Posted May 25, 200619 yr  U-MYX tracks become chart eligible Source: Music Week Tracks released with the U-MYX tool will be chart eligible as of June 5 after the OCC gave clearance to the format. U-MYX is a music format which enables music fans to make personalised mixes of tracks without the need for specialist knowledge or equipment. The U-MYX track and software is pre-installed on CD singles. Meanwhile, U-MYX-enabled tracks from Lily Allen, Fightstar, The Pet Shop Boys and Rooster will also be available for download through 7 Digital. Launched in September 2004, U-MYX has already been adopted by artists including Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Muse, The Killers, Hard-Fi, New Order and Robert Plant. U-MYX co-founder and managing director Olly Barnes says, "We have reviewed the U-MYX download format against all of our criteria for digital formats and can confirm that it is now chart eligible effective immediately."
May 25, 200619 yr Thought it counted anyway myself considering I've got quite a few CDs with that on it.
May 25, 200619 yr U Myx is a brilliant idea - I've got a couple of the singles which has the software!
May 25, 200619 yr I assume u-mix is just a trendy way or writting You Mix? Sounds a brillant idea and I will be looking to buy u-myx tracks asap.
May 25, 200619 yr Re: Chart eligibilty! They're actually referring to paid-for downloads rather than the singles with the software. From what I can make out you'll be able to pay £1.49 for a UMyx track (eg Killers - Somebody told me) and when you have it on your pc you can then load it up with the UMyx software.
May 26, 200619 yr I may be a bit blonde in asking this  but what does U-MYX stand for I Myx U Myx He Myxz We B Myxin' etc... ^_^
