Posted May 7, 200817 yr Obviously Rangers should be congratulated for making it to the UEFA cup final, albeit with the most boring style seen in Europe since General George Graham left Highbury. However, I'm interested to find out the opinion of people on the board regarding the fact they keep on trying to get matches postponed now that they've created an unwanted fixture overload. My take is that they should decide which trophy they want most and pick teams around that. What's the point in buying players like Alan Gow and never, ever playing them? This may give the likes of him, not to mention their alleged youth wonderkid, the chance to shine against SPL opposition or even against Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup final. Wouldn't most Rangers fans normally boast that their reserves could beat the likes of Queens with one hand tied behind their backs? Apparently, the SPL are 'a laughing stock' because they've finally stood up to a bunch of bully boys who think all goalposts should be moved for them to be able to win all four trophies they've entered for this season.
May 7, 200817 yr They only have themselves to blame as far as I'm concerned. I quite like Rangers and would like them to win all four but they've been getting matches postponed all season, if you're going to win 4 competitions you need to be able to cope with playing 60-70 games in a season, if you can't then don't try to win all four. Trying to get this weekends game postponed is pathetic, really. I assume they've got players going to play in Euro 2008, will they think it's ok to be playing their final games in June and therfore not allowing them to join up with their countries squads?
May 7, 200817 yr Author Wrong assumption there, unless Cuellar, Darcheville or, ha ha, Novo get surprise call ups there won't be any Rangers players at Euro 2008 - another reason they're happy to prolong the season.
May 7, 200817 yr I agree they only have themselves to blame and as someone who's favourite scottish team is Celtic I'm just laughing and hoping they drop points :P
May 7, 200817 yr I agree they only have themselves to blame and as someone who's favourite scottish team is Celtic I'm just laughing and hoping they drop points :P Ditto. As a Liverpool supporter it is only natural that I'd support Celtic out of the Old Firm. If they were that bothered they should have tried rotating their squads or blood their kids like the Big 4 down South of the Border in less important cup ties or against supposed easier opposition. :D
May 7, 200817 yr Why do they complain :kink: Daniel Cousin can play at the weekend as he is banned from the UEFA final :heehee:
May 7, 200817 yr They should stop whining and get on with it. Why should the whole of Scotland want them to win all 4 trophies, surely only Rangers fans want this, and my last recollection not everyone in Scotland supports the Gers. If they play all the games and win all 4 competitions, then they can rightly say what an achievement. But I don't see why it should be made easier to win the league and the Scottish cup. They have the biggest squad in Scotland and can easily field 2 different teams, which could probably beat most of the other teams in Scotland.
May 8, 200817 yr I would make a comment about this. Then I realised that I would be biased due to supporting Celtic. So I won't.
May 14, 200817 yr Up the Gers tonight. And to all you Celtic fans. Have a beer tonight when you're watching Rangers win it and wash down that jealousy. Second-raters.
May 14, 200817 yr If Rangers win tonight, I can see them getting the other two. An historic quadrouple is on the cards hopefully. :o
May 14, 200817 yr If Rangers win tonight, I can see them getting the other two. An historic quadrouple is on the cards hopefully. :o historic how :P and meh! what is it about the Russians and the UEFA Cup in recent years
May 14, 200817 yr historic how :P and meh! what is it about the Russians and the UEFA Cup in recent years  Well a Scottish side has never done a quadrouple before have they? Actually, has any British sides ever done it?
May 14, 200817 yr Well a Scottish side has never done a quadrouple before have they? Actually, has any British sides ever done it? yes, Celtic in 1967  * The Scottish First Division. * The Scottish Cup. * The Scottish League Cup. * The European Cup.
May 14, 200817 yr Well a Scottish side has never done a quadrouple before have they? Actually, has any British sides ever done it? Erm Liverpool?
May 15, 200817 yr Author yes, Celtic in 1967  * The Scottish First Division. * The Scottish Cup. * The Scottish League Cup. * The European Cup. They won the defunct Glasgow cup that year too making it a quintuple grand slam. They also played exciting flowing football and didn't whine to the SFA about 'fixture congestion'. Rangers simply didn't deserve to win the cup last night.
