Does anyone else agree with me that to award them on copies shipped, rather than actual sales is daft nowadays, given how easily sales can be totalled by barcode?

 

It's especially irrelevant for downloads of course.

Oh well, its becoming irrelevant now.

I think they used shipping totals because actual sales were protected by confidentiality agreements.
