May 16, 200818 yr It's a shame it's another time when Darius will be missing. He always seems to be unavailable when the members of the 19 stable are together. Right now though he has to be in every GWTW show. It happens to us all - events we desperately want to go to but can't because of work commitments.
May 16, 200818 yr The wedding I was at turned into a three day celebration too. There was the rehearsal followed by the rehearsal dinner and party and those who were still standing went on to the local club until 2.30 am and then for a nightcap back in the hotel. next day there was the wedding followed by photographs in 3 different locations and cocktails for those not invloved in the formal photos and then the main reception with the walking wounded including the bride in her gown and kilted males from the wedding party descending once again on the local club. Surprisingly, next day only one person looked really under the weather and the thirty or so of us who were still there had a wonderful long brunch together. It was Mothers' Day in Canada and Brunch is a tradition in all restaurants. I had an absolute ball. I spent the whole weekend laughing. I hope Simon enjoys his 3 days as much as I enjoyed those.
May 16, 200818 yr Great fun and a lovely church service with a string quartet. There were no hymns and I didn't even notice until my sister remarked on it.
May 16, 200818 yr Author Welcome back Baytree, have missed your posts. Sounds like you had a wonderful wonderful time.
May 16, 200818 yr It was lovely meeting up with old friends from around the world and making new ones. It was a wonderful company - very easy to be part of. Neverthe less, it's nice to be back. I missed you all. I didn't have time to find an internet cafe.
May 17, 200818 yr sounds lovely, one thing I always recall is the brunches in Canada!! eat what you want from the lovely buffet - and all the free coffee you can drink, its such a shame we dont have those over here. my mum benefits from the canadian mothers day as my sister always sends her flowers from Canada then. May 17, 200818 yr My brother used to get upset as my Uncle kept sending Mum flowers on behalf of my brother as he'd forgotten. No matter how many times we explained that the date was different he still went through the sactimonious speel of a son forgetting. Mum was upset that he thought like that and wouldn't listen. My brother fumed.
May 18, 200818 yr My son always gives/sends me flowers on the local mothers' day wherever he is in the world. I don't worry about dates - it's the thought that counts. He presented me with a big bouquet of flowers last Sunday. They were gorgeous. I kept them in the hotel until I had to go and then passed them on to my nephew's girlfriend, who lives in Toronto.
May 18, 200818 yr True and I don't mind what the card says either. "Mom" is OK by me. I especially like the fact that although he is married, he goes out personally and chooses a particular card with me in mind.
May 18, 200818 yr I seem to be posting in the wrong threads or losing posts. I'll need to take a look.
