I agree, I think it's better for people to submit songs that most of us wont have heard before, if we want to rate songs we've heard before we can play Record of the Decade or something like that. I'd rather see someone entering something like "Right Back At Ya" by the Spice Girls than something like "Wannabe". Seeing that popular songs in the charts haven't won so far is good though.

I bet the English version would have finished significantly lower but people voted for it because it was a bit different...out of the top 10 on the last contest, 8 of the 10 songs had never been UK hits, and one of the remaining two (Sugababes) was a live version...Kosheen's Catch was the only hit single that did well, and even that missed the UK top ten, so no really big hits did well, a lot of people including myself, and I believe RabbitFurCoat for sure are reluctant to vote for them...

That's good news then. I'll probably be reluctant to vote for them too, but I haven't found another song I really like yet that wasn't popular.

a different line-up and a live only verse should have helped bump me up a bit, if people even bothered to look beyond the title
