Surprisingly for someone who has made a series of uncompromising records as well as the classic mainstream songs, Bobby's taste in music stretches to the the likes of former S Club 7 stars and Pete Waterman proteges. He said: "I like pop. I like things such as Rachel Stevens, the Sugababes, Beyonce and some of the Kylie Minogue records. "To me, that's been the best music of the last six years, more than the guitar music. I'm more a fan of pop music, but I don't like Pop Idol."
