October 29, 200816 yr 'It's Not Me, It's You' 09.02.09 01. 'Everyone’s At It' 02. 'The Fear' 03. 'It’s Not Fair' 04. '22' 05. 'I Could Say' 06. 'Go Back To the Start' 07. 'Never Gonna Happen' 08. 'f*** You' 09. 'Who’d’ve Known' 10. 'Chinese' 11. 'Him' 12. 'He Wasn’t There'
October 31, 200816 yr Just had another exclusive listen :) To these 4: 'Go Back To the Start' Synthy track with a KIND of Drum N Bass-y beat, very electro. Upbeat with amazing verses, chorus lets it down a bit as it sounds too fast. Still the song is a killer and she does sound brilliant. 9/10 'Chinese' Contrast to the last track where I actually prefer the chorus to this over the verses. This is a fairly slow track, the lyrics in the chorus explain that Chinese is actually about getting 'a Chinese and watch TV'. Pretty bland track but nice enough. 6/10 'Who’d’ve Known' Lily Sings 'Who'd have known, when you flash up on my phone, I'd no longer feel alone' on this down tempo track. The verses of this are just as strong as the chorus, very catchy and sing-songy. Really nice album track, won't be a single though I wouldn't have thought. 8/10 'Never Gonna Happen' LOVE THIS. Uptempo with an uplifting chorus despite the negative lyrics 'It's never gonna happen between the two of us'. The beat is very marching-esque with, very catchy track, could see this as a single! 9/10
October 31, 200816 yr Cheers for that! i'm sure Who'd've Known was on her Myspace recently. In other news, "The Fear" = "I Don't Know" (as jonny pointed out in the other thread.)
November 27, 200816 yr From first post: Lily Allen is close to completing her second album, the Sunday Mirror reports. Speaking to the newspaper, Allen, who pulled out of the Isle of Wight Festival due to delays with the album, said that she will soon start promoting her new material. Allen said: "I've worked so hard. My next album is nearly finished. I'm on a two-week break and then I'm starting a massive promotional tour. "I'm not sure when I'll have time for another holiday, so I'm making the most of it now." Allen's debut album Alright, Still, released in 2006, has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. The 23-year-old recently released two new tracks, 'I Don't Know' and 'I Could Say', on her MySpace page.DIGITALSPY --------------------------------------- UPDATE: Lily Allen has confirmed that she has finished work on her sophomore album. The popstar, who visited Glastonbury festival over the weekend, said she would be meeting her label this week to discuss the record. "I'm pretty much sure it's finished and I've got a meeting on Tuesday with the label, I'm really happy," she told the BBC. Allen previewed three new songs on her MySpace page in recent months. A track called 'Guess Who Batman' was inspired by the singer's dislike for the British National Party. --------------------------------------- UPDATE: Lily Allen's new album will be called Stuck On The Naughty Step. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the popstar admitted that the title reflects how she is portrayed in the press. "I feel like I'm stuck in a hole where people say, 'Lily, you're bad. Go think about what you've done'," she said. The album, which she recorded with Mark Ronson and Greg Kurstin in LA, is likely to feature the three new tracks she recently released on her MySpace page. Allen also defended her collapse at the Glamour Awards, saying that getting drunk is something everyone does in their 20s. "Who, at age 23, hasn't passed out from alcohol?" she commented. "I just happen to have photographers following me." However, Allen was keen to stress that her lifestyle has not affected her work ethic, saying: "I haven't drunk the whole time I've been here in LA, and I'm up every day at 8."
