I really don't like Azerbaijan's entry, but I think you're severely underestimating it. A little too optimistic for the Czech Republic as well I think.

Carola & Andreas Johnson 2/1 faves with Expekt to win 'Melodifestivalen', with Amy Diamond 5/2 second favourite.
Given she also participated in 1983 and 1991, one would already have come to the conclusion that Carola loves Eurovision :P
They've overtaken Amy Diamond then as she was initial favourite :o Can't wait to hear their song

Yeah perhaps my own opinion of the Czechs is showing a bit there. :heehee: Not sure about Azerbaijan either... I suppose they'll benefit like Armenia diaspora-wise? I still don't see the attraction to the song though :(

too optsimistic for Malta and Denmark

I reckon Denmark could do really well. :o I think it could get the "older viewer" vote. And Malta should do alright too. :D

They got the same vote in 2005 with Talking To You :) Norway benefited from the 'older viewer' vote in 2003 :)

Well they will have the diaspora on their side, but as far as the song goes, it has a spectacular performance, something which the other 14 songs so far this year are lacking. That's got to work in its favour, because at the moment if you watch all the videos it stands out.

As for the song itself, like yourself I'm not keen, but then again we haven't heard a good quality recording of it yet and it will be reworked for the Contest itself, so you never know.

perhaps we should send Rhydian to Eurovision :o

Ok here's what I reckon now. I have taken into account your views on Azerbaijan too Peter! I can kinda see its appeal now too. :(

Switzerland 7/1

Malta 8/1

Norway 8/1

Denmark 10/1

Czech Republic 12/1

Azerbaijan 14/1

Slovenia 14/1

Andorra 16/1

Hungary 16/1

Albania 20/1

Estonia 20/1

Cyprus 25/1

Belarus 25/1

Moldova 25/1

Lithuania 200/1

I can't work out Estonia - it could go either way! I can really see Switzerland's good stuff though atm, so I reckon that will do pretty well, and the Norweigan entry is instantly catchy. :o Malta will (so far) get the dance vote, and Denmark the older viewer vote I'm reckoning. Lithuania is a good candidate for nul points imo, even Estonia and Latvia should desert this piece of $h!t!

I agree with that pretty much. Personally I can't see the appeal in the Norwegian entry; I think it's a bit bland especially compared to the other songs in the national final, but I think I'm alone in that and it would seem most people like it.

I would place Moldova way below Lithuania, but it'll get a few from Romania and Ukraine I guess. And as for Switzerland, it's far and away my favourite so far, so I hope you're right, but I'm not sure what the rest of Europe will think of it. Have to wait and see I suppose.

Hmm I reckon about 5/1 for Turkey as well. :o

Aww Malta is such a nice little country, and we give points as if they are our neighbour

Denmark has a lot of good music; Aqua, Alphabeat, Infernal, Cammille Jones, Ida Corr, both with Fedde, Whigfield, Christina Milton etc etc etc, almost as good as their northernly neighbour sweden

PaddyPower...

Who will win Your Decision and represent the UK at this year's Eurovision?

The Revelations 2 - 1

Andy Abraham 5 - 2

Michelle Gayle 3 - 1

Simona Armstrong 11 - 2

Rob McVeigh 7 - 1

LoveShy 8 - 1

A bet for LoveShy would be money well spent I'm thinking! You may remember last year that Scooch and Cyndi were the two with the worst odds for the time before the show, so these don't mean anything really.
