Conor - your the only person talking sense on here.

Ski - Terry is up to date with modern music, he has to be! He's not the only one who doesn't know about modern European music, thats because its not worth listening to. As for him being born in ireland, he has tarvelled the world, he hasn't always lived in ireland!! You make him sound like a hermit! Being 70 doesn't mean hat hes out of touch, probably the complete opposite, more experince!!

Terry Wogan is nothing more then a geriatric old fart. Yes, he's so much into modern music which is why Andy Abrham represented the Uk. Even my Nan wouldn't listen to him!
i dont get what most off yu have against dima he is amazingand deseved to win even f you didnt like him you must have liked his song or his song from 2006

theyy were both great and i think he deseverd to win

The song was as full as dishwater with average singing, Russia's entry last year was 1000x better than this tacky Justin Timberlake wannabe.

The last time i looked at a map of Europe 'Israel', 'Azerbaijan' etc werent in it

We really did have a dreadful song this year though yet again, we send a joke of a song every year which doesnt even represent our charts at all.

Over the past 5 years weve managed to sent TWO reality tv rejects, a long extinct wannabe steps, along with many more rubbish songs.

If the UK wanted to do well, along with the rest of Western Europe then we'd send something at least half decent,

i mean were full of these wannabe jazz/soul singers in the UK, and Norway managed 5th, we could of sent Duffy or someone at least.

I taped this last night and watched in the early hours whilst drunk. Watching Eurovision drunk is the way forward.

COME QELE, MOVE QELE. Armenia  Robbed i tell thee. I must say most of this years entry's were a bit pants if i'm honest :( Loads of WTF moments  Especially that washing line THING.

My Top 5 were:

01. Armenia

02. Greece <3

03. Norway

04. Germany ( :( I loved the song but they were $h!te live)

05. Ukraine

^^ i agree wayy you about germany there song was amazing but pants live
It doesnt matter if the UK sent the best song Europe have ever heard, we'd still be bottom five.

What a disgrace winner, Iceland or Sweden should of won.

Absolute rubbish.

That is why Cyndi who SHOULD have been the UK representative last year but for John Barrowman begging the public to nominate the awful Scooch track finished 2nd (YES SECOND!!!!!) in the ESC Runners Up competition last year out of all the ESC nations, because it was a bloody good song, sung well. If Cyndi had been our entry last year instead of Scooch then we would have got a Top 6 finish, no doubt about it.

The sooner ignorant dated Xenophobes get that through their Sun/Dail Mail reading ENGERLAND island mentality the better.

I think the thing is that europe takes it so seriously, they don't have a sense of humour!! I don't see it as a music contest, I see it as a popularity contest and feel saddened byt the fact the europe does not like us. I think the UK is an amazing counrty and I feel proud to call myself British. Europe dislikes us as we went to war with America, as our points started to go down when we shipped our troops out. We do so much for europe, our government have allowed more foreigners in, taking our jobs and houses. I Think it is hypercritical to come to this country and not vote for us!! Like your country, have the decency to like our music!!

Rubbish.

Then everyone has to vote for the UK even if you send to the contest the talking pig with the 100-year-old man breakdancing :o I WOULD :kink:

I have nothing against The UK personally at all, i like "Even If" song much and don't understand why it appeared to have flopped  Whatever... What has to happen has happened already.

Rabbitfurcoat - are you calling me ignorant?? I have a very broad tase in music, although european stuff doesn't take my fancy. I think it is mainly cheesy and poorly written, based on what I have heard from eurovision and friends from France, Switzerland etc. I also dislike what the chart calls r and b with people sounding like recently castrated hampsters. I think r and b died many years ago!! Bring back Motown!! I like chlassics such as walking in memphis and pretty much every stones song. I would not call myself ignorant, in fact I would call myself open minded. I also think Alicia Keys as an amzing singer, having been to one of her concerts a few weeks ago. On the other hand I dislike Lionna Lewis, she is completely overrated and is manufactured, also hate manufactured bands. Although I once was a fan of the spice girls, when I was a teenager!!! Love Kylie too, as you can tell my tastes are very broad. I have recently discovered a band called Bokaata, a Cmabridge based band, they are on myspace if you want to check them out. I think that euroope has very odd tatses and think terry wogan sums up the eurovision song contest perfectly with his witty and humourous comments, he is a legend!! Although I don't think europe would understand it somehow. I think the eurovision is a joke, and I think most of the UK would agree with me!

Yes I am calling you ignorant. Or atleast what you posted as being ignorance. There is plenty of good music from throughout the world, just because it isn't to your personal taste doesn't mean they aren't good and that others won't like them. I could name hundreds of acts I don't personally like, from all over the globe, but I could make a case for why people would like every single one of them.

And yes, Eurovision is seen a joke within the UK, which is exactly the reason why we never do well. For someone from Eastern Europe to represent your country at the Eurovision Song Contest is an HONOUR. To find someone to represent the UK you have to go right to the bottom of the barrel and find the biggest scraper you can to try and find something!

What I am posting it totally logical, although people have a right to an opinion. I guess everyone has different tastes in music, and alot of music today is alot of pants to be frank. I think music ins't experimental enough and sounds as if artists don't know what direction to take. It is like music is stuck in a rut and people who are in the charts who have very little talent are getting through. I think people are less fussy when it comes to music, Lily Allen for example is average and all these wanna be r and b artists in America. They are the types of people who chavs like, with their cavvy r and b music on their mobile phones, thinking they are cool!!

Was it just me or were nearly all the women majorly HOT last night?
