Yeh but what i am saying is, just because two old albums had a small gap inbetween doesnt mean the next album can't be rushed. Just because they did it back then doesnt mean it can be done every time. With albums, you can go into a studio and come out with a perfect album after a few weeks, others can take months and months to perfect.

I guess it depends on whether they've recorded already or how much time they'll be allocated to record after the tour. If they're booked in to record every week for a few months over summer they'd easily be able to release a very good album, but if they have to promote a 4th single I doubt it'll be achievable. If you think about it though:

Angels - Aug 02

Three - Oct 03

Taller - Oct 05

Overloaded - Nov 06

Change - Oct 07

So three out of four times they've only left it a year between releases. They must work hard and fast. ^_^

But overloaded was a singles collection so included hardly any new material.

So in effect, the gap between the studio albums has been 2 years twice. IMO they should go with that again. Being away for a while can lead to a certain amount of hype which is good. This is one reason why i think GA suffer, there career has been like one long album campaign without a gap.

I think they could've done 10X better with Change and Denial if they had better Promo! Who ever does their promo should be fired because Denial was performed only 3 times to where as AYN was all over if they REALLY promote the new single top 10 at most but my vote would be either My Love Is Pink because its a great dance track or NGDA because it's a proper slow jam where Change was a horrible knock off of it

Denial was actually performed on This Morning, Loose Women, T4, Ant & Dec, which is at least 4 - and I seem to remember a 5th..?

And NGDA is no 'slow jam' :heehee:.

Well it was on lorraine kelly and the album chart show being performed too. I think that was actually more tv performances than AYN?

The reason i cant see their being a 4th single is because they only released the last one on one cd so they didnt expect the 3rd single to sell that many.

I agree with you Robintime. Right now, much as I'd love NGDA to do really well, it's unlikely - they should wait for the new album.

Well what's done is done. -_- Plus it WAS successful. It's their 10th-biggest of 20-odd singles. But NGDA would've done more.
yes i think they should as it at worstit will go top 30 but it will help album sales and i agree change should have never been the 2nd single ,in denial woul dhave done even better if it had been second single
SURELY YES. They need another No.1 from "Change" in UK chart or it'd be a great disappointment for me  :D

Think there is definitely enough good songs left on the album for another single- few would be disasterous with good airplay and promotion but i think standouts would be NGDA and MLIP. I notice a lot of people seem to like 3SOS as well, and personally i think OTD is good.

Only thing- i think NGDA is a fan favourite and is very Sugababes, doesn't really do anything different although does what it does very well, whereas MLIP is more likely to attract some non-fan buyers i think (and fans too!) so may be a better choice.

Confusingly MLIP had a digital only release months ago (the week before the change physical!) and apparently was released to clubs and dance stations but with basicially 0 airplay i believe it failed to chart. The fact its been available for months though makes me wonder if its the only one we can definitely rule out as being the next single.

Also seen a couple of places stating Heidi mentioned in an interview that NGDA will be the next single as the fans like it, but haven't seen the actual interview anyone know if this is right?

I think there was some youtube video where Heidi mentions NGDA, but I could be wrong and either way that was a good four or five months ago now so it's pretty irrelevant; labels change plans all the time, so who knows.

Yeah, MLIP did get a digital release but all that was added was a radio edit which was the exact same as the album edit already readily available on iTunes, so it was entirely pointless. There's no reason at all they couldn't release it next if they wanted to. :P

But if they planned to release MLIP, i'm pretty sure they wouldnt release promo copies out 6 months before release.
Nooooooo. As much as I love 'Never Gonna Dance Again' I wouldn't want it to be released if they're gonna release a new album in October.

What people don't realise and seem to forget is that denial probably gave the record company a loss as a single. The marketing costs for denial will have been very high.

Its not really done much for the album.

It helped the album bounce back from #70 to #32! The album got another 3 weeks inside the Top 40 upon the single's release so it certainly has helped. When all is said and done it will have garnered it an extra 30,000 sales or more probably. If it had done nothing they'd have lowered the cost of the album, and yet it's still at £10 in Woolworths and the supermarkets, so don't worry. :P

The tour will be the bigger revenue earner though. That should make them quite a lot of money. ^_^

Hmmm the difference between 72 and 32 is probably not that many though.

I am looking at this from a financial point of view from the record label. Another single would be pointless IMO.
