February 9, 200817 yr Bizarre or not this seems most likely to happen in some way. Why is everyone so against it? If say Bolton Vs Man Utd takes place in New York instead of playing at Bolton to garner sponsorship $$$ much of which would go to the home team for missing it's home advantage, then I think you have a win-win situation? Hmm well that example, Bolton vs Man Utd, just shows me what's wrong with the idea. Bolton are a very difficult team to beat at the Reebok Stadium, they beat Man Utd 1-0 this season there. Take away that home advantage, and i don't think we would have seen the same result, most likely a Man Utd win. This would mean Bolton would be 1 point ahead of the relegation zone instead of the 4 they currently are. They may get money for it, but im sure they'd rather get the win at home and get as far away from the bottom 3 as they can. Just my opinion though :P

February 9, 200817 yr This has gained almost universal opposition. According to todays Sun (not THAT reliable I know, but still) Japan (the main target) and Australia have both said they will NOT stage a Premier League match as they want to promote their own leagues instead. The same applies to America 'for now' as they want to continue the current growth in the MLS. So if half of the target markets (aswell as ATLEAST 3/4 of Premier League fans) opposing the move already I'd hope the Premier League and the 20 chairmen take this on board. I was listening to 5Live earlier and an Everton fan said he's been a season ticket holder for as long as he can remember and if it does go ahead the home game before the match abroad would be his last ever visit to Goodison Park. I hope more fans would take this stance. I know eI would. If Forest were in the Premeir LEague and it happened I would quite happily burn my Forest shirt and support either Mansfield (next local) or someone lower down. It's the most ridiculous thing ever and would make the death of the Premiership a lot quicker. Edited February 9, 200817 yr by RabbitFurCoat

February 10, 200817 yr I thought Notts County would have been your next local team. technically it will probably be a small non league team :kink:
February 10, 200817 yr I thought Notts County would have been your next local team. They're more of a rival! And I've always preferred Mansfield!
February 18, 200817 yr  WTF is this all about. The Premier League is already known as the best league in the world -_- hence all the foreign players playing and wanting to play in it so why do we need to showcase it. Premiership teams already play more games than anyone else in Europe without a Winter break so why add another. This is just The Premier League trying to make more money and not giving a monkeys toss about the players or the fans.
February 18, 200817 yr  WTF is this all about. The Premier League is already known as the best league in the world You are getting a bit carried away there. Premiership is good but how many TRULY world class stars have come over here from abroad to play in the premiership when they are already established world stars ? not even Chelsea with their £200k a week wages have been able to attract the likes of Kaka, Gattuso, Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and similar, most of the foreigners that have come here have been unproven youngsters who were not world class at time of joining (Fabregas, Essien for example), has been's on one last pay day (half the Bolton team for instance) or flops from other leagues (Adebayor, that guy who scores loads for Blackburn who got about 1 in 10 in Germany) so I would put the Premiership behind Serie A and La Liga in terms of both quality of players and teams.
February 18, 200817 yr Going back to the point at hand I really don't see the big deal tbh, selling loads of shirts in Asia and America which is the prime objective of this exercise will make all premiership clubs more competitive in the global transfer market financially leading to better quality players for the season ticket holders of these clubs to see play Season ticket holders will still get to see their 38 games in the UK so its not as if anyone is losing out by this I would prefer it if they were non points scoring matches / exhibition games but if it is going to improve the standard of the premiership then I am all for it

There are already too many Non UK Players here and with Fifa looking set to bring in the rule of a minimum of 5 or 6 English players surely this would be a complete waste of time. -_- Also, it would be nice to see a team lifting the English Premiership with English players. ;)

Add to that the likes of O'Shea, Giggs and Fletcher who are all British and played their part in Utd's title last year.

I wouldn't mind Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or anyone else winning the Premiership this year other than that foreign team Arsenal. If they win the ENGLISH premiership not One single English player will lift it. Oh, apart from Walcott who as a young promising player they are slowly ruining.
February 18, 200817 yr Oh, apart from Walcott who as a young promising player they are slowly ruining. ...because he's not French :arrr:
February 18, 200817 yr -_- And before anyone says anything this is not because i am a Spurs fan. I just want to see more English players playing and it looks like at Arsenal they are never gonna get given the chance. -_-
February 18, 200817 yr It will be a travesty if the Scum win the title this season, I am quietly confident they won't win it but if they do it will be a disaster for the game given that they don't have English players in the team
February 18, 200817 yr Wenger says his next bunch of youngsters are all English though. Should we trust him?
February 18, 200817 yr Wenger says his next bunch of youngsters are all English though. Should we trust him? Trust Wenger - Nooooooo. If Arsenal have got English youngsters where were they when they played Spurs in the Carling Cup Semi Final. It's clear they weren't interested in winning this competition so why not give them a runout. The reason there were none on show is because he's a lying frog and a man who says that Nani should have been sent off just for showing a bit of skill and that Arsenal are not cheats when Gallas clearly kicked Nani and Adybaor clearly dived shows that he lies. Arsenal are one of the worst teams for Red cards and diving And as most opposition fans sing same old Arsenal always cheating. So would i trust Wenger. Never. Edited February 18, 200817 yr by CJDADJ
February 18, 200817 yr I would sooner buy a used car off Arthur Daley than believe a word of Wenger Look at the Scum team in 5 years time it will be full of players from countries 90% of people couldn't identify on a map with 1 token Englishman on the bench
