Posted May 10, 200817 yr jake.may10__ Commentary ›› Hello. STAGNATION is a word one could use to describe this week's chart (by the standards of 2008 thus far at least). Stagnations a bit harsh and a bit negative, slow is a more APT turn of phrase perhaps. Either way, 2 new entries enter the chart this week. The highest at #30 coming from Portishead with 'The Rip', quite possibly my favourite song off their recent stunning third album. Right at the bottom sees NatBed's first entry to my chart since 'These Words' she was terrible then good then terrible for a few years and now once more returns to being good on this summery little ditty (there's no hope for the next single before anyone questions). Crystal Castles re-enter this week with 'Courtship Dating', a song I have only come to appreciate this week. Under-charted it is. Expect a climb next week after one has seen them. Elsewhere on the chart the spiffing double-A side from Late of the Pier remains my numero uno single for the week. Ahhh what love. The 'Blondes climb a place with 'Guilt' (ace video nay?) anddd there's plenty more climbing action going on. Sonny J and Bon Iver KERPLUNKZ themselves into the top 10. Further down My Brightest Diamond and No Age push into the top 20 with Little Boots returning to its favourite postion; #19, a place it has held on 4 previous, non-consecutive occasions previously.
