Oh god is this STILL going on

Leave it out Saturday Fans  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. God knows how a group like the Saturdays got nearly a 50page thread on ONE song...

Its not just the fans that need to leave it out. Surely they are entitled to their own opinions too LOL.

It didnt do very well LOL. Hopefully Up will do better..

I wouldnt say it was a bad song, but its not a very good song either. Just pretty catchy and it deserves the chart run its getting :P

Maybe they'll do an Atomic Kitten: be on the verge of getting dropped then release a big slow number (Issues) and be #1 for weeks....

Well, it kinda kicked off firstly because of the Yazoo sample.... And the fact that they are ridiculously overhyped and overexposed, and it's pretty much all amounting to nothing...

Still, it's all pretty entertaining tbh...

Aw please stop with this ridiculous "strong fanbase" thing! Fanbase don't make a single a success!

Exactly... Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails have both incredibly strong fanbases who turn out in their legions to gigs, album sales generally do well too, NIN and Radiohead both had over two million hits each when they put up their recent albums on download, NIN regularly play huge arenas in the US and Europe, Radiohead play very large venues also.... The strong, loyal fanbases dont generally translate to singles sales because both artists are seen as more album oriented....

Estelle has no fanbase at all and her single is one of the biggest single of the year, on the other hand, McFly has probably the most hardcore fanbase, and their single spent like 3 weeks in the top40!

And being a Girls Aloud fan you should know having a strong fanbase doesn't do a thing at all for the longevitiy of a single in the chart! Look at the runs of singles like Whole lotta history, See the day, and on the other side look at the runs of Call The Shots, Something kinda oooh, etc.

It's ALL about if the general audience likes the song and want to buy it, that's all.

This song spent one week in the top10, two more in the top20, so no you can't say it's a great start. And unfortunately this is not the kind of act that is going to get stronger and stronger with every single release.

absolutely spot on!!! well said.

and the Cure can't get pass #78

and the Cure can't get pass #78

Yeah, and yet, 35,000 of their long-time, hard-core fans routinely turn out to the huge arena and festival shows they put on.....

About six years back I saw them do a big concert in Hyde Park, place was absolutely rammed....

I kinda agree with that really... Popjustice was wiping their arses squeeky clean before any material had been recorded or before they started touring with GA.. I think its a bit too early to judge and i think their label is jumping the shark a bit... leaving the next single to be released in October... they are still fresh and new and didnt exactly make a huge impact in the charts... They will be easily forgotten about like that

Well maybe its the type of fans that bands like radio head and the cure have that don't buy singles, but albums instead.

Take that, jona brothers and Mcfly fans will buy a single at least 10 times to try to get it to #1. Different fan bases entirely.

What ever take that or Mcfly releases usually gets a high position, so you cant say that fanbases doesn't have much of an effect on chart position because it clearly does.

pity its coming out in autumn then!

theres summut about 'up' , it puts me in mind of another track (ok i know its a cross between rachel stevens two hits 'sweet dreams my la x' and 'some girls' ), maybe a pinched melody, maybe a sample, i dunno..

He was talking about 'If This Is Love', remember this is the thread for that single. Talk about 'Up' in the new thread.

the convo had shifted to 'up', as the previous posts were refering to 'up' id suggest that without a quote it would be a fair assumption to regard his comment as refering to up.

They have a new single and this topic is about to reach the 1,000 post limit and doesn't require a second thread started on it now. Keep all future Saturdays stuff in the other topic now!

^^This comment written in August nearly turned out to be correct! Although they were not on the verge of getting dropped Ii do think that 'Issues' will be the song to save the album!
