the Englishman and Nick Heidfeld's BMW Sauber. The great thing is I was able to drive the race without water and I feel better than I did last year Lewis Hamilton Heidfeld took sixth place, ahead of Webber, who held off a late charge from double world champion Fernando Alonso's Renault. With the four points for fifth added to his 10 for winning the first race in Australia a week ago, Hamilton retains the championship lead. But Raikkonen is now just three points behind him, and the scene looks set for the intense battle between the two men that was widely predicted before the season. The Finn buried memories of a chaotic start to the season in Melbourne with a drive befitting a champion. He qualified second to Massa, with a lap's more fuel on board, and, after pulling out of an attempt to pass him on the run down to the first corner, he tracked the Brazilian closely until he made his first stop on lap 17. Kubica drove an impressive, unobtrusive race to second Raikkonen then put the hammer down, setting fastest times for each corner of the lap before coming in for his own stop. His on-the-limit lap was just enough to ensure he emerged from the pits in front of Massa. And once in the lead, Raikkonen edged ever further ahead of the second Ferrari to make the race his own. Raikkonen said: "I got alongside Felipe after I got a bit better start but I thought we don't want to risk between the team-mates in the first corner, and I decided to stay behind and try my move on the first stop and it worked out perfectly. "We were pretty similar speed-wise, but once he went in my car went better and I was able to go much quicker on my in-lap and pass him. "After that the car was handling perfectly and I was able to go away. 606: DEBATE Let us know what you think "We still have some difficulties to get qualifying right. The car usually is much stronger in the race then the qualifying." Massa then spun away his chances of second place with an unforced error that left him beached in the gravel trap at turn eight. Behind the Ferraris, Kubica had a lonely race, not fast enough to challenge the red cars, but well ahead of the rest on his way to the best result of his career. For a while early in the race it appeared that Hamilton might challenge the Pole for the final podium spot. The Englishman leaped up from ninth on the grid, to where he was demoted for holding up Heidfeld in qualifying, to finish the first lap in fifth place with some clever overtaking. He then tracked Webber until the Red Bull pitted on lap 16, but Hamilton's hopes of leapfrogging the Australian in the pits were dashed when his mechanics struggled to get his right-front wheel off. Hamilton had a trying afternoon and lost out to Trulli That delayed Hamilton by about 12 seconds, and he found himself behind Webber again. Hamilton finally got past into fifth when Webber made his final stop on lap 40 but, although he closed in on Trulli, he was unable to pass the Toyota on the final lap. "We got off to a very, very good start from ninth to fifth and I was pushing Mark for a long time but it is always hard when you are behind someone and he drove fantastically well," Hamilton said. "The wheel gun at the pit stop [also affected me]. [And] I was very thirsty as my water wasn't working. "I pushed hard for fourth but Jarno did a great job. "The great thing is I was able to drive the race without water and I feel better than I did last year but we just have to do a better job in qualifying at the next race." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Provisional results of the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix at Sepang: 1. March 25, 200817 yr I'd like to take the time to call Fernando Alonso a c**t. Thankyou. Yes, I wonder what all those Renault fans feel about him heavily hinting about shafting the team for Ferrari.... Tuesday, 25 March 2008, 10:03 GMT I could quit Renault, says Alonso BBC Sports News Fernando Alonso has said he can leave Renault at the end of this season. The double champion, who returned to the team after a stormy year with McLaren, has had a disappointing start to the season in an uncompetitive car. "I'm at Renault because I wanted to get back to winning, like in 2005 and 2006, if not this year then next year," Alonso told Spanish newspaper As. "But I have an option to leave so I can be in the best possible car, and it is clear Ferrari is one of the best." When Alonso signed for Renault last winter, there was widespread speculation that he would only stay for one year before joining world champions Ferrari for 2009. And his comments seem to confirm suspicions that the Spaniard does indeed have a break clause in his contract that would allow him to leave after just one year. Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo is known to regard Alonso highly. But the Italian team already have world champion Kimi Raikkonen and team-mate Felipe Massa under contract for 2009. Signing Alonso would involve finding a way to curtail Massa's contract, which runs until the end of 2010. But Alonso cooled speculation linking him to Ferrari, saying it was inevitable following a poor start to the season by Massa, who has retired from both races following driver errors. "It's early to talk about moves and rumours, but Massa has had two bad races with mistakes and that has kicked off speculation," Alonso said. "It's logical, but it's too early." The 26-year-old has admitted after Renault's poor start to the season that he has no chance of battling with McLaren and Ferrari. "It was more or less as we expected," said Alonso, who was fourth in the chaotic season opener in Australia. "We knew that finishing in the top eight was going to be difficult and if it hadn't been for Massa's retirement we wouldn't have made it. "That's the reality and that's what the situation is like, it was no surprise. In a normal race, with no retirements, we were ninth in qualifying and eighth in the race. "Before Barcelona [for the Spanish Grand Prix on April 27] we will have some improvements for the car, [but] the same ones all teams will make, so the championship is going to stay more or less the same. "We saw it last year and we see it every year. The cars that win the first two or three races stay on top. We are not going to see big surprises during the year."
March 25, 200817 yr Whoever wrote that article was clearly either drunk or needs to be checked for alzheimers, there is as much chance of Ferrari having Kimi and Alonso as team mates as there is me being the next pope. Ferrari was absolutely ripped apart by internal strife when Prost and Mansell were team mates and didn't get on, LDM vowed after Prost / Mansell that he would never have 2 strong drivers in the same team again hence why over the years we have seen Schumacher and now Kimi with weak team mates and even in the mid 90's there was not 2 superstar drivers, it is not the Ferrari way 2 superstars in the same team is a recipe for disaster and Ferrari know that and Alonso / Hamilton and before that Mansell / Prost, Raikkonen / Montoya and so on has proved it If Alonso joined Ferrari it would be at the expense of KIMI not Massa

If he can cope with Hamilton then christ knows how much of a cry baby he'll be with a team mate that actually has talent. and at this point i'd like to congratulate kovvy for kick that little c**ts arse on sunday. Just proved what i said all along last year. put kovvy in Hamilton's car, and he'll beat the arrogant SOB. But the dick in a Renault and watch him get lapped. -_-

As for the race, but even though Kovvy was ahead of him on the grid, Hamilton had the better start and was comfortably ahead of Kovvy when a pitstop problem with a locked wheel nut meant an 8 second stop took 26 seconds, therefore costing him 18 seconds and effectively lost him 4 places in the race after pit stops. Seeing how Kovvy only finished just 8 seconds ahead of Hamilton at the end of the race which Lewis spent two thirds off suck behind Webber then your comments are incorrect as well as stupid as if the wheel nut problem did not occur then Hamilton would have comfortably finished 3rd.

Whatever your personal opinions on Hamilton are to say that is completely moronic. No, I don't hate him for that, but for after only two races he's already talking about leaving. He's a complete idiot, he can't take losing, he can't face the thought of people being better than him and he makes Ashley Cole seem like one of the most loyal people in sport. Two races in and he's already confirming he'll be interested in moving at the end of the year, Renault are better off without him. I really hope that they drop him at the end of the season for someone else who actually really wants to be there. What exaclty does he expect it'll gain him? I can't see him in a Ferrari, Massa complements Kimi briliantly, he's not as good, but he's good enough. I don't think he'll leave and if he does I don't think it'll be FA that replaces him. McLaren wouldn't tocuh him with a barge pole and I don't think BMW would want him either, they have two fantastic drivers already and have Vettel contracted too. That leaves him with Ranault as his best option, unless he honestly thinks anyone else would give him a significantly better car!

Well said, Hamilton spent the majority of the race behind a slower car, when he got past him he showed his true pace and managed to catch right up to Jarno Trulli, the same driver who Kovy struggled to pull away from. An 8 second gap is quite frankly embarassing for Kovy after that race considering how easy he had it!

Excuse me! How dare you accuse me of Racism :o Whether Hamilton was black, white, latin, asian or fukking purple i still think he's a t***. I'm not fussed about his CV, he has been incredibly lucky in F1 coz of his team. There would be less raving about him if he was in a super aguri or a force india. Its just coz of his car that he gets all his attention. and as for Alonso leaving, a spanish tabloid printed the rumours, he himself has curtailed the rumours -_-
March 27, 200817 yr Anyone doubting his ability I would suggest should watch the episode of Top Gear which he appeared in (it's bound to be on youtube) where in the same Chevrolet Lessetti he posted exactly the same time round their track than Jensun Button and was 0.2 seconds slower than Nigel Mansell. This may not seem like an achievement but Hamilton's lap was in the wet, and the other two did it in the dry. Whatever your opinions of Hamilton as a person (myself, I can take him or leave him, he's ok but he's no where near being my favourite and I prefer DC to him as far as the Brits go) but you seriously cannot deny he is a fantastic driver. He will be a World Champion, so what if he's in the best car, Michael Schumacher won most of his Championships in a car that was far superior to even its nearest competitor but I don't see too many people doubt his driving ability (he may have been a cheating c**t at times and I hated him but he was still fantastic).
March 30, 200817 yr Has anybody read today's News Of The World.... It appears that "Mad" Max Mosley seems to have done the impossible and dragged the family's name even lower then it was before thanks to his Dad Oswald. You can't have a Nazi sympathiser or one who fantasises about Nazi/concentration camp scenarios running an international sport like F1. I wouldn't want to shake his hand any more. ;) I wonder how many (Ferrari fans & McLaren/Lewis Hamilton haters) will be defending him and saying it is a "private matter". When someone is in such a high position commanding so much money and decision making, the private becomes public and so it should. If he isn't forced to step down now, I will have even LESS faith in the governing body of F1 than I did before and that wasn't much! The video on the News Of The World's website is there for all to see and I can tell you it is disgusting. But at the end of the day you can't have a now publicly outed Racist in charge of an organisation where it's biggest rising star is of Afro-Caribbean origin. Especially as any perceived criticism by Max towards Lewis Hamilton can now clearly be construed as racist based when it may well be genuinely fair. As they are discussing his position on BBC Radio 5Live now all those concerned think his position should be untenable as FIA President. But this is Formula 1 not the real world, so he will probably stay even though he is about as popular, palatable & welcome as Robert Mugabe is to the nation of Zimbabwe.
March 30, 200817 yr Saw that    I don't think he has done anything wrong, I don't think he should resign but he is going to be the butt of jokes and ridicule in the paddock forever now It really will be hard to keep a straight face when seeing him now

As a Jew I see no problem with this any more than I had a problem with Prince Harry wearing a uniform that time, I don't see how it affects Mosley's ability to do his job, he should have resigned years ago but on the grounds of incompetence not something totally legal that has happened in his private life If he was caught doing this in FIA offices or during work hours or the girls were paid out of FIA funds then it would be an issue but to me this is a total non story, highly amusing and embarrassing but as a jew I would have the right to be more offended than anyone but I just laughed at this This sort of thing with different variations goes on in millions of bedrooms across the country
