June 24, 200817 yr Author 07 Jun 2008 TRIPSIES Current mood: amorous Hello, I'm off for a few weeks, finishing the album supposedly. I'm going to LA. It's been almost a year since I was last in America and I can't wait. I'm going to have 1 in n out burger when I get on the plane and then I'm only eating sushi for my whole trip. I hope they let me in this time. This is going to be my face at immigration Photobucket Anyways I'm at the airport, Heathrow terminal 3, beautiful view Photobucket I just bought some wicked Bose headphones and a Mac make up bag, nice lady from air New Zealand just told me the flights delayed till 5 ................ BORING! I think I might eat an apple. By the way, the Mystery Jets new album is soooooo amazing, the song with Laura marling is great, but Flakes is my favourite track I think. Erol Alkan produced the record and I think it's the best album I've heard this year. Sounds pretty 80's in parts in fact it inspired me to do a Joe Jackson cover the other day, Stepping Out. Don't worry you'll never have to hear it. So when I get back to Londres in a few weeks time, my flat will be ready to move into. I'm beyond excited, it's taken me 8 months to do it up; it was in a right state when I bought it but it looks amazing now. I've got a bath in my bedroom, yikes, and a remote control fire. I've been collecting art for years, but I've never had my own lace to put it all up in so, I CAN'T WAIT. Then it's summer and I'm not playing at any of the festivals, so I can just hang out and go and see bands, instead of having to leave straight after the gig, get on the bus and drive to the next one. Write you tomorrow, I'm going to try and update the blog more now, I read something about kanye West posting 8 times a day, well I can't do that, mainly because I'm no way near as interesting, and I don't have as much to say, but I'm up for blogging more now. lilz
June 24, 200817 yr Author 08 Jun 2008 I’m in So, they let me in. Hello America, it's nice to be back. Tis Sunday so I don't really know what Emily and I are going to do today, probably meet up with my Auntie Kai for brunch and then go and buy some shampoo, conditioner and a good hair dryer, and then do my hair. Amazing, eh? Immigration was funny; they only kept me for an hour or so. I was listening in on one of the immigration officer's conversation with one of her colleagues. She had allergies, she was sneezing a little and someone said, "Bless you". She said she had read somewhere that "in America, we wash more than any of the other countries" she went on " yep, we wash every day, but we have more water than in the other countries, so they don't wash as much as we do". And then the best bit " too clean, that's why we sneeze, because were used to it being so clean, when there's a little dirt or dust we can't take it" and interesting theory I thought, suffice to say the first thing I did when I arrived was have a shower. It is 5 am, and I am jet lagged to f***. We did go to my favourite sushi place last night ita-cho on Beverly. The miso eggplant (aubergine) is to die for, and the grilled peppers were pretty killer. "To die for, killer?" Oh my god, I think I am getting old and uncool, I just used naff adjectives to describe something I like. Like my mum saying groovy or yumsville, oh my god I'm going to be sick. I hope that was the jet lag talking. The flight was lovely , and Emily got an upgrade so thank you to the lovely people at Air New Zealand for being so nice to us, oh yeah they drove us to the gate on one of those buggy things as well , which was really fun , never been on one of those before . I don't think all the business men liked us very much, some pink haired weirdo and Emily causing trouble at the front, ha ha. June 24, 200817 yr Author 09 Jun 2008 John Belushi Died in my Room Yo, So, I had eggs Benedict at this deli called nate'n'als yesterday, it was so yummy, such a great place for breakfast. I remember my mum used to take me there when I was a kid. It's been there for over 60 years and is definitely worth the visit, some amazing people watching to be done. This guy on the table next to Em and I put 6 of those little bowls of sugar in his porridge; seriously it was like 1:1 part sugar to porridge. And on the other table next to us, there were two LA dads in their 40's with about five little girls between them, being very tolerant and encouraging (I don't see this in England much) patiently answering the barrage of questions all in the name of education, until of course, one said " but how does the baby get in the mom's tummy", very well swerved by Dad, but I was dying to hear his explanation. There was also a letter from the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger on the wall; I can't believe he is actually Governor, just hilarious. Nate'n 'als if you're ever in town, go. and have the hash browns . So we drove from they're to Santa Monica and broke into my Auntie Kai's house, she was asleep but we woke her up and brought her up to Hollywood for the day. We were staying in these serviced apartments, that the label had put us in but. It was a basement flat and the door was flimsy and it smelled gross and we just didn't feel safe there .Now I'm no diva but I am here for three weeks, so we checked in to my favourite hotel The Chateau marmont. Photobucket Now I've never stayed in the room that I'm in before but rumour has it John Belushi died in here, I'm going to try and channel his Blues Brothers don- ness and get it on my album, maybe I'll write a song from his viewpoint, about the last few hours of his life, rumour also has it the last people to visit him here were Robin (not to be confused with Robbie) Williams and Robert DeNiro. About 600 bikes all in a row being parked. Wow, what happened to chaining them to a railing? So I bought some khiel stuff for my hair and a skin for my Mac book air (I dropped it the other day) and came back to the hotel. July 3, 200817 yr Author The attack of the killer tomatoes not much to report today , it's 8 am , i'm about to go to the gym , i'm waiting for my coffee and a fruit platter , and then my day begins. I was in the studio yesterday , all is well , we got started on a few ideas , then went for lunch , we went to a Mexican restaurant in Silverlake , food was delicious and they made this roasted tomato salsa instead of normal salsa , because of the tomato salmonella scare . anyway it was all very yummy . heres a pic of my left over rice and beanz Photobucket and some Koka Kola Photobucket I came back to the hotel at about 7 and went straight to dinner with my number one fan and avid reader of my blog Samantha , we went to this place called Il Sole , the food ? amazing . I love truffles , big time, and they didn't dissapoint . Samantha brought a rather famous friend with her and about 50 million paparazzi , and once Sam and her friend had left with all the paps in tow , we found this little man skipping around on the pavement , he said he was 15 but I think he's even younger . what do you think ? Current mood: chill Hello mellow yellow , Today was a studio day , got up this morning and trained with my new trainer Bobby .for an hour or so then packed up our stuff and moved out of our bungalow : ( a) it was too expensive for us and b ) we didn't need all that space , so were now in another room which is suite ( see what I did there!) Sadly John Belushi's spirit is no longer with me and I have to actually walk up stairs to get to my room . However, the view is cool looking all the way down Sunset and just incase I forgot what kind of mp3 player to buy next time mine breaks , theres this . This is the car chase , might not seem scary to you but Emily and I are driving a tiny red mini really close to the ground and these cars are huge , and unnesscaserily so I might add . July 3, 200817 yr Author reportedly retarded No pictures today I'm afraid, I forgot my camera yesterday. So, I'm a little upset today, Perez Hilton is a mean man. I don't know what I did to p*** him off but the last few months he has launched a bit of a tirade against me, I can understand why he'd write "MESS" across my head on a picture of me being carried out of an awards ceremony drunk out of my mind, but some things he say baffle me. He insinuated I was smoking during my pregnancy, which was not true, ask anyone who knows me, I didn't touch a cigarette or a drink for the few months that I was pregnant, he also insinuated there was something suspicious about me having a miscarriage, which is just wrong, but I'm not going to go into how painful that whole episode was. Yesterday he posted this And the battle is on! It's hard to stay on top in the music industry. Just ask Lily Allen! Lily used to be Capitol Records' "golden girl" but lately she's just been slipping. She's known these days more fore being a tragic train wreck than a musician. She knows it too. That must hurt! And, now, it seems she's been replaced. Replaced by none other than a Perez fad, Katy Perry, which we first introduced you to last year. Katy also performed at our kick ass party in Austin during SXSW this past March. Well, according to reports, a music industry insider has said, "Lily Allen is peeved at Capitol. She feels like they've shoved her aside to focus all their energies on their new girl of the moment, Katy Perry." But the real insult, according to the source, came when the label "replaced a photo of Lily Allen with one of Katy Perry" in its office main lobby. Ha ha ha!!!!! Lily is starting to look like washed-up goods. The only thing that can save Allen now???? If she makes a good sophomore album! But, from what we're hearing, Lily's new material s-u-c-k-s. I don't know why this has annoyed me so much. If I'm honest, it's probably because part of it is true these days I am more known for being a train wreck than a musician, and it does hurt. I've been working really hard on my new record; I don't think it sucks by the way. I haven't released a record for two years, so it's totally understandable that people don't write about my music anymore, however it's not fair to say that I'm washed up and it's not fair to make up these feuds between people. Not everyone's lives are fuelled by egos and jealousy, mine is certainly not. There was a time when Amy came out, that I was a little jealous, she has an amazing voice and writes incredible songs, what singer wouldn't be a little jealous of that, but I'd never let those feelings become unhealthy. And this is not meant in any way but I'd never heard of Katy Perry before I came here a few days ago, I didn't even know she was on Capitol, who by the way are not my label. I am signed to Regal Records in the UK and Capitol distributes my records here in America. I don't feel like I've been shoved aside for anyone, I haven't got a record out yet, so why would anyone be focusing their energies on me when there's nothing to work on! I have never been a "golden girl" and I think I visited Capitols office in New York once, about a year a half ago. I very much doubt they had a picture of me in their lobby. The point I'm trying to make is these stories are just not true. If the word reportedly exists in a story it means that it's pretty much a lie, it means they can't prove what they're writing and their just covering their backs. Perez doesn't even do this he just writes things that aren't true with no shame about it, and it's sad. I read these posts on his website about anti – bullying campaigns and all these good causes, and while I used to enjoy reading his site it seems to me that recently he has become what he hates so much, a bully. He bullies young, successful females; people usually bully people they're jealous of so I'll let you come to your own conclusion on that one. Anyway, I've got nothing against Perez personally, I don't assume to know him, what I do know is this though, he has a HUGE crush on my old manager, who I fired with a few months ago. Maybe this is his way of getting his attention or in his good books, or maybe it's because I turned down the opportunity of going on his TV show when he asked me to, or maybe because I'm friends with Samantha Ronson , who is so lovely by the way and not what Perez makes her out to be, who knows? Anyways, I hope you'll all like my new material, if not, looks like I'll have to find something else to do. Claims the British trainwreck, "And this is not meant in any way [to be mean] but I'd never heard of Katy Perry before I came here [to L.A.] a few days ago, I didn't even know she was on Capitol." Uhmm, liar! Sources close to both Lily and Katy tell us that Allen "definitely knows" Perry. In fact, they've even met! Above is a lovely picture of Katy and Lily together. July 14, 200817 yr Author viva la vida loca I'm back to black b**ch . Photobucket I got bored of the pink , I can't believe i'm posting a blog about my hair , sooooooo " the hills" kinda sorta finished the album , hopefully a single out soon , but i'm definitely gonna post a new song or two this week . I'm starting Bikram yoga tomorrow , YAWN . . That pic of me up there is in my new flat , i've been in for a week and it's been an OK move , I've been sofa surfing and living in hotels for two years , so it's really weird being in this place alone , and don't get too excited burglars , i've got metal roller blinds that go down at night and a panic button by my bed , no panic room though . food for thought . it has been a tough week though , you may have heard my nan passed away , last weekend , we were close and even though she had been very ill for the last few years , it was a big shock , and surreal to find out at Glastonbury . But i went up to see my grandad in Kings lynn (where they lived) and drove him down to Wales where we will bury her on friday. All very sad , but he is doing well and being very brave . I love my family . Anyway the point is my nan would have killed me if I went to her funeral with pink hair , so there is another reason . Anyways in other news , I'm getting a dog from Battersea dogs home , i found her on the weekend , and after a visit from a rehoming officer hopefully, i'll have her by next week . She's called Honey and she's quite fat (insert dogs like their owners joke here) , but very sweet , she's a mongrel . There were so many Stafforshire Bullies there it was so sad . People should really think about getting puppies from breeders or breeding them for that matter , if you saw all those poor dogs without a home with their sad little faces , you wouldn't even think about buying dogs from people who profit . September 16, 200816 yr Author 08 Aug 2008 making a boob hello , i wore a loose fitting t shirt yesterday . I was very hot in London yesterday , and it's no secret I don't like wearing bras , besides i don't need to, measuring in at 32A it hardly seems necessary .My boob fell out twice and people on the blogs are saying it was a publicity stunt . Can I just say , i have been keeping myself very much to myself recently , i've been gardening , decorating my new flat and looking after my greiving grandfather . If i wanted publicity , i'd be accepting invitations not to mention money for turning up to glamourous events . I'm actually trying really hard to be out of the public eye , as I'm really proud of the work i've put into my album and I want people to appreciate the music , yes I enjoy attention and praise , thats why i went into this job . But don't accuse me of purposely slipping out of my clothes to get attention and press . I hate the fact that there are always 10 middle aged men following me everywhere that i go . I understand that it's the price i pay for having a nice house and nice clothes , and i treat them with courtesy when i don't think that they particularly deserve it . i'm a very independent person and I like to live as normal a life as anybody where I can ,I live by myself , i drive myself around and run all my errands by myself . It's actually incredibly embarrasing and lonely when I'm walking down the street and men are chasing me with their cameras , drawing attention to me and people then pointing and taking out their camera's and phones all getting in on the action . I'm 5"2 i'm 23 and this stuff gets to me every so often , so when you see pictures of " lily looking , glum" or " lily in tears , again" it's not because i'm upset about my relationships or because i'm hungover . It's because i'm on my own and people are pointing at me like an animal in the zoo , talking about me as if i'm not there, meanwhile 10 -20 guys are all making money catching every second of it . Anyway my point is , i would never use my body in that way , I'm just not that kind of girl .
September 16, 200816 yr Author 16 Aug 2008 Olympics Is Wicked Whagwan Bluds , So i went on a little holiday to Ibiza last week , didn't get much sun cause i've been glued to the Olympics . I did go out one night though , to Space , it was all a bit of a blast from the past, cause last time i was in Ibiza I was 15 and working on the main strip in San Antonio selling tickets to nightclubs with tokens for free shots of vomit inducing alcohol , living in a welsh hostel . It was nice to experience the island in a different way , we went to lots of nice restaurants and did lots of swimming and it was all very fun . Now , the album . it has been finished for a while now , I don't really know whats going on with it . The record industry is a very political place at the moment and I am on EMI records , lots of people have been fired or have taken redundancy recently as the company was taken over by a private equity firm called Terra Firma . Many of these people were people assigned to my projects and now i don't quite know whats going on . I'm sure everyone will find their feet soon enough and i'll be able to put the album out soon . In the meantime there are the olympics to watch and the football seasons starting which are both far more entertaining anyway. I'm gonna go to the V concerts tomorrow , which will be fun i'm sure , and then i might go on another holiday as i don't have anything else to do . Lots of love Lily
September 16, 200816 yr Author 05 Sep 2008 Hi Hi , now it's all died down i'm saying my side of what I can't believe is considered to be a story. Elton john and I are friends. I was honoured when Elton asked me to present the GQ awards with him this year in association with Elton's AIDS foundation. Not only was it for a good cause but who would say no to Elton. I'm not defending my drunkeness because i don't need to, i'm 23 it was an awards ceremony i drank the free champagne, how awful of me. Trying to create a feud on the other hand, and trying to make me out as being some rude little girl with a drink problem is just unfair, Elton and I exchanged jokes and there were no hard feelings at all, infact neither of us gave it a second thought. It's sad that an evening enjoyed by all had to ruined by some bitter journos again. Alfie and Jamie had never been engaged, Jamie and I are the best of friends and I was just winding Alfie up , he's my little brother and that's what siblings do. Jamie wasn't pissed off with me, if she was i would have known about it, believe me. This isn't meant to be a place for me to respond to journalists, but I am very grateful I have this page, if i didn't then i would have absolutely no voice when it comes to this stuff. All these showbiz journalists are just bullies when it comes down to it. I have felt really very bullied this week.I realise that when i first started this job I slagged a few people off when I probably shouldn't have and I have been opinionated about some things, but i haven't said a bad word about anyone for a long time, even when I have wanted to, even when people have tried to start feuds and said horrible things about me when they'd never even met me, when they'd based an opinion on me because of something they'd read. It's hurtful, but it's fine if you want to print a picture of me and say how awful I look, how much weight i've put on or how terrible my choice of clothes were that day. In my opinion it's still a form of bullying and if anyone spoke to any of my friends like that to their faces i'd want to kill them. But character assasination is another thing it's just not needed. I turned up and presented an awards ceremony for charity, i drank some champagne and went home for 12.30 and again I've been made to feel like a bad friend and an embarassment to my fans and the people who support me. I shouldn't have to defend myself when i've done nothing wrong. And by the way, to all the photographers waiting outside my house. I won't be leaving for a while, all my friends have gone to Bestival and i've got enough food and fags to last me till wednesday, so you might as well f*** off and find somebody else to make miserable.

September 16, 200816 yr Author 13 Sep 2008 Crckbrry I am loving my new Blackberry Bold.You can send voice notes on blackberry messenger which is quite fun , like talking to someone without actually talking to them (whatever next ?) I know it's slightly sacriligious to say so here, but you can have a Facebook application on your blackberry. And it has sudoku. sorry to nerd out, but i thought i'd share.
September 16, 200816 yr Author 15 Sep 2008 Album Release Date My new album will be released on the 9th of Feb 2009. I know it's a while away, but there will be bits and bobs flying around before then, I'm shooting a video(for viral release) in the next couple of weeks , to keep you entertained . I am so excited, were getting all the artwork and stuff done and coming up with new and interesting ideas. I am trying really hard to do this album with integrity and I want you all to know that it has been thought about by me, not just some thrown together last minute industry bullshizz. I hope you'll all love it as much as I do, I'm working on extra stuff in the studio at the moment , it seems making an album isn't enough these days, some websites (not naming any!) wont put an album on their front page unless you give them exclusive tracks, not that i'm complaining, I am at my happiest in the studio so it works well for me, I just don't want to put out sub standard stuff . I always thought an album was a body of work in itself. you take it or leave it . You wouldn't say to a painter "yeah i love the naked ladies ,but would you mind painting their hair blonde instead of brown, and making their t*ts a bit bigger?" or " the trees are really pretty, a few more leaves perhaps?"
