February 9, 200817 yr She was performing Mercy on T4 and after she finished Alexis goes: "Aww I love Anastacia" Quite funny. :/ Is it true she's released albums before this one? I wouldn't mind checking them out..
February 9, 200817 yr She was performing Mercy on T4 and after she finished Alexis goes: "Aww I love Anastacia" Quite funny. :/ what an insult to Duffy! Then again, Alexa was probably too coked off her head to realise she just wasn't being very funny. At all.
February 14, 200817 yr i like duffy..... got an interesting voice, prefer her 60's esque material to amy $h!tehouse anyday!
February 14, 200817 yr Where you get a comparison to Anastasia from I have no idea, mind you where Duffy's PR got their comparison to Dusty Springfield from is an equal mystery. Alexa Chung has become such an unfunny f***wit of late - ever since that awful comedy show with Ben Elton. She's become the female version of Nick 'Grimmy' Grimshaw - a w*n**r basically.
February 14, 200817 yr I really like 'Mercy' but I'm not fond of 'Rockferry', so I'm unsure about this.
February 14, 200817 yr Mercy would be an excellent Dusty-like #1 followup to one of the best songs ever, You Don't Have To Say You Love Me?. Feels that way to me anyhoo. :P
February 14, 200817 yr The album has got a little bit of a kicking in this month's The Word magazine (in stark contrast to an ecstatic review of Goldfrapp's Seventh Tree).
February 14, 200817 yr The album has got a little bit of a kicking in this month's The Word magazine (in stark contrast to an ecstatic review of Goldfrapp's Seventh Tree). Still better reviewed than Adele though.
February 14, 200817 yr Mercy would be an excellent Dusty-like #1 followup to one of the best songs ever, You Don't Have To Say You Love Me?. Feels that way to me anyhoo. :P They are two completely different songs (+ voices) though.
February 14, 200817 yr They are two completely different songs (+ voices) though. I actually agree that Duffy is very like Dusty Springfield.
February 14, 200817 yr I actually agree that Duffy is very like Dusty Springfield. In what way though? They look alike and have the same retro vibe as eachother to their music, but their voices are really different.
February 14, 200817 yr In what way though? They look alike and have the same retro vibe as eachother to their music, but their voices are really different. I think its the sound of the music and melody - her voice is different of course. I still thought of Dusty when I first heard Rockferry, though.
February 14, 200817 yr I havn't heard Rockferry yet so I can't comment on it. I'm going to buy/download the album with a blind-eye, so hopefully I will be surprised. :D
February 15, 200817 yr Seeing as Duffy's Mercy is set to be this week's #1 on downloads alone, does that mean that Nickleback's Chad Kroeger will utter a well known British comedy phrase at the ex-Suede guitarist largely responsible for Dufy's success.......... http://www.onthebusesfanclub.co.uk/newsite/images/blakey.jpg
