I think Melanie C aka Sporty Spice should give eurovison 2008 a run for its money, people know she was the only one that could really sing in the spice girls and over the past couple of years well 2005-2007 she has been quite big across europe including Spain, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Sweeden, Netherlands, Italy & Some moderate sucess in France. So we could have a chance of actually winning if she releases one of her great ballards

 

I did read somewhere that she said she would think about doing eurovison for us but not entering herself only if she was asked directly from the bbc or british public to be the one sent to eurovison and none of this going through tv voting, but has warned others of the backlash eurovision could have to their careers.

 

The only problem would be is that the spice girls tour finishes in america the end of febuary then they will be off to do argentina, australia, and asia but the tour should be finished in time for 2008 song contest final in serbia

I'd like it for a personal point of view - she'd huge in Europe, can sing and would write us a bloomin' great song.

 

But as a Mel fan, I'd hate for her to do it :lol: And I don't think she ever really would.

Yeah she is huge in Europe and an exceedingly talented and amazing lady, but Eurovision oh no. I love her and it'd be something I'd feel would taint her reputation almost, I don't think she'd ever ever agree to do it either.

I feel sorry for anyone given the 'chance' to do Eurovision now ... it has certainly become a poisoned chalice.

I agree, I think "This Time" was a great single and it only reached #94 here. I don't think you can get much more tainted than that. Well...Joss Stone's latest single is looking to miss the top 200 this week and I think it's great.

 

I think she'd be a good choice for us, I doubt she'd participate though. She should be called "Reluctant Spice", she almost didn't sign up for the tour.

Melanie is way too serious about her music to ever sign up for Eurovision. :lol: Europe would probably vote for her but it'd kill her UK career once and for all, so I don't see it happening. :P

Her UK career is effectively over anyway... that album/single which topped the German charts for weeks and went to the top all over Europe failed to even get a release here!

I don't doubt that she is good live, and she could do well....but there is not a hope in hell of getting Mel C to do it!

The album did. :mellow: It got Top 25 or so. The single didn't as the previous release had flopped at radio and had it's release cancelled. She has released both an album and three singles since then, though.

If this is true then she's a fool. She'd get more exposure in Europe (where she's already fairly big) because they, unlike us, take Eurovision quite seriously. And judging by the past two years could get a top 10 hit in the UK. Which isn't likely to happen any other way, is it?

I love mel c but cudnt see her doing it,however i think she is big in europe and eurovsiion would do great things for her in europe make her even bigger,in the uk it is a poisoned chalice but she has nothing to lose uk wise as her singles and last album havnt done well,if she did do eurovision she would at least get another big enough/highchrating single that might get a few album sales

as 4 me... :unsure: hmmm...i would like to c her there in Serbia or maybe a year later but that's so hardly believing to because mainly there r unknown before artists who win ESC...
