Glad Toxic did well, and Viva Forever. shame Because of you and Left outside alone didn't quite get in the top 10.

Fighter should have been a lot higher too.

Thats a very Buzzjack top 5 :manson:

I am however pleasantly suprised to see the Arctic Monkeys at 7 - there may be hope for the website yet!

Thanks for this amazing countdown, Rich!

Whoa, the worst song in the top ten (well, the second worst after Arctic Monkeys) won...after good songs winning the past years I guess it was going to happen. Toxic is an average pop track (barely average), nowhere Britney's best and certainly not even top twenty worthy here but then again, that's just IMO.

I'd have rather 'Viva Forever' or 'Umbrella' winning out of the top 10 songs but at least it isn't the awfully dull 'Say It Right' which I predicted would win back in February:

I'm excited about this game, I've never taken part before. I think 'Nelly Furtado - Say It Right' will win because Buzzjack is obsessed with that song - personally I find it just average and not even song of 2007, let alone the decade. Haha, I'm getting worked up over it already and it hasn't won yet.

I wasn't too far off with the result though was I?

May I ask where the Beverley Knight songs ended up or didn't you keep them? (this is aimed at Comply Or Die obviously)

I can see how people could be upset if an average Britney track one the countdown, but Toxic is an amazing song and definitely deserves it's placing!

I'm still shocked though! :o

That is one f***ed up video.

LOL This is the first time you watch it? :o

That´s supposed to be his most famous video in USA :(

22 (5) 231 Final Robbie Williams - Angels

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/3c/AngelsRobbiecover.JPG

"Angels" is a song written by Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers, originally performed by Williams, and covered by Jessica Simpson, Mexican singer Yuridia, singer Beverley Knight, in Italian (as Un Angelo) by Patrizio Buanne, All Angels, singer Declan Galbraith as well as Verena Von Strenge's latest group, Moon Dust, and American Idol Contestant David Archuleta. The original recording by Williams proved to be his greatest commercial success, being certified 2x Platinum in the United Kingdom and selling 2.8 million worldwide, even though Robbie's version has never made the Top 3 in any country in the world!

"Angels" was the fourth single from Robbie Williams' debut album, Life Thru a Lens. It has been credited with saving the singer's solo career, and is used to conclude almost all of his concerts.

At the 2005 BRIT Awards, "Angels" was voted by the British public the best song in the past twenty-five years of British music, though it had only reached number four on the singles chart. In a survey by UK digital TV station Music Choice, it even came in at number one as the song people would most like played at their funeral.

Agree with all the above ^^

many thanks for compiling Rich, very interesting read...

not sure if Toxic truly is the best song of the decade with all the great competition behind it though! Amazing for a #10 peaking download single to be called the 2nd best song of the decade :o
