January 27, 200916 yr I don't recognise her other hit without listening to it, I did recognise the sound of "Bye Bye Boy" though and considering that was a very minor hit I don't know why, does it sample something? Yeah, maybe I didn't give her or Hooverphonic enough of a chance but they were on the boring side of inoffensive for me. While Stars and Honey Ryder were on the better side of inoffensive. I'd have liked a normal version of the Honey Ryder song, I reckon I would have rated it a lot higher if I could listen to it properly. I have no idea :o her first hit was a cover of an 80's song, not sure if Bye Bye Boy was a cover... I saw Honey Ryder live last month actually, supporting Will Young, I don't even recall them performing Choices so it was either that bland that I couldn't even recall it, or they actually didn't perform it  I do recall thinking that they were a good support act at the time...

I've tried to see if it was but it doesn't look like it. It just doesn't seem likely that I'd know a 2004 #13 but the "Bye bye baby you've got to understand, you're acting like a boy but I'm looking for a man" but sounds so familiar. I think they sound decent, I can't find anything by them anywhere. I just remembered how I know them, they're that act that randomly appeared in the top 40 last year.

Ah right, that's a bit shifty. It's a good way to get short term attention but everyone's forgot it one week later. I couldn't even find "Choices" to download, I was so desperate for a better version. i seem to have just missed out in everyones vote :( You did, it was the 11th song in the semi and then the 13th in the final. It was definitely in that impossible to cut down batch for me. While some people perhaps had heard it too long in advance, maybe I didn't listen to it enough.
February 2, 200916 yr Author It's early days yet so here are some early ideas of mine for XIV. Cex00CO5Dbg September - Can't Get Over (Wideboys Remix) This will probably be a hit by the time the contest starts. I wish I had heard this song sooner, I love it and the Wideboys cando no wrong for me. imnZBq4vQ9I Girls Aloud - Sexy! No No No... (Flip & Fill Remix) EUNhuHHvs2Q Rachel Stevens - Sweet Dreams My LA Ex (Flip & Fill Remix) Since people are liking the new Calvin Harris song at the moment, I thought I'd try and find some similar songs that I like. Both are 'cheap' songs though and although it'ss my fave GA song, I know a lot of people think it's trash. :( M7-SmwgTSx0 "Girls Aloud" - Memory Of You I know this is asking to do exactly the same as "Singapore" but I think it's better than that. I really like it! :o (though with GA songs that's usually a bad sign) It seems to be Kimberley feat. Nicola for some reason. So yeah, all early ideas and probably all stupid ones at that but I thought I'd make an ATTEMPT at starting. -_-
February 4, 200916 yr Author Also considering: Mat9ORRMwNQ Faithless ft. Estelle - Why Go? Embedding is disabled but yeahhh... Bah, I just don't know this month. I can only think of cheap things. I'm kinda keen on sending "Memory Of You" but I don't know if I want to be the fifth person to send "Girls Aloud".

February 4, 200916 yr The remixes are just asking to flop IMO and Memory Of You isnt all that good LOL, so really i'd say Can't Get Over is probably the best bet there i'd say. Im not really sure how Why Go? would do though.
February 4, 200916 yr Author Rontvia behind me? Yes? I just didn't think either were that appealing. The remixes are just asking to flop IMO and Memory Of You isnt all that good LOL, so really i'd say Can't Get Over is probably the best bet there i'd say. Im not really sure how Why Go? would do though. Well all remixes tend to flop, maybe I'll save them for a spin-off or something. It looks like that wont happen for a long time though... "Memory Of You" is one of the first Girls Aloud songs I'm properly addicted to other than "The Promise" and S!NNN... so I thought people might like it. But you're one of their biggest fans in the contest so if you don't like it....I'm one of the only people who likes Kimberley best as well. It just sounds like a good dance track to me. "Can't Get Over" is probably the cheapest too, the remixes are both top 5 hits but by the time final voting is on this could be one too. :/ Do you like "Why Go?" or do you think it's rubbish?
February 4, 200916 yr Memory Of You is excellent...although I probably wouldn't give it points as I'm already quite bored of it  still should have been on the album in place of Fix Me Up though
February 4, 200916 yr Author Memory Of You is excellent...although I probably wouldn't give it points as I'm already quite bored of it  still should have been on the album in place of Fix Me Up though :( It was released at an unfortunate time which means I probably can't send it then. It was too late for XIII, but they were being used anyway, and it'll be too late by the time XIV is on. Shame, it's one of 'their' better songs I think. "Fix Me Up" is one of the few tracks from their newest album that I actually like, "We Wanna Party", "Revolution In The Head" or "Live In The Country" would have been better exclusions. They were never gonna put a Kimberley and Nicola only track on the album though and I don't think it'd be as good with the girls added. Edited February 4, 200916 yr by Aaron™
February 4, 200916 yr I'd gladly have it on the album over the awful Live In The Country and Untouchable but really it isnt all that special. I like the fact that they've given my 2 favorite members a song of their own though.

I like the fact that they've given my 2 favorite members a song of their own though. I'm not keen on "Untouchable" either. Bah, I should have known when I really liked a song of theirs no one else would like it much. S!NNN and The Promise are my other two favourites and they aren't really fan faves either. I just feel it sounds like it'd go down well here and I know it's only two opinions but I guess I'm wrong!
February 4, 200916 yr why u just dont try to send something else instead of GA :nocheer:...it would be even better if u send a song 4-5 years old that hasnt been released in UK at all but were BIG in certain EU countries...im sorry but im just tired of GA.
February 4, 200916 yr The Promise is very good and got to #1 in my chart but i just feel that it isnt one of their best and didnt deserve #1 when the far superier Biology, Something Kinda Oooh and Call The Shots missed out. Sexy No No No is brilliant though and rather underated as far as Girls Aloud singles go. I really dont understand how someone can struggle to think of something to enter, i have about a billion songs id like to enter. You could go with one of the Estelle singles from 2004/5 perhaps? Go Gone and Free in particular were brilliant.

I see what you mean but "Memory Of You" is only two members of Girls Aloud so it's a bit different. They probably are the most used artist now, so I guess I'll try to find another option. I didn't really listen to music 4-5 years ago and I'm not really a big fan of Europop generally. Robyn, September and The Cardigans is about as far as I go. Go Gone and Free in particular were brilliant. Well yeah, I don't like those three others as much but "Call The Shots" is up their with their best I guess. As for S!NNN, it seems to be the song most people who don't usually like GA love but the fans don't get why. I have loads of songs I could enter but I'm far too tactical to send them. I try sending things that I like but have some crossover appeal. I don't think an Estelle only song will go down that well (see "No Substitute Love") but maybe the collaboration with Faithless would appeal to dance fans and Estelle fans. I reckon Robyn and M.I.A. did well for me because they both appeal to pop and alternative fans while something like the Saturdays or the Libertines would appeal to one or the other. Yes, I think it through too much and yes it'll just make me look more stupid when I fail to qualify at some point but until then...
February 4, 200916 yr Your putting way too much thought into this tbh IMO. I just tend to go with what i feel, the only time i havent was with Superhuman (and look how well that did). I think Go Gone in particular would do much better than No Substitute Love.

I think Go Gone in particular would do much better than No Substitute Love. Probably, I guess it's because since IX I've been doing this and while I haven't won, my worst result has been 11th since then so it seems to work for me and I'm worried about breaking out of it now. I think the songs I've been considering this month would appeal to a different group of people so that's some change at least? I go with what I feel as well and this time I thought "Memory Of You" was that, but I'm obviously wrong this time. I expect I've got something great in my iTunes but I don't know it. Your Kelly Osbourne song for example, I had known of that for a while but I thought it'd get a bad reaction here because it rips off another song and she's only famous for her parents. I'd send "Go Gone" but I feel "No Substitute Love" wouldn't have made it if it went through te semis, so I don't see "Go Gone" making it.
