Friends and family are comforting heartbroken Lily Allen, who lost her baby last week. A close friend tells NOW that the tragic news has devistated her so much she can't stop crying. The 22-year-old's partner and family are rallying around her, but she can't escape the feeling that she's some how to blame. According to a friend, 'Lily said "I knew everything was going too well. This year has been so amazing that something had to go wrong." And she keeps saying: "I want my baby back." Ed hugs her and tells her that they'll have lots of children,' continues the friend 'but she asks: "Why have i messed up? Was it something i did wrong?"' Lily lost the baby on her return from a romantic holiday in the Maldives with boyfriend Ed Simons, 37, of the Chemical Brotheres. They met in september last year and announced that lily was pregnant two months later. The pregnancy changed Lily's outlook - she hoped having her own family would give her the stability she's always wanted. The news has been harder to bear because there are so many children in her family. The friend adds: ' Her dad Keith's had six children by four women and it never ocoured to Lily that having a kid wasn't going to be a dodle.' Doctor Carol Cooper warns that it can take time for a couple to get over a miscarrige. She adds: 'Women often blame themselves, but there is no obvious cause. It's a realy tough thing to deal with. Lily hasn't just lost a foetus, she's lost all the hopes and dreams she had for that child. It can bring a couple closer, but it can also put a strain on the relationship because the expectant father's grief tends to go unrecognised. It'd be a good idea now to contact The Miscarrige Association and not to try for another baby for three months.'
