Chart Commentary
Hooray for long-running number ones! Just shortly after seeing a massive 8-weeker finally slip from its throne, we're treated to another 3-week number one! With relative ease, Infadels manage to sustain their stay at the top as they continue to supply poor people with free things. Their reign could come under serious threat next week however, as the excellent 'Left Behind' looks set to give chart debutants CSS their debut no.1. I loved the song from first listen pretty much, and it's continually growing on me with each listen so watch this space. A brand new entry at no.4 is a bit of an odd one. 'Viva La Vida' (the title track from Coldplay's superb new album) has entered the top 5 without a full release. However, it has already charted and is gaining massive interest so an official release could become imminent in the coming weeks and I can confirm that if this does happen, it will be a serious contender for no.1 as it's my fave track from the new album. Only time will tell. Mystery Jets and MGMT both slip but manage to remain in the top 5. Not much happening elsewhere in all honesty. Last Shadow Puppets, Black Kids, Coldplay and We Are Scientists all suffer varying falls from their previous positions, the latter of which could fall out of the chart next week. The Wombats break up the monotony of plummets by staying firmly put at no.8 with the good-but-not-great 'Kill The Director', their 3rd consecutive TotB hit, but the only one to date which has failed to enter the top 3

Commentary
At last a new entry at number 1 to dislodge Mystery Jets' vice-like grip at the top of the album chart. The stupidly long-titled 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' sees Coldplay's much-anticipated return to the charts, and it really is very good. My only complaint is that a few of the songs could very easily pass off as rejects from 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head', and Coldplay also fall into the trap of sounding a bit too much like U2 for comfort in places. But like i've said, it's a very good album and is deserving of its place at the top. This means current album of the year 'Twenty One' slips a place to 2, just ahead of Futureheads. MGMT's 'Oracular Spectacular' slips heavily to 4, but with summer well and truly with us there's a good chance it'll climb back up in the coming weeks. The ever-present Los Campesinos slip to 5, and their chart stay could be cut short with a couple of new entries in the next few weeks. The first of which, Infadels album, could make its chart entry next week.

I like Coldplay and CSS, though I haven't heard all of those songs! We Are Scientists have decreased in quality I find.
