Well, what happened to them?

I think they were a good enough band with some great tunes, although most of them sound the same ;)

I have their Greatest hits but are they releasing anything anytime soon?

Travis are currently in Rak studios, London, recording tracks for their forthcoming album which is to be released later this year.

their last album was a flop which i thoght was ashame as it was their 2nd best album (IMO)

I like Travis. I'll look forward to that new album.

What was the album that was a flop? I have The Mano Who and The Invisible Band. Have their been any other albums since then?

Yeah they had that album a few years back with that song "Re offender" on it. <_<

Can't remember what it was called though

I liked them, got the greatest hits and went off them rather a lot... I'm sure there's something to be taken out of that.

I always thought it was a bit bloody cheeky of them to do a "Greatest Hits" album after only really having two or three albums out.... Personally, I think an artist should wait til album 5 before considering a "greatest hits" collection. But of course in the case of The Verve it was more to do with it being a Corporate Cash-in, cos the band had split...

Greatest Hits = Corporate Cash-in regardless of when they come out.

Travis, of course, had the cheek to release the same hit multiple times from "Writing to Reach You" onwards. Their best moment remains "All I Wanna Do is Rock" - the closest they've ever come to a good song.

I like Tied To The Nineties best, then All I Want To Do Is Rock. Turn is still pretty good to, and Driftwood but I'm not bothered about the rest now...

Greatest Hits = Corporate Cash-in regardless of when they come out.

True, but they can be a pretty good entry point for new fans coming in, especially when you're dealing with the likes of The Cure or Nick Cave who've been around for almost 30 years and any newbie may feel a bit lost in where the best place to start would be....

Hmm...ok you have a point there. "An introduction to John Cale" is one of my favourites...it's all his most accessible work in one little bundle.

I like some of their songs especially Turn and Peace The F**k Out :)

Yeah, they're a great band. I have the albums 'The Man Who' and 'The Invisible Band'.

I think their early stuff was good too, especially 'Tied To The 90s', i bought that single.
