March 13, 200817 yr It's a great single, I think - and likewise, it'll be in with a bullet in my top 20 next week. Having heard the whole of the Portishead album, this was the one track I really didn't think they'd release - but power to them. It's a brave choice. A class single by a class act - but, of course, Joe Public won't 'get' this single at all - or the album, I don't think. There's a track on there called 'We Carry On' and it's positively techno - very strange (but wonderful), but likely to alienate the lounge-fans Portishead seem to attract. I can't wait for the live dates - Portishead are awesome live - one of the best gigs I've ever seen was them headlining the Sunday night at Bristol's Ashton Court open-air festival many moons ago - the sun setting on a balmy day... and Portishead playing as it got dark to a huge home crowd. :wub:
