Lily Allen is on the verge of being inescapable - not because she has sold any records or toured (this was only her second-ever show), but because she has captured the media's attention as a MySpace phenomenon. Her page on the site, with its frothy weekly blog and jolts of mockney ska-pop, began attracting large numbers of visitors almost as soon as it was set up last autumn. Of late, the whole thing has snowballed, and Allen - daughter of comedian Keith - now finds herself the focus of great expectations without actually having done anything. It's not an enviable position - for every Arctic Monkeys, there are a dozen Gay Dads.

Article continues

There was a buzzy sense of occasion: this unventilated cellar was spilling over with doe-eyed girls who looked like her, and there were pink "Trilly Lily" cocktails at the bar. Trilly by name and trilly by nature, Allen had a chirpy way about her that rather undermined her attempt at urban edginess. There have been comparisons with Mike Skinner, mainly on the basis that her vignettes of fag-end London life share the same glass-half-empty perspective, but on stage she's too sweet to pull it off.

In her head, she's probably a cross between Lady Sovereign and ex-Sugababe Mutya, but a girl can only deny her middle-class provenance so much. She puffed a cigarette down to the filter and delivered opening song LDN with a "Who you lookin' at?" scowl, but eventually obeyed her inclination to smile. There was even a lilting cocktail-ska tune called Smile, which showed an aptitude for Norah Jonesy intimacy. It rang truer than LDN (which was both opener and encore, Allen admitting she had only rehearsed five songs), with its dispassionate tale of granny-mugging and council estates, and "Tesco/al fresco" rhyming. Will Allen make it big? If she's true to herself, perhaps she will. Her stabs at rude-girl style, though, sound like the soundtrack to a pillow-fight.

Ok so , I got a little bit upset earlier when I read this article, but in retrospect it makes me sad , not only cause it slags me off , but because it seems as if you can't win these days .

If you make music , as I and many others do , and want to share it with people , on something like this (myspace), people pick up on it and news spreads fast , theres nothing you can do to stop it , it's just the way things are these days . From my point of view , and the reason I am saddened by this article is because , people ( maybe of an older generation ) cannot differentiate between hype ( in the old school sense ) and genuine interest ( from genuine punters ) , maybe not record buyers but music lovers all the same . The passage I find particularly confusing , " Of late, the whole thing has snowballed, and Allen - daughter of comedian Keith - now finds herself the focus of great expectations without actually having done anything. It's not an enviable position - for every Arctic Monkeys, there are a dozen Gay Dads." is a good example of this , saying I have " done nothing " suggests that making an album , sharing it with you lot and gaining a fanbase ( 1,300,000 plays ) counts for f*** all , and that, I feel, is a little on the ignorant side . The Arctic Monkeys - Gay Dad comparison also seems strange to me , as the Arctic Monkeys(2005) sold records because they gained a huge fanbase from sites like myspace , and then went on to do well . Gay Dad (1999) flopped because they were hyped within the music industry and the music press/ tastemakers before playing gigs and gaining fans , we live in very different times now , we have the the internet and it is an amazing promotional tool , it saves money and time , and if people can't see that's very exciting , then I feel sorry for them .

The urban / mockney stuff upsets me , because I think it's mindless , I sing in an english accent for f***'s sake , I grew up in London ,and no, I don't come from Chelsea I come from Angel , yes , I grew up in a middle class family and I'm not trying to hide from it . I don't talk about pimps , crackwhores and grannies being mugged because I think it makes me cool , I talk about them from an observational perspective, and I do it as I think these are issues that should be talked about , and that I read about in The Evening Standard every day of the week . If I thought I was a mixture between Lady Sovereign and Mutya from the Sugababes , do you think I would waltz out on stage in a 250 quid white silk Marc Jacobs dress ?

Rant over , sorry .

Enjoying the ride .

Current mood: depressed

O.K , so now I'm freaked out , I'm really scared . I know I shouldn't complain because everything seems to be going so well for me , but this is not my doing , all I did was sign a deal , put up a few songs on myspace , and everyones gotten all excited , I on the other hand am $h!tting myself . I've been hyped so much , i feel f***ed . I feel like my live thing isn't living up to what people think it should , but I've only ever done two shows . People are giving me $h!t for being a mockney and denying my middle class roots , but the songs I sound mockney on I recorded when I was 18 and probably WAS pretending to be something I wasn't , the album gets progressively posher though , infact the last thing I redcorded I practically sound like camilla parker bowles on .Most of all , I feel like I'll be letting everyone down if I don't sell f*** loads of records , and that's not what I wen't into this for , it's meant to be fun , no ? I know take the highs with the lows and all that , but I'm on the rag , I have a huge spot on my chin and I feel like $h!t .

rushed blog

Current mood: dorky

Ok , so here we go again , it's been a crazy couple of weeks , i've done nuff interviews , had one terrible gig and one brilliant gig infact while i'm on that subject I think i'd better thank YoYo and The Notting Hell Arts Club for having me for the past month , I've had such a laugh and you've looked after me so well and made me feel so at home .

What else , oh yeah I was on the cover of Observer Music Monthly , which was weird ,I had been $h!tting myself about it for the whole week before it came out but I really enjoyed the end product , friends kept saying " if I didn't know you were such a t*** , I'd think you were quite cool " etc etc , I was being a right t*** on the sunday after lunch I made my friend Seb come to the shop and take a picture of me next to the pictures of me Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

....... . I shot my video for " smile " , it was directed by Sophie Muller who was amazing , I think the video turned out really well , it's really sick and twisted but funny and sweet at the same time , so it suits the song and me perfectly . I thought I'd be really nervous in front of all the strange crew members but it was much easier than I'd imagined , the other actors in the video were great . I'm sure you'll see it soon .

Iwent to brighton last weekend to see the Klaxons which was great , we ate chips and battered sausage after which made me feel sick all the way home . I can't relly remember much at the moment cause everythings so mental all the time erm oh yeah I wen't to te Ivor Novellos on Thursday which is basically a big knees up and self congratulatory event for the whole music industry , I found 2 rolled up 20 pound notes while I was there ( which was only a couple of hours ) so make of that what you will . New Order won something which is always nice to see. So a good day all round , actually I had to leave early to go to soundcheck for my last yoyo gig , the yoyo boys bought me a hundred balloons which "Man Like Me" later destroyed , but it was a very lovely touch all the same . After soundcheck I went to a private members club for a post "Ivors" drink with my publi shers , I thought it was going to be just us but it was the whole of the Kaiser Chiefs aswell . I drank 2 glasses of champagne and ate a huge hamburger with chips and coleslaw signed a promo copy of my album for Ricky , the lead singer ( I don't know his full name , I'm writing this so you don't assume that I'm , or think I am on first name terms with these people ) and left in a cab with Steve Mcmanaman( liverpudlian footballer) who kindly dropped me off at my next destination , the pub . ODD DAY .

Friday I had lunch with my friend Charlie who I haven't seen in ages , and that was really lovely and in the evening I had two DJ sets one at grindie (?) night Troubled Minds and the other at 43 South Molton Street . Then on saturday I went to the country made dinner for my mates and then made a fire , watched Big Brothe for the first time this year and went to bed . Sunday we got up , made boiled egg and soldiers and then went to the pub for lunch , I had roast pork ( yes there was crackling and cauliflower cheese and yorkshire ) Apple Rasberry pie and slept the whole way back to london .

By the way I went to Hakkasan in the week ( aparrently a really posh restaurant in london ) I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO INSULTED BY WAITING STAFF AS I WAS THERE , I do not reccomend going there to any one who does'nt want to be reduced to tears by rudeness . f*** You and Your stuck up cuntyness of a restaurant .

Top of the pops , strippers , flash cars , aaaighhht !

Current mood: savage

Hey yo ,

So what have I got to tell you , last week was pretty boring really except for wednesday night when I went out to celebrate signing my publishing deal with Universal . We went for dinner at NOBU , which was amazing and then we went to Stringfellows and gawped at strippers while consuming ridiculous amounts of alcohol till some ungodly hour . Apart from that it was pretty boring and was mainly spent rehearsing for Top of The Pops at Terminal , which is a place in Tower Bridge. here is a picture of me in the rehearsal room , amazing I know .

http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f93/lilyallen/MyPicture.jpg

Lady Sovereign was in the room next door , which was quite interesting , she really is very small .Hmmmm , on the second day ,my good friend Jamie T was there too, and over the past couple of weeks he'd been hassleing me to finish this track that we did together ages ago , so after rehearsals we walked to Miloko studios and I layed down some vocals . Meanwhile on a football pitch in west London somewhere Alfie tore a ligament playing football and can't walk ,he called me and asked for my advice on how he should have gone about getting home . I told him to call Mum and get her to pick him up . Today Alfie kicked a table , stole my ciggarettes and threw a plate at me ! But that's a different story.

So TOTP was pretty cool , Mc Fly , the Automatic and The Kooks were all there and the dressing rooms were like hotel rooms only without a bed . I went to school with Luke from the Kooks infact we used to rehearse Greenday songs to sing in assembly when we were 14 , so it was quite a cool moment being sat in the BBC courtyard together waiting to go on Top of The f***ing Pops . Anyway it was pretty weird perfoming to an audience being forced to cheer and clap at you , did it in one take though , then I got into my seriously popstar shaped Audi A8 car of flashness, and driven- to meet my mum in the hairdresser while she was getting her highlights done- complete with police escort ( ok the escort bit's a lie) .Then I went home and had a little sleep before going out for dinner with my old friend Nick and his buisness partner Martin . Monday( yesterday) I did some rehearsals for this Yahoo hexclusive I'm recording tomorrow , and then I went for dindins with my old man his missus and the baby Teddy ( my bootiful sister) .

sun is in the sky , oh why oh why .

Current mood: grateful

hey yall ,

The sun is out and , I'm a happy bunny , yesterday I spent the whole day in a bar melting in front of lights , recording this Yahoo special performance , it went really well , I did a cover of Squeezes " up the junction" and" smile"and "littlest things" so look out for it on yahoos homepage in the next couple of weeks .

It's so hot and loverly , boys have got thier shorts on and girls have got their t*ts out , I love summer in LDN , why do people tend to play their music louder in the summer ? next winter I am leading the campaign for loud music playing !

Today however , I had a lazy day , got up , strolled down to the shops bought a croissant from sainsburys and a coffee from Nero's and sat on the doorstep reading the newspaper while smoking fags ......HEAVEN . Then I did a few phone interviews and went for a walk in the sun . now I'm in bed listning to old 7"s and writing blogs . Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting anyway I just read this message and realised Dan must be very unhappy if he can write such things on such a loverly day ..............

- and i really mean that

- i mean, why, just because your daddy helps you get famous, should that mean that you aren't actually any good? i for one think you actually are.

t****

Current mood: embarrassed

So , the sun has been shining and people have been enjoying themselves , some people however are t**** , including myself .

On Friday , I recorded this show called Transmission T-mobile for channel 4 .......... You'd think that people in bands would be happy they don't have to sit in an office all day sweating( like Ron Atkinson at Notting Hill Carnival) in this blistering heat . Instead they can wake up late(ish) , put on yesterdays clothes , nip in to makeup then do their little singing and bit f*** off to get pissed .

Well you'd be wrong I joined , The Kooks , Dirty Pretty Things and Klaxons in performing for this show , I went to school with Luke from the Kooks I thought he was quite cool then. I was quite annoyed at how much of a bad man he thinks he is , there is no excuse for wearing broken straw hats and dark sunglasses( two storeys underground of Alexandra Palace) while strumming your guitar like you're treating everyone to an exclusive showcase for your next album, This is a dressing room and your not Jim f***ing Morrison OK ! I don't want to hear your rendition of Waterloo Sunset 4 times in an afternoon .

Carl Barat is obviously convinced he is God or something ,though the other two guys ( who werent in the Libertines) seemed alright . Carl didn't make eye contact with anyone , not that I could see anyway ( and they have ORGANIC sliced bread on the rider ) . Klaxons were the only people who were likeable and there music is actually something to write home about , unlike the other two . Boys your regurgitated indie rock days are numbered so get over yourselves .

At one point I lost my handbag which I got earlier in the week , it's my favourite new toy and I was freaking out , it had my two phones ( don't ask ) my wallet all my make up and more embarrassingly a whole load of my own press clippings ( which I was planning on sending to my grandparents)I'd had a few beers and couldn't find it anywhere, I then got snappy with my TV plugger Helena, who was helping me look for it .For a minute I believed I was more important than I actually am, and took it out on someone who was trying to help , I am therefore just as bad as as Luke and Carl and behaved like a nob . My friends Seb and Ben joined me ( they came to see Klaxons ) , they told me to stop being Diana Ross and reminded me of the dick I was being , I was rude to them too . I am a t*** , but I'm working on not being one .

busy lady

Current mood: busy

Hi everyone , sorry for being rubbish at blogging , I've been well busy .

So I'll start with last Sunday , I went to do T4 on the beach , which I was petrified of doing . If you saw it on the tele , then you may have noticed that I was slightly out of tune and looked a bit funny . Well as this was my 7th ever gig and for 30,000 people, I was p***ing myself with nerves so I thought it would be a good idea to get absolutely plastered . I was on at 11.45 or something so i was pissed by 10 am ( not a good look ) . I got sent home by management at 1pm for being loud and obnoxious . To be fair I couldve really really embarassed myself if I'd stayed much longer . So I went back to london in a floor length ballgown , and fell asleep in the car all the way back . Upon arrival , I found I was locked out of my house , my mum had gone to a wedding and wouldnt be back for a couple of hours . then my phone ran out of batteries so I couldnt call anyone for help . I sat on my doorstep lookin like a mental patient on their afternoon out , in a golden princess ballgown , f***loads of green eye-makeup in the sun , on the pavement in islington . NICE . The next day i got up at 5 in the a.m to get on a plane to cologne , Germany , unfortunately not for the football , but for a promo trip , I sat in a room for two days answering questions about the album and eating alot of $h!t food . I did go out for dinner with the people from EMI germany , and ate schnitzel , which was nice . on the tuesday we got on a train to Paris for more promo , just as the England , Sweden game was kicking off in Cologne , I was fuming not only could I not go to the game , I was relying on my useless mates in the Uk for updates , of which I got none . I got to the hotel in Paris and caught th last 10 minutes of the game on tele . It seemed the minimal ethos of the hotel even streched to the food , when I asked for steak and chips they sneered at me , I ate a small plate of cheese and then went to bed . no nightmares though . The next day I did four photo shoots in one day for french magazines and went out for dinner . In france on the first day of summer they have this thing called La fee de la musique , it's a national day of music and the bars stay open all night and people play music in the streets all over the f***ing country . Tony , why oh why don't we have anything like this ? I'm leading the protest fro a National music day . So I ate steak and chips that night , the best I've ever had , and drank french wine with my manager and the people from EMI france . It was a lovely evening , The next day was interviews all day and then back on the eurostar to London . I went to bed as soon as I got home . On the fiday morning I went to Radio 1 to do an intervieew for the gilles peterson show and a bit for Newsbeat , also I popped in to see Jo Whiley and said thanks for all her support . Then I wnt to a secret location to design a special trainer with Nike for my album launch . And then I went to rehearsals for this mini tour I'm doing this week . I did a show at the launch of Jade Jaggers new company called Jezebel , then went back to my hotel and got on a bus the next morning to Nottingham for a gig at Stealth , we were caught in traffic for two hours going past Milton Keynes cause of the stuipid Take That gig . Anyway the gig was amazing in nottingham and the people were really firendly , everyone knew the words to all the songs , which was great and made me feel so happy . We didnt get back till 5 in the morning and then I had to get up at 8.30 to do TOTP , so you can see why I have found it difficult finding the time to write a blog . You can get "smile" on itunes as of tuesday so please go and buy it and the albums out in a couple of weeks . I love you all . lily xxxxxx

Slightly Depressed

Current mood: annoyed

Hello ,

so I've just finished the week of my first mini tour . I started in London last friday , and did a gig every night , one in Nottingham , Leeds and Sheffield another in a London pub on thursday , one at KoKo for the album chart show and a radio appearance/session for Tom Robinson on BBC6 . I'm knackered . I'm also quite depressed because I've split up with my boyfriend . This should be the happiest time in my life but to be honest , I feel alone and lost and find myself crying uncontrollably .

On a lighter note " smile " (my ironically titled first single) has been No1 on the itunes chart for most of this week , so I'm delighted and very grateful for everybody who has gone and bought it . I'm overwhelmed by how much people like the song and could never have expected the reception it has been getting , here on the internet and on the radio . THANK YOU , THANK YOU , THANK YOU .

So ......... the England result eh? Ronaldo is a dirty dirty bast*rd , agreed? I still can't figure out whether Rooney got sent off for the stamp or for the push , I know he shouldn't have reacted but whatever . Ronaldo is pure evil , did you see the winking and him winding up Rooney earlier on in the game . I bet the press are gonna use Rooney as the scapegoat , but I reckon we should go after Ronaldo .

Thank god Sven's reign is over though , England have been $h!t in this tournament sayin that I was proud of them from the second half of todays game . I think football reflects the state of a country at that time , and to be honest I'm with Germany from here on . Germany have managed to shake their stereotype of being a square uncultured and over efficient society and have embraced a 21st century way of living , I was in Germany last week , they have a good health service great oppertunities for young people and seem to be a country I would be proud to be a part of and I think there football reflects that . England on the other hand play in a way that reflect our society

money minded , confused , lacking control and direction and most of all bored . Beckhams $h!t . I hope he never plays for England again , the FA only play him for fear of losing shirt sales , and I'm ashamed of us for those reasons . Svens walking away from todays match with 5 odd million quid , he doesn't give a $h!t .

Sorry for the rant but , I'm feeling a bit down and I just stepped on a wasp , my foot is the size of a rugby ball . Don't panic, I'll be fine

Thanks to everyone who came to my gig's last week , I really enjoyed them , and I'm really excited about all the Festivals coming up .

Lots of love Lily .

WHOAHOAH !!!!!!!!!

Current mood: indescribable

Oh Jesus , number 1 eh ? This is all very strange for me and I am so so so happy with the success of " smile " . I never expected this kind of sucess in a million years , and I'm in shock .

Sorry I haven't been on here for a week , you see I left for Italy last Friday to do a tvprogramme called " festivalbar" it was neither a festival or a bar , more of a large stage in the town square of an italian village in the pouring torrential rain with some interesting looking presenters . Anyway I left my house at 5 am on the friday morning and was pretty hungover from the previous night , I packed really badly and forgot my laptop , f***ING NIGHTMARE .

So after "festivalbar" we went to the hilton at rome airport and had a few drinks before going to bed . Some of the lads from the band got a bit excited and decided to have an arm wrestling contest , not content with proving their manliness they decided to have a hundred metere sprint competition ............. in flip flops . Merrick my geordie bass player wiped out at 30 m ,in his own words " my feet couldn't keep up with my mind " he really hurt himself , blood n all . And so to bed .

Next day we got on a plane to Dublin , where our tour manager met us at arrivals with a board entitled " fools " , thats our bands pseudonym from now on . First stop the off liscence to stock up on cider or Bulmers as they call it in Ireland , Magners to uk folk . Then we arrived at Punchestown racecourse for the Oxegen festival we hung around in the p***ing rain for a while until we were due on stage at the new bands tent . We had a great show despite it being my first ever festival , and as it was raining so hard we decided not to stick around but to head off. We had to be in Belfast ( 4 hours drive ) and get a good nights sleep so we could get the ferry nice and early in the morning to Scotland for T in the Park . Anyway Punchestown is not far away from my ex boyfriends parents' house and they have been looking after my dog Stella for a year or so now , Stella had puppies a few weeks ago so I had to go and visit them and choose one for myself while we were in Ireland . Thank you to Victoria and Julian for dealing with me and 9 slightly drunk boys at midnight wishing to check out some puppies .

So I hated to leave them , but duty called and on into the night we went , To Belfast . We stayed in some sordid hotel near the ferry port and got up at 5.30 in the a.m to get to Scotland in time .

The drive from the ferryport in scotland to Kinross was interesting and , consisted mostly of drinking and smoking fags . The sun was out when we got there and it felt festivaly to me . I missed Glastonbury last year , so I was well excited about this one . We drunk and drunk and drunk some more and then I remembered that I had a gig to do . So I ate a couple of hot dogs and found it quite difficult squeezing into my ballgown . We made our way to the stage , and it seemed there were a few problems with the PA so we waited for a bit . There wasn't much of a crowd at first but as soon as I got on stage the tent filled up to capacity and we had the most amazing gig ever , it felt really special . As if that wasn't enough just before the end of the gig ,Adrian my manager came on stage with a bottle of champagne and told me " smile " had got to number 1 in the charts . I couldn't f***ing believe it , the best day of my life without a doubt , the crowd went mental we sang smile and I got very very drunk after that . I was going up to bands backstage and being really annoying all night " Are you in a band ? cool , are you number 1 ? " was pretty much all that came out of my mouth for the rest of the day . In other words I was being a right dick .

I did not feel so clever the next morning when we had to get up at 4 30 to go to Paris , no 1 has never felt so bad , cue sunglasses . for the rest of the week I was in a different country every day dong promo , which means answering the same question to 20 people a day . I went to france , spain , italy , and then back to england . I cried alot this week , I think im tired , but this is still the best job in the world .

Thank you to everyone who bought "smile" and helped it go to number 1 , I am so so gratefull .

Sorry to everyone who is still waiting to be approved on the friend request front . There are 9,000 of you and it's taking me ages to get through you all . I've got some footage of the gigs , and I'll be putting it up on my website Lilyallenmusic.com soon , so look out , oh and the Albums out this week .

love you all

Big Chilling In OZ

Current mood: accomplished

Eaaaaasssssyyyyyyyy , so I know I've been well slack with blogs recently and I'm sorry . It's mainly cause I'm lazy but also cause , I end up seeing bits of it in the papers and it's boring .Anyway it's been a crazy few weeks , I shot the video for LDN , directed by this guy called Nima Nizouradeh , he did the Hot Chip videos and Jamie T's videos too . I havn't seen it yet but I'm sure it will be great as it was such a laugh to make . I got a puppy too , shes called Maggie May and she's very bitey , I have scars on my hands where her sharp teethies break the skin , but on the plus side Alfie has managed to make her pee and

poo on newspaper , which is great ! I love her so much , she is the white one from my last blog . In the days running up to the video I was in Germany doing Promo which was great ! "smile" is number 12 in the airplay chart so I must have done something right , eh ? Oh yeah , Laura my manager embarrassed me live on air , when in a radio interview in frankfurt, I was asked " Where else in Germay have you visited ?" Laura shouted Strasbourg , only to find out strasbourg is in France . I laughed it off nervously . Enough

Germany , after the video shoot ended I went home and slept for 18 hours straight , and got up to shoot a piece for Time Out magazine and then I did something I have been very excited about for a long time . I boarded my very first Sleeper bus . Meaning a tourbus

with actual beds ( well more like coffins, but all the same ) . Yup it had tables , DVD player , playstation, taps, a toilet (which is only to be used for p***ing) and BEDS , f***ING BEDS . no more sleeping on the floor of a minivan getting everyones festival mud on your face. I was very , very happy . It was me , the boys ( Darren , Tunde , Merrick , Del, JOhn ) Alfie and Emily ( my friend who now travels everywhere with me , so I don't lose my mind) . We

were on our way to The Big Chill , it was a four hour drive , but we loved our posh bus so we didnt mind . I bought trivial Pursuit , which of course I won, and this funny triple cd game of 60's 70's and 80's of name that tune which provided approximately 10 minutes

of entertainment, we got to " The Big Chill " at about midnight and proceeded to get " festivaled " ( not a good idea when you have a gig the next afternoon ) . Anyway , i watched the documetary of " Glastonbury " a few weeks ago , and seeing footage of bands like Primal scream playing Glastonbury made me want to go and write rock and roll anthems , just so I could feed my ego by seeing all those people jumping up and down to my songs . I quickly got over it and realised my songs seem to be pushing some peoples buttons , without being jump up anthems and just assumed rock gods have more fun . Anyway the next morning we got up ( all with fesitval hangover ) had showers , and got ready to do our show that afternoon . We were due onstage a 3 pm so at half two I shoved some glitter on my face put on a yellow dress and made my way down , my Dad came with his girlfriend Tamsin and their beautiful baby Teddy ( my sister) so I met them backstage just before I went on . I downed a magners and as the intro of LDN came on I walked out to the HUGEST audience I had ever seen , there must have been 20,000 people there , some with banners and signs and there were loads of little kids at the front . It was just amazing , everyone was having such a laugh in the sun and Alfie even came on for a dance during his song at the end , which was histerical . Anyway my Glastonbury (even though it wasn't Glastonbury) dream came true , people did jump up and down and we ( the band ) had a great time . My Dad came back to see me after and he was sooo proud he was almost crying , the only other time he saw me play was at YoYo's in May and it was the worst show I did there , so I was just over the moon that it all went so well . It's funny how making your parents proud of you has such an effect , but thats another story . Then some really lovely ladies with lovely children from www.flo-jo.co.uk came and gave me some free pants , that are beautifuly crafted and very comfy , I suggest you go and buy some from their web shop immidiately . We couldn't stick around very long cause I had to get back to London ,as I was leaving in the morning to go to AUSTRALIA .

The flight is long , very long and boring . But we got to Melbourne and checked into our lovely hotel the Como and dumped our bags , before rushing out to watch " The Feeling " who have the same managers as me and coincedentlay were in Oz at the same time . It was a great gig and we went to Dinner after , me and my crew were slightly delirious with Jet lag at dinner and probably quite dizzy what with being upside down and all . There were many " down under " jokes that wouldn't be very funny if I wrote them down here , but they moved on to being even more ridiculous about how cows must go " oooom " and sheep go "aaaaab " cats go "woaem" and dogs" fooow" , it was funny at the time . no really it was . Emily and I wen't shopping the next day and I bought a Nintendo DS with this brain game thing , which makes you clever ( apparently) , though I havn't seen any evidence of this yet . The next day I did alot of radio promo and met this gorgeous DJ . I made sure he came to my gig and dedicated " littlest things " to him . Sorry getting ahead of myself , we played a gig at St Jeromes club , which was more of an alleyway than a club , there were only 200 tickets for the gig but 1500 people turned up and queued up , so we opened the back door to this alleyway so more people could see Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting. anyway , gig was amazing . And I kissed the dj after the show . I'll do a blog about sydney later today . my laptops about to run out of batteries , and maggie needs a walk . x x x

THAT PEACHES

Current mood: chipper

For the record , I did not spit at the lovely Peaches Geldof . I went to the V festival and some silly journo came up to me and said ' Hi lily , that peaches , over there , said you are a stupid cokehead . Why dont you go over and have a word with her ? ' . I've known Peaches for a while now , and doubt she would say such a thing , so I ignored this journalist ( I use term journalist loosely ! ) and went about my day .

Thank you for your time

By the way Peaches is a lovely , incredibly intelligent young lady , and I want you to know there is no issue there whatsoever .

Festivals , Chicken, Rice and Peace .

Current mood: good

Yo ,

so I'll start where I left off on my Oz blog . We left Melbourne and headed for Sydney for another gig and a few days of Promo . We stayed at the Shangri -La hotel which overlooked the harbour, my room was on the 40th floor , so you can imagine the view . The gig was amazing , the Sydney crowd were well up for it . And on the sunday EMI australia rented a yaucht for me , and we went on a tour of the harbour and surrounding areas , while sipping on champagne and eating nibbles . the food in Oz is baad ( meaning good , obviously) . Anyway the record company people in sydney were soooo nice and even gave me my first gold disc , gunshots ! ( excuse my bizzare use of yardie language during this blog , it was carnival on the weekend , but it's still carnival in my head ! so shut yuh muh !)

We got back to england after a 26 hour flight which was nice , big up to Owen in the business class cabin who sorted me out with pyjamas . And then I had a day off , thanks EMI . But its a festival weekend and it starts off on Friday with The Secret Garden which was well good , particularly as Lester ( my ex , who I wrote smile about , and subsequently sold his story to the papers ) had a tent called " the $h!t tent " positioned directly opposite the main stage , so he and his new girlfriend had no option but to watch me perform to a couple of thousand people singing " smile " back to me . Oh it's the little things eh ! We couldn't stay long as we had to make our way to Staffordshire for the V festival for Saturday , so we drove into the night and I woke up in the morning already at V . Me and the crew were on a mission for breakfast and just as we found the artists catering tent , I headed straight for the bacon sandwiches , then I got thrown out for smoking , at a f***ing festival , the irony ! We had a wicked show on the JJB stage it seems we have the best luck , when we play in a tent , it rains , so everyone comes to se us . And when we play on a stage outside, the sun comes out , cheers God . Anyway it was a great show but we were out of there by 3 , and headed for Chelmsford we arrived at half 8 . And rumours started circulating about us turning up to the wrong site on the wrong day cause we were just sooooo out of our heads . FOOLS . Anyway I did get quit pissed and I probably shouldn't have cause I didn't feel tooo clever when I woke up the next morning , trying to find a shower and get ready for my show , never mind all the management and record comany heads making their way down to see me . AAAArrrgh . The show was AMAZING , they had to lock off the tent cause too many people were trying to get in . The atmosphere was incredible and I think it was the best show yet ! Then of course I went and spat on Peaches Geldof's shoes for calling me a" cokehead " , backstage in the Virgin hospitality area ( if any journo lifts that as a qoute , the you're a chief as I'm obviously being sarcastic ) . I ate 3 sausage rolls , they were disgusting ( meaning delicious , obviously ) . And then I left , shortly after blagging a free razr phone off the virgin people , which has itunes on it .

The next morning I went to Denmark to do some promo for a couple of days , some div in the room above mine left the bath running through the night so my room got flooded and I had to move , luckily my nintendo DS with new super mario , was not affected nor was my PSP . On the Thursday I went to Germany to play this thing called the Dome , which was amusing , thats all I 'm saying . Then I flew direct from there to Cardiff fro Get Loaded , where I met the guys on the bus . Emily , my friend who comes everywhere with me at the moment had surprised me my hiding my mum on the bus , and she jumped out on me when I got on . It was such a nice surprise as I havent seen her in ages , she cried when we did our gig , and it was all very emotional . It was nice playing in Wales , my grandmas from wales and she would have been very proud to see me play there , but she is too frail to come to a gig never mind a festival . WE played at six but due to regulationds our bus driver wasnt allowed to leave till 12.30 so we had no option but to stay and get pisssed . The next morning I woke up in Clapham Common , I have never actually been to Clapham common , yet my favourite song of all time , Up the Junction by Squeeze starts exactly there , and what a lovely start to the day it was . Hungover once again I get a phonecall from management telling me to meet them round the corner as the journalist from Rolling Stone magazine ( america) is ready to start the interview . "WHAT ? , f*** , f*** f*** " . I had completely forgotten and I can't even find anywhere to brush my teeth ," ahhhh what the hell ! She's a rocknroll journalist she'll understand . "

I don't know how well the interview went as I can't really remember it , which means I must have still been drunk . But the show wen't well , which was a surprise , because after my Carl Barat rant , I had been recieving threats from Libertines fans , and as Babyshambles were headlining , I didn't expect much support from the front row , but it was fine , infact I met Pete later on that day and he was very charming indeed , although he stole one of my rings and I'm very cross about it . I hope I see it again . Then I headed into carnival just as it was finishing and stayed at a friends house in the area . Said friend brought me chicken rice and peas in bed , for breakfast , while I did a live phonecall for Annie Mac on Radio 1 . then I did a souncheck for the carnival YOYO special . That went well , but I was exhausted by that point so I went to be straigh after the show . I woke up at 5 the next morning to get in a car to gatwick , boarded my easyjet flight , by the way I was very dissapointed the air stewards don't wear the bright orange Ben Shermans anymore , i used to find it most amusing . And now I'm in Marrakesh at a lovely hotel on a weeks holiday . Ill be back on tuesday to promote LDN , and do more blogs. love ya'll .

At Blog Last

Current mood: ditzy

Yo , im writing to you from the dressing room of some venue in Cambridge , I've got a sore throat , need to stop smoking .

I havent written a blog in ages , the tours been great so far and my spare time has been spent watchting the West Wing DVD box sets in the back of the bus . i havent watched telly for months so I've been really enjoyng slobbing out after shows eating monster munch and salt and vinegar flavoured crisps , ACE . Sorry for having neglected you but thats the truth . America was great , I was $h!tting myself before the New York show , but peope there seemed to enjoy it . And my Mum flew all the way to L.A to surprise me before the gig , I cried . It's funny because I thought it'd be nice going somewhere that my name hadn't been tarnished already by myself or the british Press , and no one knows who my Dad is there , so I was excited at the prospect of not having to answer questions about him . NOT SO , the powers of Google have enabled journalists to be even lazier than before and equally as unimaginative . " So , We in America , don't really know your Dad here , tell us what it is he does ? " . BRILLIANT

I'm happy though generally , I got my driving liscence back , so I bought a car . Mini Cooper S being delivered in a couple of weeks , just to keep me going till I can afford a Bentley Coupe .

Dad came to the Manchester show and I got to spend time with adorable baby sister Teddie , she is soo sweet . My Dad left her with me for the afternoon , he's gone all posh ,and feeds her organic food and dresses her up in hemp clothing. I was half tempted to take her to get her ears pierced and dress her up in BABY GAP . I chickened out . That was the opening show of the tour , it was funny cause we have alot of friends from Manchester , we go to Glastonbury with them every year so they were all really excited to come and see me play . I put all their names on the list and said for them to come down to souncheck and say " hi " . The promoter took one look at them and said they had been banned from all gigs related to that promoter , apparently they'd been caught duplicating passes at some other concerts , and as a result had been blacklisted from my gig . It sorted itself out though , they came in the end . Things were a bit weird though , firstly My father raided the stage and danced untill I told him to f*** off . And after the show , these people( the duplicators) who I've known for years , all wanted their photos taken with me and their kids . WEIRD $h!t .

Anyway I have to go soundcheck now , Del my stage manager tells me I must leave you now so blame him .

There are pictures on the way and little video blogs being edited .

love ya'll
