The Arcs Across the City EP out at the end of last year was pretty damn good. Probably a little spiky to ever be very popular, but that's no doubt a good thing.

Stats:

According to my itunes and elsewhere, this band has 184 tracks from 30 digital releases / model ghosts / frisbees / bootlegs in less than 6 years. Last.fm tells me they've also garnered 1421 plays from me. My question is WHY does BJ take so little interest in them now?

A wonderful mess right there, with a disgracefully few 31 views.

I listened to an album of theirs once and it struck me as being like everything I ever wanted from Los Campesinos!. No idea why I haven't revisited it.

I'd say they're not at all similar anymore, although yes, they were once. Johnny Foreigner are still just pure fun, whereas Los Campesinos! seem to have drawn a lot from Xiu Xiu and the like, ending up sounding more like Wild Beasts with a wider variety of instruments on offer, and have gone more baroque in general.

Their respective debuts are great for similar reasons though, being that they're damn fun. Johnny Foreigner's differing in that the melodies are LUSH CHAOS, whereas LC! were fantastically blissful, with the novelty of glockenspiels and violins.

I know these bands too well.
