Really?! :o Can't wait if that's true!

It is, cant wait either!!!

Great, I haven't seen her on TV for a while.

I'm not in to watch it. :drama:

But I'll catch up with it on 40D tomorrow :D

GOOD GOD THIS WAS BAD

I know I was negative towards her earlier in this thread but I didn't expect the new series to begin so awfully. She sang the beginning bit of the show horribly out of tune, the following jokes/clichés weren't funny. It was just a load of rubbish. It's a shame, I do think she's capable of more.

Too much of it is utterly vacuous/cringeworthy. Ripping off other shows too; notably Shooting Stars.

I completely disagree. I thought it was a really good series opener.

You can tell how much more relaxed she has got at presenting over the three series, so it is easy to see why Jonathan Ross thinks she could be the heir to his throne, and she is a much better host than Davina McCall & (the worst TV show of 2008 so far) Lily Allen.

She is definitely the new Cilla Black (only a far better singer). And that is a compliment.

I think that next to Beverley Knight, Charlotte sounded very average to say the least.

I don't know what I thought about the show either, she did seemed very relaxed but I don't think she's suits presenting. She reminds me of Ant & Dec, in that she seems script-funny and not naturally funny - not a compliment. I feel she does have that desperate sense of humour about her, so I can see why she'd be a good replacement for Jonathon Ross.

What aspects of it were actually good though? Charlotte is incredibly unnatural in front of a camera. Her reading off of the autocue was abysmal (esp in the opening segment). She sang the new (lyrically banal) themetune out of tune. The sketches were for the most part (bar the Hollyoaks one) p*** poor and totally unfunny. Look at the Army sketch. 1) Nothing very much happened in it. 2) It was totally unbelieveable. These are people who need to be able to notice insurgents from great distances off and people who might intersect their base. She was quite obviously a woman by just looking at her form. Her voice rose back to near normal too after only a few lines. It was just all entirely unbelievable.

Her interviewing technique remains awful too. You cannot deny her interaction with guests is hideous. She fires the questions off her cue cards with little banter in return. It's more of a questionnaire. She clearly made her guests feel uncomfortable on several occasions. The whole pushing them to do accents was cringeworthy viewing. Church needs to know her borders with interviewing, not push what she thinks is right. It comes across as ill-driven and crass.

She NEEDS to stop trying so hard to be funny, especially when you have two professional comedians on your show. It came across as desperate and forced. She's a singer not a comedian! The overtly scripted nature of the programme left the whole thing stifled and comically-sterile really. None of what she said was really LOL now was it?

Too much of the show is made up of continuous clichés, stereotypes and lowest common denominator segments. I think Cilla would be offended at your comparison. The difference in onscreen-persona are 10 fold +

I loved it, I actually thought the army sketch was hilarious  especially when she couldn't find which line she came from
Missed Thursdays, but will watch this week :)
I turnt off after the army sketch that was AWFUL.

The show is al right, but when she sings it's a real PUT OFF. And it's becoming less funnier each ep.
