June 6, 200818 yr As much as i love No More, it even got to number 1 in my chart. I agree that it probably shoudnt have been realesead, it didnt have enought appeal to do well which it didnt.
June 9, 200818 yr I hope she has sucess this time around, I loved all 3 singles, but not too keen on Something About You as a lead single!
June 9, 200818 yr i thought the last album had good single choices nut her managment let her down with no more, not enough promo
June 10, 200818 yr Yeah i think your right there, whilst the first 2 singles got promo the last one didnt. Not that it was really strong enough to be a single.
June 10, 200818 yr Apparently, Jamelia & the label were speaking very little to and were not on good terms with one another during the time of "No More"... Also, J believes they wanted her to under-perform with this era & force her out from the label.
June 10, 200818 yr It is. More than anything, it's a business. A job. That's what young, aspiring singers need to realise. Artists over at Parlophone were getting dropped faster than Paris Hilton's knickers, though. It's a tough industry. They needed to cut down a lot. I don't know what the procedures are for dropping someone? Do you have to have a really good reason to drop an artist? Like, you can't just one day say "you're gone...buh-bye" to an artist on your label, can you? Or can they? I thought they had to have a very good reason, otherwise the artist can sue or something? I'm not familiar...
June 10, 200818 yr Is there a contractual agreement or something? Because Mimi was paid £28m to leave Columbia Records wasn't she?
June 10, 200818 yr They didn't dump her, they were just pushing her in front of the door for her to walk through. 2006/7 was the time when EMI were cutting down on their artist rosta for financial reasons, so they were getting rid of a lot of people back then.
June 11, 200818 yr Loads of people were dropped at that point. How Beverley Knight is still there i dont know.
