June 11, 200817 yr Author Mawnin TT - thanks for bringing it over. I don't look for great comments from the press for Will so I'm not disappointed :P This one's not too bad as the Sun goes - sit tight for a bumpy ride  I agree munchkin. We have to take the rough with the smooth. I'm sure it's water off a duck's back to Will. :)
June 11, 200817 yr I just said to Toni on D that if the first one is in any way negative then the rest will follow suit because they all steal from each other. If the Sun hadn't mentioned The Vortex I doubt anyone else would have. That's 'journalism' for you

June 11, 200817 yr This one doesn't - well done DS - but they've got Biff's name wrong and the album is finished - oh well - we can't have everything - and they have mentioned his summer gigs  From Digital Spy Will Young hires Spice Girls songwriter Wednesday, June 11 2008, 11:17 BST By Alex Fletcher, Entertainment Reporter http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/08/10/160x120_rex_741388y.jpg Rex Features Will Young has enlisted Spice Girls songwriter Biff Standard to work on his new album. The Pop Idol winner is currently working on the follow-up to 2005's Keep On LP. Standard's writing credits include the Spice Girls' number one single '2 Become 1' and Kylie Minogue's 'Love At First Sight'. A source told The Sun: "Will wants his return to be spectacular - and, by working with Biff, he’s going about it the right way." Young is scheduled to play at T In The Park, Bestival and Glastonbury Festival this summer. __________________ Thanks to Sanellen on D. Edited June 11, 200817 yr by munchkin
June 11, 200817 yr Author Was just about to bring that over. Well done to DS for their factual reporting. I'll forgive them getting Biff's name wrong. As you say munchkin we can't have everything. Musicweek were more keen to emphasise the link with Eg White. Wonder if Steve Lipson is still the overall producer. Edited June 11, 200817 yr by truly talented

Wonder if Steve Lipson is still the overall producer. Like his previous albums he seems to be working with various musicians who produce their own tracks too. I think the Sun has just picked up on the Stannard connection because of Kylie - although Eg is very much more 'current' with his numerous recent collaborations. As you've said Will worked with Biff and Julian way back in 2002/3 on his first album. Maybe he has "Let Go" of Lippy too  Edited June 11, 200817 yr by munchkin

I know a lot of fans have voiced concern about some of Will's tracks being overproduced so we could well get a much more raw sound this time. I think we are going to see lots of changes. :)
June 11, 200817 yr Lipson is still producing some tracks according to this website HERE Thanks for bringing the snippets over munchkin and TT
June 11, 200817 yr Looks like you may be getting your wish Slick. From the Sun. Young wants to Spice up his life It's nice to have positive press about the new music but the Sun has never been known for it's accurate reporting. We all know Will has worked with Biff Stannard before on his first album & the reviews for the Vortex were mixed. In fact if they were to look back in their archives they find they actually said this. HERE IS THE END BIT OF BILL HAGERTY'S REVIEW IN THE SUN DATED 26.01.07: "WILL'S TIMING WAS SPOT-ON, PULLING OFF HIS COMIC LINES AND DELIVERING A SOBBING ENDING WITH SHEER PROFESSIONALISM. HIS STAGE FUTURE IS ASSURED."[/quote] Looks promising :cheer:
June 11, 200817 yr Author Lipson is still producing some tracks according to this website HERE Thanks for bringing the snippets over munchkin and TT Thanks for the link sunday. I see Steve Lipson is doen as the Executive Producer on FNO & KO but just the Producer on FC & the new album. Is the executive producer the overall one? Isn't it brilliant to be discussing the music again. :D
June 11, 200817 yr Author Thanks to Ros n Devoted. Googling just now I've come across this guy with a few mentions of playing on Will's 'next cd' which I can't remember being posted before: http://www.simonhale.co.uk/news2008.html Will still sounds as if he's very much hands on. ;)

June 11, 200817 yr Thanks for the Lippy link Sunday. I do remember seeing that now - but had forgotten. I think Exec Producer just oversees the completion of the album rather than working on and producing individual tracks. Simon Hale's comments weeded out thanks to Mary on D: Quote: March Added keyboards to a song for Will Young’s next CD for Biff Stannard. Almost straight after did a string and brass session for Stephen Lipson also for Will’s CD! Recorded at Sarm West with Tim Weidner. Quote: April Played keyboards on another song for Will Young’s next CD again with Biff Stannard and Ash Howes Quote: May Added strings and brass to another song on Will Young’s next CD. Produced by Biff Stannard and Ash Howes and recorded at Angel Studios with Niall Acott. Will came down too for the recording – it’s always great to see the artist attend the orchestral sessions. :D I think we are going to see lots of changes. Oh yes. Hi Lukuzz and Slick - thanks for visiting Edited June 11, 200817 yr by munchkin
June 11, 200817 yr Amazing news :) Not keen on the album title, but it will surely grow on me if the song "Let go" is a pop smash tune! lol
June 11, 200817 yr I am so glad Will is releasing a new album this year - that makes 3 of my favourite artists ever releasing new albums in one year! Hi TT :hi:
June 12, 200817 yr Author I am so glad Will is releasing a new album this year - that makes 3 of my favourite artists ever releasing new albums in one year! Hi TT :hi: Coldplay & Will. Whose the third Matt? Must get round to buying the new album, love X & Y.
June 12, 200817 yr Amazing news :) Not keen on the album title, but it will surely grow on me if the song "Let go" is a pop smash tune! lol Hi Bertie. We've been discussing the significance of the title too. We'll know in time whether it's from one of the tracks or has some special meaning for him. Hi Matt :hi: Edited June 12, 200817 yr by munchkin
