Les Rythmes Digitales - Sometimes

This reminds me of a holiday in France in the late 1990s.

This collaboration by DJ Stuart Price with 1980s Pop rival of Howard Jones, Nik Kershaw is superior to any of his work with Madonna this century, and I think would be a potentially huge hit in today's musical climate which is more favourable to New-New-Romantic electro synth pop. Plus the video with all the toys is brilliant too.

Biosphere - Novelty Waves

Geir Jenssen aka Biosphere is a great musician from Norway best known for his ambient masterpieces like Microgravity, Patashnik or Substrata

Novelty Waves is his most upbeat song (really powerful beats!)

Art of Noise - Close (to the Edit)

That's an awesome track, which peaked at No.56 in Aug 99.

Their only Top 40 entry was a remix of Jacques Your Body which peaked at No.9 in 2005, originally No.60 in Oct 99.

I think Sometimes deserves a re-issue.

harvey danger 'flagpole sitta'.... used by mitchel and webb for 'the peep show'

erm... this is RETRO... not got time to check but this is for retro tracks that have been overlooked

Generally derided by Numan fans, this offering peaked at No.34

in February 1988.

Sharpe and Numan - No More Lies

Love the Bourgeois tagg track - just been listening to it this weekend funnily enough.

The Bourgeois Tagg track, now that is a forgotten classic.

Anyway, does anyone fancy a pint of Stella ...........

Scott Walker - Montague Terrace (in Blue) (from "Scott" 1967)

OK, here is a song that allegedly/reportedly Mel C & Mel B wanted to cover as the comeback "Final Farewell" single by the Spice Girls but as Emma & Geri had already co-written Headlines, Victoria decided in favour of an original song instead of this brilliant cover (reportedly because she & their management thought punters would get confused thinking they were covering an old TLC song of nearly the same name.....)

This is girl-power anthem was written by two members of Prince's Revolution .....

Wendy & Lisa - Waterfall (1987)

I think it is safe to say that this is a far better song than the tepid Headlines.....

Aren't they the same Wendy and Lisa doing TV theme music (Heroes and Bionic Woman)
Aren't they the same Wendy and Lisa doing TV theme music (Heroes and Bionic Woman)

Yes, apparently Mel B became friends with one of them living out in LA LA land & hence the power struggle as to what the Spice Girls should have recorded as a farewell single....

Been really loving this recently. Was covered by Morrissey later but this has to be where Gene got the blueprint for their sound from!

Could only find a live version on youtube - it is poor quality!

Bradford - Skin Storm

didn't prince sack them because their sexuality jarred with his religion? Maybe Wendy and Lisa got 'pally' with Mel B, too, especially now Pats is engaged again...?

A damn good dance song is Bentley's Gonna Sort You Out by Bentley Rhythm Ace

Hilarious video aswell... :D

Gonna recommend a track that I put in another thread here but it is brilliant

Weed Bus - The Stairs

Having heard this played on Radio 2 today for the first time in years....., to think this song is 19 years old.

A very powerful message:

Elvis Costello - Tramp The Dirt Down (1989)
