Family guy for me

The simpsons has never made me LOL but i have enjoyed it. I was a Simpsons fanatic back in the day.

Famiy guy has more memorable quotes and moments throughout it's current nine year run

The simpsons has sadly run too long and is no longer watchable.

It's gotta be Family Guy for me. I love The Simpsons too, but Family Guy works better for me because it is so completely irreverent, it can do or say virtually anything and it's funny. The Simspons obviously has more restrictions due to it being a more family friendly show and whatnot so that isn't really its fault.

Plus the Star Trek/Star Wars gags in Family Guy are enough to win me over.

Simpsons overall as I've loved that for ages- Family Guy I've only got into recently, but I must admit its funnier than the Simpsons frequently

It's hard to really put these shows against each other to say which is the best as they are very different shows aimed at different demographics.

It would be a fair discussion if it was Family Guy Vs South Park.

I love both. It depends what era of Simpsons. Old Simpsons would beat Family Guy tbh, but the newer Simpsons aren't that good :( FG is funnier though!
The Simpsons hands down. Family Guy is hideously overrated.

Completely changed my mind now. Family Guy is amazing and even now after 9 seasons is better than Simpsons.

Family Guy.

The Simpsons has ruined itself by becoming absolutely $h!te the last few seasons. FG is still as good as it ever was on season 9.

Incorrect. I challenge you to try and say something as televisually dire as German Guy was has ANYTHING on the first four/five seasons.

I still prefer Family Guy, but there's no question that it's been on a steep downhill curve for the last three or so seasons. It jumped the shark when they first used the Conway Twitty gag - really the Star Wars parodies have been the only truly great episodes since.

I don't think Family Guy has truly jumped the shark yet, it's certainly been a downhill run for a while now, but it's much stronger at this stage in the game than The Simpsons was.

Conway Twitty <3 One time they used him for like whole 3 minutes in an episode. It was way too much.

The s09e01 is probably the best Family Guy episode. Certainly not 'jumped the shark' so far.

Then what do you call German Guy?

Then what do you call German Guy?

Well yeah i disliked this one quite a bit too, but surely every show has its bad episodes?!

Except German Guy was monumentally terrible and very representative of what the show's become - something with the odd amusing joke but mainly padded out with ridiculously long filler and anti-humour and the loss of all semblance of proper plotting as a result.
The Simpsons is my favourite TV show ever, bar none.
Neither is exactly American Dad!

FUCKING FABULOUS. The best of them left, and TERMINALLY underrated.

Family Guy > American Dad > The Simpsons

American Dad is at the minute more consistent that Family Guy, but still lacks some of the amazing highs that it still manages to deliver, so for the time being I still prefer Family Guy overall.

Simpsons. I like Family Guy, but its cultural impact isn't even on the same level. The average television fan could name maybe up to ten Family Guy characters, The Simpsosn has probably thirty. The early to middle seasons were consistently funny as hell. The show as a whole ranks only behind "Friends" for me in terms of sitcoms, animated or otherwise.

Oh, and Homer Simpson is the greatest comic creation ever.

What about Futurama? :D

Friends is TERRIBLE. :puke: [/unpopularopinion]
