Posted May 31, 200619 yr If the record company had NOT decided to Delete CRAZY. Do you think that it would have overtaken Bryan Adams record of 16 consecutive weeks at #1 from 1991 with Everything I Do??? If it's still number 1 this week it will equal that of Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You in 1992. The last time a single spent 10 weeks at #1. The only other single to spend exactly 10 weeks at #1 was David Whitfield - Cara Mia in 1954. Edited May 31, 200619 yr by Euro Music
May 31, 200619 yr Nope, the decline in sales would've meant it fell after around 11-12 weeks. Especially with all the World Cup songs coming out now.
May 31, 200619 yr No way, it was already well below the number of sales normally needed to make number one.
May 31, 200619 yr I think if it was #1 this week it would be its final week on top. Could've scraped an extra couple of weeks if it wasnt for all the world cup $h!t.
May 31, 200619 yr No way, it was already well below the number of sales normally needed to make number one. Erm, no it was about average or even up, I hasnt dipped below 35k, which is slightly above the average nowadays. I would say 11 weeks max without deletion!

Once it dipped below 45k it was on borrowed time IMO -_- 35-40k is a good average, if a number 1 sells more than 35k, its pretty good for these days in my book. I agree that Gnarls was on the way out after it dipped below 45k, but im sure it could of managed another week or 2 if not deleted. ^_^
May 31, 200619 yr I'm not disputing that, I think it would've made up to about 11 weeks. Still, the sales are very low for this time of year and I would've expected them to pick up by now.

May 31, 200619 yr I agree with your point, sales should be picking up, but they just arent  I know  The download revolution was supposed to make sales increase <_<
May 31, 200619 yr I think it would have stopped at 9 weeks or 10...11 at a very long stretch...no longer than that.
May 31, 200619 yr I think it would have stopped at 9 weeks or 10...11 at a very long stretch...no longer than that. Spot on.
May 31, 200619 yr I know  The download revolution was supposed to make sales increase <_< As someone else pointed out before, with physicals, there are a hundred or more to choose from at a given time, but with downloads, well, it must run into the tens or hundreds of thousands to choose from, possibly even more. So I think sales are healthy, it's just that it is being spread out across a far larger field. For example, I recently noticed Bohemian Rhapsody lurking in the download top 50 chart.
