This week, MGMT manage an impressive 2 entries - the hit Time to Pretend and (hopefully) the new single, the sublime Electric Feel (surely one of the songs of the year so far?).

 

It's a doubler for Adele, too, with her Hometown Glory climbing the top 10 after re-entering my chart a fortnight ago, and the new single Cold Shoulder in at 14.

 

Proving the single wasn't a fluke, Last Shadow Puppets released a pretty impressive debut this week, an album which sounds like it's going to be providing tracks for quite a few of my future charts. In the meantime, the debut single reigns supreme at number one on my chart.

 

Another band releasing a classic album this month are Portishead - the cosmic Machine Gun holds still at 3 after its run at the top spot.

 

Goldfrapp couldn't quite dislodge Last Shadow Puppets, and it remains at number two.

 

Ones to watch this week are Yazoo's classic Nobody's Diary (Hercules and Love Affair have done some remix duties for Yazoo - prepare to be amazed), Black Kids' brilliant 'Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend' and Dutch duo Kraak and Smaak's excellent 'Squeeze Me', from their superb new album 'Plastic People' - I think we'll be hearing rather a lot from this pair this year.

And yeah, 'Electric Feel' is fantastic. I do hope they release 'Kids' as well though. :wub:

'Kids' is really superb - as is The Youth - another album highlight that could do well as a single, I think.
