Quotosibb have chosen the artist who will be representing them in the forthcoming BJSC6. They used internal selection and Beverley Knight was picked after a close contest between her and Maria Lawson. When asked how she felt about being picked Beverley said "I am so honoured to have been selected to represent Quotosibb in the Buzzjack Song Contest, I'm so excited, I've got Jools Holland playing the piano as well so I hope my song will stand out against the dance acts that seem to be the trend this year." We wish Beverley all the best in the contest. Will she stand out or will she look out of place? We will find out in a few weeks.

The official entry

Serebro perform to warm reception in Siobah

Performing at their second date on their 12-date "Opium" tour, Serebro received a warm reception from the Quotosibbian crowd in the 5000 seat Siobal Hall; however Kopecek observers were left worried after a poor vocal performance from lead singer Elena Temnikova, with rumours suggesting she may be coming down with a sore throat. Elena's fellow band members have yet to speak on the matter, but a source close to the band who refused to be named was quoted as saying, "Elena's been doing a lot of vocal practice lately, and we think that at yesterday's energetic performance [in Bokia] she was trying to outsing the crowd and that that may be the reason for her sore throat today. She's been advised to take cough sweets by the tour doctor, and hopefully she should be fine for tomorrow's national final in Herzebania.". Quotosibb are sending Beverley Knight's Black Butta, and are currently considered outsiders for victory in the final on odds of 30/1 from the leading Kopecek bookies Čeklor. Serebro's odds for victory in the final from Čeklor are currently 11/2.

How did i not discover this Gem!

*Runs to iTunes*

It's a good song. :cheer: I think it's the standout track from her album "Music City Soul" and it is one of my favourite songs ever now, even though the album was only released under a year ago. I'm glad to see someone else liking it.

Yep, Come As You Are is brilliant as well. I think nearly everything she does is brilliant though, she's my favourite artist.

I prefer 'Music City Soul' out of all her albums but most people (including Simon) would probably tell you 'Affirmation' is her best album. Both are great albums actually, I don't know how to explain it but they're both very different. 'Music City Soul' described as "old school soul music" whereas 'Affirmation' is more commercial, but it's still great.

I think you should listen to some clips of both and decide because it's hard to tell which will be liked most by anyone. ^_^

Thanks ^_^ i'll give both a listen on iTunes tomorrow

:w00t: I hope you like them.

The 7 artists who will be going for the chance of representing Quotosibb have been revealed to be:

Maria Lawson (with two songs)

Joss Stone

Estelle

India.Arie

Alesha Dixon

Kelly Rowland

Alicia Keys

The eight songs will be split into two groups and the top two from each group, voted by other countries, will then be put in a final four and the winner will be decided by the Quotosibb public. This format is different to last time when Beverley Knight was chosen by internal selection. Quotosibb is hoping the public will help them follow up the success they had in the previous contest.

Details of the songs will be revealed over the next few days. It is said that "I Am Not My Hair" is the most likely option for India.Arie but the others are keeping everything under wraps.

Oooh, intriguing! :heehee:

...and totally not a mild Kopečekfestivalen ripoff. :o

Part of the reason the songs aren't all announced yet is because I only ordered my copy of Maria Lawson's debut album off Amazon last night (how can you say no for 89p?) and I will need a copy of the album to upload the songs onto Youtube. I don't know which two Maria Lawson songs are best anyway and I'm having debating over which Joss Stone song I think is best for this. I think the others are final though.

Well, Kopečekfestivalen is just a rip-off of Melodifestivalen so it's all fair here :heehee: And 89p?! :o I must scan for more albums :smoke:

Yeah, that's too cheap! I really like the tracks I've got and the others I listened to on LastFM, it was in the "Used & New" section but it said it was factory sealed and stuff, so I don't see I should pay £11.98 when I can get it for much less. There was a used one for 25p but I thought that was probably too cheap to be any good.
