June 25, 200817 yr Author I really feel you should send Maria Lawson with 'Black Mona Lisa', it's obviously a song you really like which imo is the most important thing and if you don't send it you'll be forever wondering how it could ave done. I reckon that, although it's not quite a winning song, that it would do very well with a solid top ten placing ;) I do really like it, but I don't think it quite has wide appeal that would draw others to vote for it. I thought that Estelle wouldn't win, but thought it would probably finish top 10 or just outside it and I was wrong there. I'm less confident about this song so she might finish last. :drama: I really like this Sara Bareilles song too and I think it's got more potential in this contest. I just wanted to see what people thought about Ellie Campbell, but it doesn't seem to have got a good response so far - she might be a bit cheesy and too 1999 to succeed. (even though it's from 2001) Edited June 25, 200817 yr by Adi_Gallia
June 25, 200817 yr Oooh That Sara Bareilles song would probably get points from Ojnoj too ^_^ I prefer it to Maria TBH! :o I need to listen to the Ellie one :)
June 25, 200817 yr Author Oooh That Sara Bareilles song would probably get points from Ojnoj too ^_^ I prefer it to Maria TBH! :o I need to listen to the Ellie one :) That's good, I really liked 'Fairytale' when I first heard it too. It's quite catchy, which a song needs to be in this contest as opposed to a slow grower.
June 26, 200817 yr yeah, I think Fairytale would make a good single for Sara, it's very radio friendly
July 2, 200817 yr Author Quotosibb officials have announced that Sara Bareilles is going to FSR Rontvia to represent Quotosibb with 'Fairytale' in the eighth edition of the BuzzJack Song Contest. This is a different direction from the last two entries Quotosibb have sent after finishing 24th with Estelle. We spoke to Sara earlier and asked how she felt about representing Quotosibb. "I'm pleased to be asked to return to the contest. I've already represented FSR Rontvia in the past and won it for them, I hope I can do it again for Quotosibb. I just hope there isn't a backlash from Rontvians, since that's where the contest happens to be taking place this time. I don't want to be booed out of town" Sara Bareilles won the fourth edition of the BuzzJack Song Contest with her song, "Love Song", beating The Pipettes by 5 points. She isn't the first winner to be asked to perform again - Katharine McPhee won the second contest for Boika with "Dangerous" but when she returned with "Open Toes", a song about shoes, she finished 22nd for Angelicland. We only hope Sara doesn't have a similar fate this time. Another returning winner has been announced this month with winner of the first contest, former Mdice entrant, Britney Spears scheduled to perform for Eledan. At least one of them will lose their winning streak this time, we know who we want it to be. - - The Quotosibb Daily
July 26, 200816 yr Author After finishing 16th in the eighth edition of the Buzzjack Song Contest, Sara Bareilles and Quotosibb are said to be disappointed, but accepting of the result. The poor result is being blamed on the "curse of the returning winner" by some and by others it is because it was thought of as a "safe entry" as Sara gave one of her strongest performances to date. Quotosibb are going to change direction this month and are seriously considering sending Santogold to the ninth edition of the contest, to be held in Nonsuch after Lily Allen won for them by a margin of one point. At the moment three songs are under consideration, they are "Creator", "You'll Find A Way" and "Lights Out". When asked why "L.E.S. Artistes" wasn't under consideration, the selection committee explained that it was already a big hit around the Buzzjack World and might be too well known to enter this contest. 3VnPrpONJvk Creator 95Tjhy24DeU You'll Find A Way CVIedQ88rxY Lights Out Opinions on the three songs please. ^_^ I'm leaning towards "You'll Find A Way", but I'll see what others think first.
July 26, 200816 yr OMG. YES. I LOVE YOU. YOU OFFICIALLY ARE AMAZING. Creator would probably do the best, but You'll Find A Way could do quite well - I reckon the Switch & Sinden remix would do better. Lights Out is fab but probably too indie to gain widespread popularity :( I CAN'T GET OVER HOW AMAZING YOU ARE FOR THIS
July 26, 200816 yr I would personally prefer Light Out from the three, but I agree that You'll Find A Way would probably be a better bet. Creator sounds bloody awful in my opinion!! Edited July 26, 200816 yr by Peter30

I don't think it's that much of a disadvantage on the song though. You'll Find A Way was the first song I heard from her I think, it was on Fifa 08 or something. :heehee: It was a free song in iTunes as well a few months ago. I just gave the remix a listen and I think that it's maybe a bit too obscure for this. That's if this is the right version: RzKaqAR9Zjo I think I prefer the original if so. As for Lights Out, I get your point, I think it might have a few fans, but maybe not enough to do well enough. I'll see what others think though. I just thought of something, isn't Lights Out getting a release soon? I very much doubt that it will dent the charts here, but that could pose a problem for it.
July 26, 200816 yr Yes, 'Lights Out' is getting a relese next month. Out of the three tracks 'You'll Find A Way' is the best imo.
July 26, 200816 yr You'll Find A Way :cheer: I may now have to invest in her album! :drama: THANKS ADI! <_< I cant afford it at the moment

July 26, 200816 yr Author I just absolutely adore Santogold :heehee: I reckon the advert would help rather than hinder Creator, as people will be slightly familiar with it but not that familiar :o Oh right. I guess I see what you mean about Creator, but people seem to be swinging towards You'll Find A Way, like I was. I don't know whether to listen to people though after my flops. I was probably going to go for one of these anyway though so it's just good to hear what people think.
July 27, 200816 yr After buying Santogold's album last week I'd say those 3 (along with LES Artistes, obv) are the standouts. Though I'd definitely go for 'You'll Find A Way' for this.
August 1, 200816 yr Author Right, I'm eliminating 'Creator' from this and it's now between "Lights Out" and "You'll Find A Way". I'm getting the vibe that people like "Lights Out" more, but think "You'll Find A Way" will do better. There's also the fact that "Lights Out" is getting a release soon, so I don't know if it's a suitable entry. Can I have any more opinions?
August 2, 200816 yr Say Aha is amaze too BTW  But yeah, You'll Find A Way would probs do better ^_^
August 25, 200816 yr Author Santogold 11th, Solange for BJSCX? Quotosibb are said to be pleased and disappointed in their performance in the last contest. Santogold performed "You'll Find A Way" which was enough to get 11th place and Quotosibb's second top half of the scoreboard finish after Beverley Knight won in Quotosibb's debut contest. The only disappointment is that Santogold was so close to finishing top 10 as she tied with Jester's Kindgom's Alizee who finished in 10th place with "Moi Lolita" due to a stipulation in the rules that places countries who received points from more countries higher on the scoreboard. However, Quotosibb are pleased that they didn't flop after they took a risk with a more obscure song compared to their usual entries and were surprised at finishing so high after Rontvian odds placed Santogold in the bottom three at one point. Now BJSCX is coming up and Quotosibb are unsure where to go next for their entry. There have been rumours that Solange has been approached to perform 'Cosmic Journey' after the 6 minute length doesn't look so bad when a song nearly 9 minutes long has been confirmed already. 'Cosmic Journey' has been described as "an obscure song that you would not expect to hear from a sibling of Beyoncé" . But people behind the scenes are worried that this may be shaping up to be BJSCVII part two with BJSCVII participants Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Dima Bilan, Mira Craig, Imogen Heap and The Saturdays already lined up to return. So Quotosibb are unsure whether to go for her this time. k7q8MAbIyv8 Solange ft. Bilal - Cosmic Journey Of course, this is just a rumoured entry to test the waters I guess. Opinions? Is it too long?
August 25, 200816 yr Author Great choice Aaron! Would definetly get some points from me. Thanks, I'm still not certain as to whether I should go for it though. It's 6 minutes long which is very risky, people might not want to listen to it all. Then there's the fact that it's quite an odd song so I don't know how it would do.
