Gabriella Pulls Out

 

Gabriella Cilmi has pulled out for this months Buzzjack Song Contest after contracting tuberculosis whilst holidaying in Dr Bombays Tigerland.

 

Her manager confirmed to the assembled press of Quilvoria that she would not be competing.

 

Her replacement has been unveiled to be Red Blooded Women, with Colour Me Dirty. More Details to follow.

and oh no, I might miss the final for the first time ever now :lol: although I definitely went through a semi-final before and qualified :D

The final will be 26/27 countries depending on how many sign up. If we get 38 (or any even number) countries wanting to take part that means we'd have 37 countries in the semi-final, meaning Ashton would get to qualify automatically. So we'd have 18 in each semi-final, with 12 getting through from each semi-final. Whereas if we get 37 people to sign up, Ashton don't automatically qualify and get get 36 countries in the semi-finals, with 13 out of 18 getting through from each semi-final.

 

If I'm not thinking properly and I've got something wrong please explain it to me. I'm not feeling confident with anything I'm thinking/saying today because of the pressure from my exam earlier. If 2+2 was a question in my exam I'd probably be doubting myself that 4 is the answer. :lol:

Maria and Mira wow the crowds in Kingdom Of Shadow/Allecian

 

FSR Rontvia's BJSC7 entrants Maria Haukaas Storeng and Mira Craig performed in the Kingdom Of Shadow last night to a rapturous reception. The duo performed Mine All Mine twice, at the start and end of the four song set. Maria also performed her Eurovision 2008 entry Hold On Be Strong as well as another of her album tracks, Leaving You For Good. Maria confirmed that on every appearance that her and Mira make in the next ten days, they will perform Mine All Mine twice, Hold On Be Strong and one other track exclusive to each country. Maria and Mira have also just finished their lunchtime performance in Allecian, where they were warmly received. In Allecian the pair sang another album track, Find Your Way soon as well as the other three songs. The duo are heading to Kopecka tonight and the set list is confirmed as:

 

1. Mine All Mine (Maria and Mira)

2. Hold On Be Strong (Maria)

3. I'm So Ghetto (Mira)

4. Mine All Mine - Reprise (Maria and Mira)

Question! When will the countries be divided into their respective semis?

 

Maybe it would be a good plan to divide the 36 countries (37 minus Quotosibb) that we have now into the two semis randomly, and then just put any countries confirming in the next 2 days into alternate semis as they confirm.

 

I'm just thinking it would be easier on Adi_Gallia when it comes to making recaps, so they don't have to be thrown together in the one night!

I think it'd be better if we have both semifinals happening at the same time, i agree it causes more work about a recap vid but what would you do if there're for example 10 more countries come to sign up? :o :heehee:

You qualify if we have an even amount of countries but not if we have an odd amount...I think :unsure:

Yes. :drama: As I said, I don't think it went badly for me, but I don't know if I got the 81% I need. I should have retook some exams.

Your pre-qualification depends entirely on how many people end up wishing to take part. If there's an odd number of people wanting to take part you don't pre-qualify, but if there's an even number you do pre-qualify, sorry for the confusion. This is because we need to be able to split everyone who wishes to take part (except me) into two groups of the same size.

 

Don't spend too much time on making a good video, visually, though because the recap video wont be using footage, as explained here.

Further to yesterday's new, Keri Hilson today announced on her official website- www.kerihilsonqueenbitch.co.uk that she would be doing promotinal tours in further countries. She kicks off later this evening in Kingdom of Shadow and will travel to Simmondly to perform for the crowd there. From the 14th, Keri will be doing two tour's a date, starting with Jester's Kingdom in the morning then going off to Ashton in the afternoon.

Because I want people to see that I'm not just another black wannabee. I'm not one of Timbaland's bitches and I am my own woman. I am one of the greatest singer's Earth has produced and I think people need to appreicate this fact.

I have what it takes yes; but I won't win. People never vote for singing abilitly. If they did; then I would win hands down.

Not really. That's in the past. I just want to do well.

I've already signed up for I'm A Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here in November and I have agreed to participate in a group orgy- mainly for research purposes.

It's still on the 22nd. The two semis are happening simultaneously.

Yes they are happening at the same time, but what I mean is maybe we could start allocating countries into which semi-final they will be in. It means at least Adi_Gallia will know which countries are where. After the countries we have now have been allocated then the next country to sign up can simply be in SF1 and the next in SF2 and so on until closing.

 

It just means that Adi has more than a few hours to get recap videos sorted.

Yeah, two semis. They will run side by side though, so the final is unaffected.

It's just occurred to me this isn't actually that long away! Two days left to confirm isn't it?

I wouldn't bother assigning countries to semi-finals yet because I have my last exam tomorrow (which I should be studying for now, but I think I'll do badly whether or not I try to take it in) and I don't plan on starting the recap until it's all over at least. I said I'll have the recap done a day after the semi-finals begin, the 15th, anyway so I'll have enough time to make them, whether or not they'll be ready by 11:59pm on the 15th isn't stated, but it should be earlier. :P

 

I don't think I stated an exact time that the confirmation thread will close. I'm not sure when will be best, morning, afternoon or evening?
