Can't believe the funny rabbit is still No.1 for a 7th week!!!I'm happy for Yael Naim for ridin high this week.But why Janet's "Feedback" reached only No.40?It's a great song-but a flop almost everywhere.And by the way is it possible to have one thread for this chart for the whole year?

No, because there will be too much comments and videos in it and it'll be hard to find the charts of previous weeks. (I know you want it like on UKmix but I think it's just a mess. Sorry.)

German chart comments - Issue Date 4th April 2008

 

As expected no changes at the top of the German chart where Schnuffel remains for a seventh consecutive week. Whether the rabbit will last there for two months depends perhaps on Mark Ronson & Amy Winehouse who are up for a third week in a row and may attack the creature next week. For those in UK "Valerie" may seem old as a dinosaur but it is only the third week after its release in Germany. Speaking of UK, I'm extremely glad to see the wonderful Duffy entering the top 5. Unlike Adele, who flopped outside the top 50, Duffy manages to score a massive hit outside UK, which is just magnificent. Seeing Leona at #2, Amy at #3 and Duffy at #5, it is obvious that 2008 will be the year of the British female power. And if we add Yael (up to 4 from 8), Stefanie Heinzman at #6 and A Fine Frenzy at #8, above 50 % of the top 10 is made of solo female artists...

#20 Madcon - Beggin - Norwegian band Madcon, or short for Mad Conspiracy, is new to the German chart but "Beggin" has already been a huge success in their home country, registering a platinum status there. The song was originally performed by The Four Seasons with Frankie Valli back in 1967, reaching 16 in the States.

#27 Udo Lindenberg - Wenn du durchhängst The biggest success of the German veteran rocker was way back in 1983 with "Sonderzug nach Pankow" which reached #5 in the chart. Actually his other only top 10 hit is "Wunder geschehen" a collaboration with the legendary Nena :wub: in 2003. His latest album "Stark wie Zwei" is to be out in the near future.

#33 Chris Brown - With You - Somewhat disappointing new entry for Chris Brown. "With You" is perhaps his best song so far and though it has been appreciated in the USA, in Germany for now it is failing to set the charts on fire. The song is the second single from his "Exclusive" LP to chart in Germany, after "Wall To Wall" flopped at #59. His debut "Run It" is his only top ten hit with a peak at #5 in 2005.

#40 Janet - Feedback - Though "Feedback" is not a bad song, the fact that it has failed almost everywhere means that something has gone wrong. It is the first single of her latest "Discipline" album.

#63 Michael Jackson ft Akon - The new single of Janet may be considered a flop but at least she unlike her older brother does not rely on old, old, old material. Enough said!

 

To sum it up - not a lot of new entries but a bit of fresh air in the top 10. My predictions are that the end of the rabbit reign is approaching....

Yes and as far as I know DJ Sammy produced Loona too. She is called Charisma btw.

Duffy made it really,but i wonder why Adele flopped?Her song "Chasing Pavements" is not bad at all,nut made it only at no.59!Maybe the next single "Cols Shoulder" will be more popular.Who knows?
