Let's get facts right, we spent £35m on Tevez the other week, if we don't 'rate him that highly', we obviously do

remember in the CL final who got taken off and who stayed on?

Tevez scored against Chelsea, Liverpool away, Lyon away, and that MASSSSSSIVE equaliser against Blackburn, which imo, would of resulted in us losing the title (if Blackburn won 1-0)

We're after Berbatov because Fergie needs a SQUAD. No one here plays every week in the same position and Fergie likes to have players that can change the game hence why we're after Berbatov as he'd be a good target man for Rooney. Anyway Rooney will play anywhere he's told to and he'll always produce for the team as he always gets just as many assists as he gets goals but hopefully he can play as an SS like he'd prefer to, our best player - FACT!

Gotta say i'm not sure why Spurs are after Corluka, but he'd be a good buy. It does seem Ramos is gonna play this 4-2-3-1 formation next season, so it makes sense for them to stock up on defensive midfielders as they're key to the formation working. I've never seen Corluka play DM so I dunno about him, but if he's going to play there he needs to be fast (or the other DM needs to fast) and he needs to be extremely good at passing and distributing.

Man Utd need Berbatov too imo. Rooney and Tevez are both top strikers, but they're not out and out goalscorers, and that's something Man Utd lack at the moment, especially if Ronaldo goes too. I think it would be quite easy to accomodate all 3 playing in the same formation too, but it'd most likely mean either of Rooney or Tevez playing on the right of midfield.

Well I was hoping Rooney could play in his prefered position this season but right now that doesn't look like an option. :(

Looks like he's out of the season opener too with a virus <_< With him, Nani and Ronaldo injured and Anderson suspended already are we actually gonna have a team at the start of the season? Thank god we've got Newcastle who only have one fit striker.. Alan Smith

I must say i'm pretty suprised at how quiet Man Utd have been in the transfer market, I know they spent a bit last season, but I still think there's room for improvement in the squad. I'm very suprised Fergie's not got a back-up centre back I must say, I know Vidic and Ferdinand are untouchable, but if either of them get crocked...

Look out for Rafael and Fabio, everyone :), 18 year old Brazilian twins, left/right backs, they're gonna be immense.

And we don't need cover for centre-back, we need a forward and we'll get Berbs.

Yeah they were absolutely immense against Peterborough. Well at least the one (Rafael I think it was) that played the full 90. It would certainly break United into a different set-up of play if they became regular fixtures as the only team with so much pace and attacking prowess from the full back position is Arsenal really!

Evra's better than Clichy, and he's quicker :)

Evra > Clichy without doubt

Who've United got on the right though? Wes Brown hardly compares speed-wise to Eboue.

Turns out according to Spurs ITK's that Levy pulled off the smartest piece of business in years

He got wind that with Sinatra's financial troubles in Thailand that City were unable to meet an 8m installment on players they bought last summer so he offered that exact amount for Corluka and City took it in order to meet their payment obligations

If that is true then Levy is a genius as Corluka is worth double that

Corluka has turned us down :manson:

What a f***wit

Enjoy the bench when Hughes buys Lucas Neill you re****

What were the results in your opening three games of last season again?

Good point but I don't think Chelsea will drop as many points as they did last season so we've got to hit the ground running if possible..

We haven't really got anyone to partner Scholesy that I can think of though considering Hargreaves is injured and Carrick has that virus that Rooney has, we're gonna be playing like England under McClown at this rate

I just hope Brown doesn't convince Capello play him as right back for England for the Croatia game next month. :(

Is gonna be quite interesting this season, it seems a lot of the top teams now have at least 1 very attacking fullback.

And Man Utd really shouldn't struggle. I think most of the Top 4 teams have one or two first team players missing for the first team. Central midfield shouldn't be too big a loss really for you, as it'll only be two league games before Anderson is back after the Olympics.

Bale will be even better than Evra and Clichy in a couple of years

ahahaha, why do you talk $h!t? seriously mate...

Fabio's gonna p*** all over Bale

Corluka has turned us down :manson:

ahahaha, wtf? do you not realise that Corluka is close to being thee best right-back in the Prem? why would Lucas Neill change that? plus, he's a centre-back

Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he will remain a Manchester United player for "at least one more year".

The 23-year-old Portugal winger had frequently expressed his desire to leave for Spanish champions Real Madrid this summer.

But he told Portuguese paper Publico: "Sir Alex Ferguson heard my arguments, I heard his and it was settled that the best thing would be for me to stay.

"I can confirm that, next season, I will play for Manchester United."

United manager Ferguson, speaking after the club's friendly with Juventus on Wednesday, said he was "pleased" Ronaldo was staying.

And Ferguson gave a revealing insight into how he dealt with the Ronaldo transfer saga, which saw two months of frenzied speculation that the player would leave.

"I flew to Portugal some weeks ago and we cleared the air and he spoke to some of the players," he told MUTV.

"The boy has been through a troubled time in terms of the approaches from Spain, but once he knew my stance, he then settled down. I was responsible for all this controversy

"The fans have got to understand; it's very difficult when a young boy is tempted by all this money.

"We can put this to bed now. It's finished and the boy is a Manchester United player and that's the most important thing."

Ronaldo, under contract with United until 2012, is currently recovering from surgery on an ankle injury and is likely to be sidelined until the end of September.

But the Portuguese forward used the interview to underline his desire to achieve the heights of last season in which he was the club's top scorer with 42 goals.

"Before rumours emerge saying that I will play against my will, I want to make this clear - whoever says or writes that is lying," Ronaldo told Publico.

"I will play for Manchester with all my heart and soul. I will fight and honour that shirt with the same commitment and dedication as always."

Ronaldo also admitted he played his part in fuelling the speculation and that he was guilty of fracturing United's relationship with Real Madrid.

"I was responsible for all this controversy," he added.

"I was the one who publicly expressed my desire to go to Real Madrid. I ended up being, even involuntarily, responsible for the poor relationship between the two clubs."

Yet the Portuguese winger, reigning double footballer of the year in England after helping Manchester United to the Premier League title and a Champions League triumph last season, did not rule out an eventual move to Madrid at some point in his career.

"I knew Real Madrid were interested in signing me and that they had allegedly made a very high offer to Manchester United," he added.

"My desire was, for some time, that Manchester had accepted my transfer to Madrid. Saying otherwise would be to trick people and my own consciousness."

Gotta say, if I was a Man Utd fan i'd be pissed off at the moment... regardless of what Ronaldo says, he'll be playing next season with one eye on being a Real Madrid player. No chance Man Utd will get the money that's been said in the press next season either imo.

Well I'm gonna wait and see myself, still think he's a w*nker but if he wants Real Madrid to keep their interest he needs to keep playing well and if that benifits us then that's fine but I still think we'll be better off without him in the dressing room.
and here's me thinking Fergie always stated one player doesn't make the team, and if they're gonna go all cry baby, they're out, ala Beckham and Nistelrooy style. (Ironically both to Madrid)
