Is anyone else getting as tired of them as I am?

To me, all they mean is that the main artist considers themselves not good enough to succeed on their own any longer.

Even Madonna seems finally to have succumbed. :(

I agree entirely. Its like they don't have enough belief in the songs themselves so they draft another name in to reach two fanbases. And what's with the word 'collaboration'. Gone are the days when they used to call it a bog-standard 'duet'.

Doubtless there are millions of these boring things still to come.

I know I want to have my cake and eat it - but I do not include Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse's Valerie in my comments above - because even I could make an exception for the end result of that.

To be honest I don't think any of the 'collaborations' Mark Ronson has done would count because he doesn't sing at all as far as I know. It's almost like it's just an Amy Winehouse song, you wouldn't know Mark Ronson was involved.

I think Timbaland is a little different because you hear his voice some of the time in the songs.

Personally I like duets. In some cases I think it's exciting to hear what some of your favourite artists sound like together. I know a lot of people think it's naff, but I love the original version of "When You Believe" because I love Mariah and Whitney, so hearing them sing together was exciting for me. Some of my favourite songs are duets: "Endless Love" (Luther Vandross & Mariah), "When You're Gone" (Bryan Adams & Mel C), "I Knew You Were Waiting" (George Michael & Aretha), "The Best Things In Life Are Free" (Luther Vandross & Janet Jackson) and "As" (Mary J. Blige & George Michael) are all favourites of mine.

I'm not that into these Timbaland collaborations though, they're alright, but not as good as the songs I previously mentioned.

I still prefer the Zutons version, myself.

There hasn't been a 'collaberation' classic for what feels like absolutely years now. Beyonce & Shakira were huge names but the song didn't really cut it as either of their best. I think for me the last real classic collaberation was Blu Cantrell and Sean Paul on Breathe, although I'm sure I've forgotten a load. :P

I suppose Some one needs too  :P

My favourite Duets are... Nelly and Kelly Rowland! Also I liked Usher and Alicia Keys at the time but now i think its just 'Ok' lol

Shakira and Wyclef Jean was probably the last MAJOR one that i Loved! Actually I lied I like the Timbaland collabs, MarkRonson Colllabs and Rihanna and Ne-yo!
