I liked Wanted but that was all - their other songs were terrible

Every time you tell a lie"

When I was a kid, a "dooley" was a nickname for a bogey, snot, phlegm......

You can imagine how hilarious we found a group called "The Dooleys"......

....And they were toe-curlingly AWFUL.... :P

nah... i said that i thought their material was good pop, imho the best of the manufactured acts, but i didnt buy any s c j/8 albums (nor download any)...lol.

tbh i thought it was funny that they could manufacture a bunch of kids into the charts!

anyway, enough of them, they aint retro and no doubt tigerboy will use this to continue bickering over trivia. <_<

  • 2 weeks later...

'Wanted', (1979), sounded like ABBA, & I liked it a lot.

I also liked 'The Chosen Few' - the follow-up.

There was also 'And I Wish' - where they Sing the Title at least 100

times in the Song, & that reminded me of parts of 'Take A Chance On Me'.

'Love Patrol' was good too.

Overall though, I was not grabbed by The Dooleys! (Ouch!) :w00t:

They were more a cabaret act than a pure pop act.

They were a real family of brothers and sisters apart from bassist Bob Walsh

The sisters were Ann & Kathy (vocals) and Helen on Keyboard.

The were from the Manchester area and played the biggest night clubs in the country.

Their other chart hits were:

Don't Take It Lying Down - #60 - 1978

Body Language - #46 - 1980

And I Wish - #52 in 1981
