Im not a huge babe fan either and never was, its an ok songs but some of their other songs and marks solo songs were far more worthy of number 1 than babe.

30 seconds left to go... haha just had a listen to 4 minute warning again. I love the way it counts down after every chorus and then from 1 minute to 30 seconds in the last part of the song.

Babe wasn't my favourite by any means, the best thing about it is the harmonies, the 'im here again,' where have you been' echoing Mark's after he sings them intially

I would have to agree "where have you been" echo was the best part of the song. Four minute warning is a very catchy song especially the chorus and it could be argued it is Mark's best known solo hit.
Ya that line.echo was the stand out from an overall weak single. Its a shame that songs songs like babe and sure have number 1 status when songs like rule the world and the flood dont.
I would have to agree with your point. That said, sales are far more important than chart positions and the songs mentioned have sold in far larger quantities than number 1 hits such as sure or babe.

Ya, many of take that's non number 1 have sold better than a few of there number 1's. For me i would have loved, The Flood, Up all Night and Rule the World to replace, babe, sure and how deep is your love as number 1's.
Looks like there will be a couple more songs to add to this list. Mark's label is pushing his release forward (no time frame though) to get it out before XF starts and focus moves back on TT. I just hope he keeps his solo stuff separate or does a concert solo where he uses the 4 or 5 TT leads he has with his solo stuff, rather than perform it on a TT tour for instance. Im sure he wouldnt though. It could work out well for TT as if his solo stuff is good it could attract more people to have a listen to him on the new TT album
Mark releasing must be imminemt though from that, with Take That been so big it may benefit mark's solo sales.
Four Minute Warning has done extremely well in this vote, i did think the vote may have been a lot closer. Does anyone have any sales for Marks singles?
Dont have any mark sales but i would say four minute warning and child are far his biggest sellers and probably sales of around 200,000 each but i could be totally wrong and sales could be higher.
I expected higher sales for "Child" as wasnt it released and was around for the Christmas Chart.

Child has always been a fav of mine since it's release back in 96. Was Four Minute Warning the track that did well on the back of winning CBB,

Child was certified Silver by the BPI, not sure if Clementine was as well. 4 Minute Warning was just a brilliantly written song, definitely his best.

Can't imagine his albums sold much with two missing the top 40, hazarding a guess whilst looking at their chart run; they would probably total at possibly 30-40k maximum

I would doubt that all his albums combined have managed much more than 250,000 which is a huge shame as his albums deserve that amount of individual sales.

No way has he sold that much Pippa, this is his first albums chart run..

And his third album doesn't even appear on the database. He would be lucky to have 50k sales of albums.

Marks sales would be hard to call, i dont know what sales were like in general around the green man era but slow trickle sales do add up over time so i would like to think he has managed 100,000 album sales in total by now when they are all combined.

100,000 would be nice, but when you take the chart runs into account and the length he was in obsecurity it is possible sales havnt even reached that milestone yet,Green Man may be a tint bit underrated though as he released near christmas time so sales for number 33 then would have been higher than what some albums sell nowadays to reach number 3.
I love 'Close to the Edge'. Now that should deffo have been a single
