Posted March 21, 200817 yr i think that stpud Mariah with her dreadful song will reach number 1 b4 her, it's really awful... i hope it doesn't, but i'm afraid it will....
March 22, 200817 yr Heeeey no need to diss Mariah! The difference is that Mariah is a well established megastar in the US and despite her single not being of the amazing standard as some of her previous tracks it will still chart highly based on name alone, same with Madonna and her current dirge. Luckily, Leona has a great team behind her, a cracking single and amazing voice. Personally I hope they both get to #1, Leona next week and then Mariah the week after... considering they're both my favourite artists it would be a great thing to see. ^_^
March 22, 200817 yr Author do u think it's possible for her to stay at number 1 for more than 1 week?
March 22, 200817 yr Usher will remain #1 this week and then Mimi will keep her off the top next week IMO :kink:
March 22, 200817 yr She's climbing on airplay as well. Oprah should do wonders for her in terms of digital sales, so I see a possibility of getting a number 1. And Mariah sells more albums than digital tracks, but her airplay is recently huge... Leona may be number one this week and/or maybe after few weeks after Touch my body? Bleeding love should have its sales increased when the album is out for a week at least. If not this week than maybe then... There is a chance.
March 22, 200817 yr I think it will be next week and possibly the week in which the album comes out. Mariah will be no.1 for the 2 weeks up to the album is released and then the week after cos Mariah's album comes out, depends how good her downloads are in the weeks after this because Leona's single has more longevity but the airplay is a lot to be desired. If she was at 80-90million in airplay, she would probably have been no.1 for like 7-8 weeks cos her downloads will remain high, but oh well.
March 22, 200817 yr I don't think it will make #1 sadly. I think it might be #2 for the next two weeks though. I don't think she'll knock Usher off this week and then when she could have enough to knock Usher from the top Mariah will probably swoop in and take it.
March 23, 200817 yr I hope so! But like many people have said she could JUST get it swiped from her by Mariah! -_- But even if it spends 10 weeks at number 2 (:P lol) Its still an AMAZING achievement for a UK Star to do in America! And just imagine what the OVER ALL sales will be like for 'Bleeding Love' and 'Spirit'
March 23, 200817 yr I hope so! But like many people have said she could JUST get it swiped from her by Mariah! -_- But even if it spends 10 weeks at number 2 (:P lol) Its still an AMAZING achievement for a UK Star to do in America! And just imagine what the OVER ALL sales will be like for 'Bleeding Love' and 'Spirit' Well exactly. As much as everyone is going on about (and rightly so) how much of a big deal it is if Bleeding Love DOES hit #1 in the USA, everyone seems to be forgetting the all-important ALBUM. Forget Bleeding Love, even if Bleeding Love is #1 for 10 weeks in the US - if the album tanks her career (in the US) will hit a huge slump, which will be quite hard to recover from because everyone agrees that a song that is as huge as Bleeding Love is a once in a career kind of success, and likely she'll never get an opportunity like this again so it's hugely important that the album performs well. I'm hoping for Top10 with steady sales, aslong as it goes platinum i'll consider it a huge success. As for future singles, well that's another matter altogether. Where does she go with Spirit in the US after Bleeding Love? It poses a whole set of new questions. The US certainly won't get either Footprints In The Sand nor Better In Time, and the likeliness is that they'll be getting Forgive Me as their second single, possibly followed by Misses Glass as a third. Which again poses more questions. Will the UK get these tracks at some point? Will one of them be Leona's 4th UK single? Does that mean the album is being re-released? It's a long and winding road my friends. One which i'm sure we'll all enjoy along the way. ^_^
March 23, 200817 yr Author she should have released her single at the time when the crappy 'Low' by flo rida was enjoying a 10 week reign at the top..... she could have scrapped him off....but with huge releases by Usher, Mariah and Madonna it will be a much harder task.... Only time will tell, Mariah may not stay at number 1 for more than 2 weeks, it's one of her weakest songs to date.... Leona will have more longevity definitly.....
March 23, 200817 yr If she does get beaten to the Number 1 spot, then at least it will be to a WORTHY artist...
March 24, 200817 yr does the US have any mid weeks at all??? never mind Edited March 25, 200817 yr by leonafan
March 25, 200817 yr Mariah is gaining on Leona now so this week may be her only shot! I just said in the Mariah Forum that it really is difficult to predict. Mariah has huge airplay plus having really decent downloads. Whereas Leona has huge downloads with okay airplay. Which kind of makes them even... I hope they both get to #1 at some point, they're both my favourite artists so i'm really not fussed. Aslong as they're both not pipped at the post by Usher. :arrr:
