Posted April 18, 200817 yr yay we won! but thats nothing new, we usually win both on monday night (me clare and mark) and thursday (me clare and beth), however last night beth couldnt make it so it was me n clare vs the world! lol. its the first time we have won without beth, we usually come second to a team of 8 :lol: the round that clinched it was 'the round from hell'... a random themed round (5 other rounds, one from each decade, ten tracks and artist to id, one for every year from 61-08). last night it was punk! :). that was the decider as i was the only geezer there with any punk knowlege (and that aint that concise!).

I used to enter a pop quiz years ago, with a couple of mates and we were always winning, mainly due to me knowing most of the answers! In the end there were a couple of people complaining so we either missed the odd week or gave away the prize (which was also booze) to the runners up. We'd be getting 19/20 or even 20/20 most weeks with the runner up not even close...
April 19, 200817 yr In the mid 1990s I took part in a regular Music Quiz on a Tuesday night at a local pub. We also regularly won (again it was for Beer vouchers), but in the end we played with a 5 point handicap (it was always out of 50 points) for each game to give the others a chance. We still won most times. :lol: But on one memorable occasion we were something like 7 points ahead of our usual rivals who normally finished runners up to us, but we got beaten by one point by three male 40-somethings who had dropped by to play for the first and only time. They just happened to be Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding & Dave Gregory (XTC).

April 20, 200817 yr Really miss the music quizzes I used to go to in the late 80's/early 90's with my mate who was older. We went to 5 different pubs Sun to Thu and won nearly every time. Were stoppped from playing in some pubs as the regulars got annoyed despite us giving them beer tokens. Not sure how I'd do now as not too hot on the 90's and noughties.
