hmmm, hard to know where I stand on this. As a batty boy myself, I've been known to attempt to dance to Beenie Man and Busta Rhymes in clubs. Yes, they may be homophobic tw**s but I do kinda agree that it's the song that matters. But then again, I am torn because if, say, Will Young or Elton John ever did a song slating black people, would that be tolerated? Hell, no. And rightly so. So why is not seen quite as bad the other way round?

 

As for the Busta/Linkin Park song, it ain't much cop anyway in my opinion.

It’s a sad fact that homophobia is still endemic even in the Western World in 2008.

 

I personally will not buy anything produced by these homophobes but that is a personal choice. At the end of the day it is a case of personal choice and as long as the song doesn’t contain hate lyrics then people should be free to download the songs they like. However songs with hate lyrics should be banned from sites like iTunes for sure.

 

Sadly Busta Rhymes was well overdue a big hit and it looks like it will be a serious contender for the top spot in the coming weeks.
