I didn't know why people predicted top 3 for this song. It was only at #22 at the time on itunes when some people predicted that. When it rose to #11 and the mids came in people were dissapointed with #9, but i think its quite good. I didn't expect it to do well at all.

I predicted it would be high because I was expecting them to get a lot of physical sales, like McFly did. I thought that would be enough to ignore their low download position, much like what happened to McFly when they got to #2.

Its actually the oposite, they would be no.2 if downloads werent added. Downloads are letting them down badly :(

 That's what I meant. I thought high physicals would be enough to ignore the low download positions. But their physicals obviously aren't that high if it hasn't affected them much. Sure, they are #2 on physicals, but that's still not much in this market.

Now up one to #9 on iTunes. By tomorrow evening I wouldn't be surprised if they were Top 5 on iTunes.

I think this will be #7 on Sunday, or maybe #6.

I agree.

good greif.... the next 'big thing' can only muster a paltry #9 in the midweeks dispite all the hype?..

wake up... you might like them but nobody else appears to. anything less then #5 on sunday is disasterous , no business can run at a loss... if they aint profitable then theyll be gone by crimbo.

 #9 on Tuesday's midweek’s given they've had a pre-text download scam in place for a MONTH in advance not to mention the 400k marketing budget... OH DEAR :manson:. If This Is Love will be lucky to stay top10 this week and given that the first single for any act these days is EVERYTHING it looks like we can FLUSH The Saturdays *CLUNK*

They are not the next best thing that the label was expecting but they are still doing decently on downloads which is a good thing. Let's see how long they can stay in the top10.

IMO they will quickly skip this and make a huge promo again for the next single, and then rush to release the album before people get bored by all the hype.

It's not lost case but it won't be easy :)

I think we should all wait until The first single goes out of Top 40 at least before we start redicting whether they'll be big or flop with the next single. After all most Debuts are full of hype!

You seriously think the record company will shell out another 400k marketing budget on a band who in all likely hood will end up with a top15 hit the first time around with the same budget. More FOOL them! :manson:

I can safely assure you they won't sell enough during This Is Love's ENTIRE chart run to recoup even half the marketing budget!

^Well of course they won't, Fascination know that, not being stupid and all. Singles don't make profit, albums do, so the label will have to spend a lot to recoup any upon the album's release.

Mushy, quit this 'anything less than #5 c**p'. Would a #6 be disasterous and a #5 not? No, it depends on how big sales are this week. Sales mean everything and positions nothing.

The 'scam' doesn't work how you clearly thing - in actual fact the texters are given a voucher number to use on a download site, so the downloads only registers when they log on to get it which doesn't have to be at the start of the week and will most likely be throughout the course of the week.

It's a pretty good mark for their first single.

Remember how bad Cookie did. <_<

This supposed "400k marketing budget" would cover the entire project, not just this one single.

What's more important is how the next single does, as that is the one the album's being released off the back of.

Cookie were completely foul

Its actually the single after it, but the 2nd is just as important to show people that they're not messing around!
