July 28, 200816 yr Spurs were a top 4 team once, but were cheated by what I believe was deliberate food poisoning. ^_^ But yes, it's going to take time for the new players to settle in, and for Bale and Gunter to grow into the team. Keane was rather influential so he's a huge loss. Palyuchenko is just all hyped up from Euro 2008, and to an extent Arshavin (big woop he can play well in Russia).

The same Arshavin that was the main reason why Zenit won the UEFA Cup last season The same Arshavin that was probably the biggest star of Euro 2008 bar maybe David Villa ANY player from overseas is a risk but Arshavin is proved on the European stage both at domestic and international level

July 28, 200816 yr LMAO! Well done Ledley! Slipped over to allow Aviva to give Norwich an equaliser! Anyway the Ramos factor might be instrumental to getting another couple or so players that Spurs need but Dos Santos and Modric are both great examples of the calibre that can be brought in but I just don't see it happening just yet. They need to keep their faith in a manager for once as I'm sure Jol would have had a much better season this season had he stayed. -_-
July 28, 200816 yr Craig talks $h!t, always has, always will he won't be too smug come May when we're Champions...again
July 28, 200816 yr Craig talks $h!t, always has, always will he won't be too smug come May when we're Champions...again We are 3-5 years away from being championship contenders unless an Abramovich type figure buys out Levy and splashes out on Kaka and Messi, I am not expecting us to be fighting for the title come May, well maybe May 2011 Ramos>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jol and Jol got 2 lots of 5th place and was a lasagne away from 4th
July 28, 200816 yr Never mind buying all these attacking options, that wasn't so much the problem. It's King like incidents and a shoddy back four  that was the big downfall last season.
July 28, 200816 yr Never mind buying all these attacking options, that wasn't so much the problem. It's King like incidents and a shoddy back four  that was the big downfall last season. The big problem last season was Blobbo and he has gone now, there will be a massive recession of pie retailers in the N London area now We have replaced Blobbo with Gomes who is a MASSIVE upgrade in quality and a massive downgrade in terms of waistline
July 28, 200816 yr Piedo has actually lost 2 stone since leaving Spurs  I'm wondering who was in charge of fitness under Martin Jol
July 28, 200816 yr I still feel Robbo was treating unfairly by both Spurs AND England :( Makes a couple of a mistakes and then gets completely shut out! James has played better, yes but there was no reason to completely drop him from the squad and for him to be on the sidelines at Spurs for so long. I just hope his move to Blackburn can put him back on track. Anyway anything going on outside Spurs right now?
July 28, 200816 yr I'm surprised Boro haven't moved for a keeper after Schwarzer left. Although I'm all for giving Turnbull his chance to shine :cheer: Back to the world outside of Spurs, we go to the Spurs rejects team of Sunderland who have signed El Hadji Diouf, and to Fulham who have almost signed Andy Johnson.
July 28, 200816 yr Yeah I'm suprised too as I'm not sure if Turnball and Brad Jones are really good enough personally  But Southgate has proven to be a decent manager imo so I'd trust him on that. I particularly admire him giving youth a chance especially as them and Man City probably have the best crop of players coming through right now.
July 28, 200816 yr Boro don't.... they produce mediocre players, ala Downing and Cattermole City produce quality, though
July 28, 200816 yr I just choked on my metaphorical coffee. Andy Johnson - £13M  I'm sure Fulham could have spent that money more wisely else where. No way is he worth that. Everton only bought him to dive in the box, and I don't even think they won a penalty in the league last year so he is now surplus  Boro don't.... they produce mediocre players, ala Downing and Cattermole City produce quality, though  Grounds, Adam Johnson, Wheater. Downing was the reason Boro weren't in the bottom 3 all season  and Cattermole  needs just one video. Plays with passion ^_^ XlvGtCeNFtk and *cough* 8-1 :cheer:
July 28, 200816 yr Author Cattermole play with passion but he's rubbish. Surprised Wigan are going for him, never thought he's developed to anything other than a decent Championship player...
July 28, 200816 yr I just choked on my metaphorical coffee. Andy Johnson - £13M  I'm sure Fulham could have spent that money more wisely else where. No way is he worth that. Well what do you expect from Fulham's owner. If Andy Johnson is worth £13 million then Robbie Keane is worth £30 million. I bet David Moyes needed treatment to stop him laughing at that deal.
July 28, 200816 yr http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/artic...oliverpool.html The Club can announce that it has reached agreement with Liverpool FC for the transfer of Robbie Keane. Speaking on the announcement of the transfer, Chairman Daniel Levy said: "I was incredibly disappointed when I first heard, not only that Liverpool had been working behind the scenes to bring Robbie to Anfield, but that Robbie himself wanted to go and he submitted a transfer request to this effect. "I have already made my opinion clear on the nature of this transaction. I don't regard it as a transfer deal - that is something which happens between two clubs when they both agree to trade - this is very much an enforced sale, for which we have agreed a sum of £19m as compensation plus a potential further £1.3m in additional compensation." Liverpool FC has also acknowledged that the way its website reported comments of its manager, which were widely covered by the media, was inappropriate and in light of that acknowledgement has apologised and agreed to make a donation to our Club's main charity, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. Tottenham Hotspur has therefore agreed not to pursue its official complaint to the Premier League. Absolutely made up with this deal. He knows the Premier League through and through and his game is perfect to suit Torres'. For effectively £8m + Crouch i'd say we've just pulled off a massive coup.
