Posted February 24, 200817 yr I have just been to see it and it isnt a film i would usually be interested in, but the action scenes in this film are bloody (literally lol) amazing! Although the bits in between i found a bit boring! but i would definately give it a 7/10 I dont like Sylvester either he speaks like he is drunk and you never understand what hes saying! lol
February 24, 200817 yr I'll wait till it's out on DVD. It is apperently one of the most violent actions films ever, with Rambo killing something like 400 people

February 24, 200817 yr Author It is amazingly gory and is one of the most violent films ive ever seen!
February 24, 200817 yr I nearly went to see this yesterday but plans fell through. All reviews I've read have been so mixed though, I guess it's one of them that judgement has to be fully reserved until the film has been seen. No prior indication, etc. etc.

I'll give it a 8/10..
February 28, 200817 yr A pretty sickening film I thought... Not the violence really (although some of that is pretty damned disturbing....), what I meant is that it is sickening in the sense that it completely trivialises the very real horror that is going on in Burma, by boiling it down into some sort of stupid, monosyllabic, one-note action film... I was rather hoping for more of a return to the original "First Blood" in the way that it actually did deal with some pretty weighty themes pretty well, unfortunately all we got was just another stupid action film, albeit one with some horrifically realistic-looking violence... 5/10 from me, mostly for Stallone's admittedly rather good direction, certainly not for the "plot"....
March 4, 200817 yr It took 19 years before they made another Rambo film....Now his too old and his body was not as like before.

March 4, 200817 yr It took 19 years before they made another Rambo film....Now his too old and his body was not as like before. Yeah, I reckon this is one film where Stallone should have stayed behind the camera. A really good opportunity was missed here to do a "Batman Begins" type of thing with Rambo, to have it go back to the original intent, a fairly intelligent film with action (which is what the original "First Blood" was), as opposed with merely an "action film" with barely any intelligence gone into it at all.... A younger actor playing Rambo (possibly someone like Christian Bale or Benicio Del Toro) would've been a good idea also I reckon...
March 5, 200817 yr about to watch this now [possibly illegally through the internet :arrr: ] i dont care if the acting is bad becuase it should be brought up by the violence!
March 5, 200817 yr I heard this was a load of c**p from tons upon tons of people. =/ I don't see how 'violence' makes a movie good unless it's done artistically like in Kill Bill which I highly doubt is the situation with Rambo.
March 6, 200817 yr I don't see how 'violence' makes a movie good unless it's done artistically like in Kill Bill which I highly doubt is the situation with Rambo. Exactly... A film being merely "violent" with no actual point to make other than the violence is a very poor film indeed IMO.. The original "First Blood" was violent, but it also had a very real point to make, there were some pretty important themes running through the film (not least the ones dealing with how the US treats its war veterans and implications that John Rambo himself was part Native American also, more explicitly explored in the book it has to be said...); "Rambo" simply has no real points to make at all, beyond its puerile, underdeveloped attempts to try to explore the genocide taking place in Burma, these intentions however just get trampled on in the empty, sadistic violence of the film....
March 6, 200817 yr Do you guys think the he should choose other actor rather than himself and titling this movie Son of Rambo.
March 6, 200817 yr Author Do you guys think the he should choose other actor rather than himself and titling this movie Son of Rambo. Well funnily enough there is a film called 'Son of Rambow' coming out! lol but its for kids! lol (That W is actually in the word and not an error on my behalf lol)

I thought it was alright - never seen the original films - didnt watch them on tv - wasnt gonna see this - but it filled a hole between two other films i was watching - actually v. surprised - kept me entertained. my mate thought it was the best film this year so far Well funnily enough there is a film called 'Son of Rambow' coming out! lol but its for kids! lol (That W is actually in the word and not an error on my behalf lol) i dont think its for kids...its directed by Garth Jennings (hammer + tong) who did Coffee and TV for Blur and hitchhikers guide to the galaxy - and i think it is more like his reminicing about when he was younger he was younger/about the 1980s - featuring kids rather than being directed at kids - dont think its in the same [football] league as the game plan.
