If you want everyone to stay on topic at all times, then you clearly don't get how forums work - DISCUSSION.

I have. I accepted it the first time, but hearing the same things over 5 times is a little annoying. I GET that not everyone like The Saturdays, but dont keep on and keep on saying it time and time again.

Why not? Its their opinion  The whole point of discussing a band and a song is that some will like it and others won't - it would be very dull if everyone bummed it all the time would it not?

Give Coolnav a rest, especially when he's bloody right - YES, we can all voice an opinion, but to do it TIME and TIME again when nobody is even bothering arguing back is tedious indeed. Anyway we seem to have moved on from that now, which is good.

YES FOR THE B-LIST!!!

100% correct... this is what buzzjack was started for was it not? sorry coolnav but if you want a saturdays bumlick forum... THIS AINT IT. the point of discussion is to examine at depth the topic concerned, and if that means including evidences/statistics/experiences fro other scources then so be it.

id suggest using the saturdays 'official' thread in the s club forum for bumlicking.

as expected they are now in the b list, nothing exceptional or amazing there, just a natural progression, as everyone expects it to be a hit in some form.

Haha, i love the way that people now are saying moving up to the B-list was expected ... half the people here DIDNT expect it at all. Just like they dont expect it to go top 10.

Ok, carry on with the repeated comments if you want. Aint gonna stop me from posting everything about the band as that what the topic is meant for, just like all the others.

I can even tell it will be A-listed next week ;)

Considering the big rotation they have on some tv channels only and some radios only, I kind of assume that the 400,000 pounds spent by the label were well received by some of them :)

People seem to be clinging onto this £400,000 figure like it's something unusual. It really isn't! Of that, probably a good £100k or more will have been spent on the video. The rest will go to getting promotional appearances booked etc - it's not like they have wads of cash being sent to radios and TV to play the song. I really don't think £400k is more than most major label artists would get to kick off a project, it's not some big scandal that the Saturdays have it either, especially when it's more than likely that the actual cost of their contract won't have been very big.

Where did the 400k fact/myth/rumor come from anyway? Source, proof?
Oh my goodness, im again having to wade through loads of posts just verging on being something to do with The Saturdays. Can we not create a topic on girbands past and present and then just leave purely The Saturdays in this thread? Its so tedious, when in every other post in the pop forum you can get into many things about the artist but here to have to get through loads of old youtube videos and discussions about past girlbands and how 'The Saturdays pale in comparison' and 'how they're going to flop'.

Im not trying to be direspectful but its just a bit tedious reading the same thing everyday, although people will know doubt have something to bring up about my post and cause more (verging on) off topic ranting.

From someone just reading the topic this kind of post is far more tedious and boring than the rest of it...

This week If This Is Love is #80 on the airplay chart a new entry ^_^
Simple.

They have been touted in the media & non Red Top papers like the Daily Mail, Telegraph & the Independent as the new Spice Girls/Sugababes/Girls Aloud who are set to dominate the charts and "save pop music". In the same way that Adele was hyped at the beginning of the year.

Therefore if your record company makes bold statements like that (especially as its been reported the Polydor UK have spent a significant amount of money: £400,000 to "break" the act), then the least we can expect is a great British pop debut single.

As I said before as debut singles go I dont think it is nowhere near the league of "Wannabe"; "Overload" or "Sound Of The Underground". Whilst to be honest I don't personally think it is as good as "Bring It All Back"; "5-6-7-8"; "C'est La Vie" or even "One Step Closer".

Added to the fact it has sampled one of the most iconic songs of the 1980s (which kept a certain Madonna from topping the Dance charts in the USA back in 1983), but has failed to deliver a great melody to match, unlike the fabulous use of sampling the Average White Band (TLC's Aint Too Proud To Beg); the Chi Lites (Beyonce's Crazy In Love); etc.

In short us "oldies" have been following music for long enough to have been able to spot the difference in hype between the real deals with the songs/talent to match (Sex Pistols, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Spice Girls, Oasis, etc) & similar acts that are over hyped hot air & cannot deliver (Generation X, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Girl Thing, Menswear, etc).

In short if you promise something and are not able to deliver, then that is much worse than not making such grandiose promises in the first place and failing. Hence the interest and "constructive" feedback.

Pretty much in a nutshell...

You left Transvision Vamp off that list of "hot air" acts though....

I pre-ordered the single today off hmv.co.uk :D
Im so excited about it all now, really want them to do well and release the 2nd single.

Apologies if this has already been said as I havent read all 21pgs, but does anyone think the initial tune and background is almost exactly like Heidi Montag's leaked solo effort of 'Body Language' feat Spencer mysurnameisveryappropriate Pratt ?

I like The Saturdays effort a lot more though. A lot more.

They both sample the same song :P Although The Slag's song samples it very badly. She is, after all, useless.

I seeeee.

Thanks for that.

I second what you just said. Good work.

Yeah, they both sample Yazoo's 'Situation'.

Like I said earlier on in the topic, nobody knows or cares who Heidi Montag is, especially to sample/copy a song of hers.
