Posted May 11, 200817 yr AH Gold Chart - w/e 24 May 2008 Commentary For the second time this year, a record has shot from outside the Top 10 to the very top (Alphabeat's Fascination jumped 28-1 earlier on in the year). Having debuted at No.7 six weeks ago, then rising to 6 before slowly dropping, Royworld climb ten places to become the tenth different No.1 of 2008. Dust's chances of a second week at No.1 could be slim however - Next week should see either Ashlee Simpson climbing back up to the top or see Mystery Jets (this week's highest new entry at 3) take its place. Elsewhere, Kylie Minogue scores her 4th Top 10 hit of 2008 with album track The One, while Sara Bareilles and Duffy climb slowly. Having stalled at No.16 with her collabration with Sean Kingston - 'Love Like This', Natasha Bedingfield already betters that position by crashing in at 14 with US Top 10 hit A Pocket Full Of Sunshine (She finally scored a No.1 in this chart with the Chicane - Saltwater bootleg of I Bruise Easily last month - the track is still around at No.20). Completely randomly, Dr Hook's 1980 No.4 hit Sexy Eyes re-appears at 17, while other oldies/revamps see Gusto (24-18), Forever Autumned (20-24), Yazoo (44-42) and Hybrid (new at 50) also making good progress. Finally, as predicted last week, Panic At The Disco, Gabriella Cilmi and Britney Spears' 2nd wind of life are also making good progress. The former two better their previous peak positions by moving into the Top 30. Britney, however, is still 13 places away from the previous best peak of Break The Ice, which this week climbs three to 35.
