Posted July 2, 200817 yr Confirmed by TheHeadlessPostman on Say Hey. Oh and expect an announcement that Kylie is leaving EMI soon. Edited July 2, 200817 yr by Red Blooded Man
July 2, 200817 yr Author I really hope this isn't true. That would be terrible if it is. Which one? Is it no physical and video that makes it terrible or her leaving EMI? There are rumours that she is going to Universal. Universal would be good, they are the only decent record company left. The problem I have with Universal is that they have some artists I don't like such as PCD and Rihanna (and oh don't prove me right that Kylie is going to have a duet with them!) Annie Lenox helped Sony selling 80 million records yet they ditched her last year, in order words, Sony doesn't have much respect for their artists either. But I do have a feeling that she is signing to Warner Music. I mean, they got a huge sum of money by selling Madonna so I am sure that they can afford Kylie!

EMI ruined her 'X' album which is by far her best album yet: they released the tuneless '2 hearts' as the first single' and the boring 'All i see' as the first release in the US after a belated and disasterous promo campaign....and they completetly ignored what is by far the best track on 'X' 'Like a drug'....which could've been easily a great comeback single.
July 2, 200817 yr Author Although I agree with what you said, I still stand my opinion that 2H is the second best lead single from her, better than Spinning Around. Plus, thanks for posting the link for me, I will have a look at it later. ^_^
July 2, 200817 yr EMI are useless atm, which is probably the reason artists are leaving left right and centre. I hope she doesn't go to Warners though, they have been so tight in releasing stuff from Madonna (i don't know if it's their fault or Madonnas teams fault) but still, i'm glad she's leaving Warners ( :offtopic: :D ) Back to Kylie though. If she leaves I hope she goes to Universal. They have them nice rounded CD cases :P thats a good a reason as any! Edited July 2, 200817 yr by Glyn
July 2, 200817 yr EMI need a slap in the face and kylie is right to leave them. they did not handle X very well at all. much as i love 2 hearts it should not have been the lead single, wow or like a drug would be more sensible. dont even get mke started on the usa and all i see . and finally, the one better get a full release with video, cd single and promo, its such a great song and does not deserve not to have a full single release. i hope she does go with Universal as Anastacia has signed with them and they are a decent company who will handle kylie with some respect. rant over
July 2, 200817 yr The way kylies record company have treated X i wouldn't be suprised if she was a bit peed off . I know it's not entirely their fault, but they just don't seem to care about any of their artists anymore. Remember Robbie vs EMI last year...
July 2, 200817 yr I'm really annoyed the physical release has been cancelled, and the download won't even be chart eligible! I am glad she is leaving EMI, they have completely ruined her career.
July 2, 200817 yr to be fair emi have done alot with kylie lets not forget the fever era alone and she has had alot of top 10 singles with them however they have messed up the x project alot wael lead single and now the one not getting a phyiscal release is just pathetic, the one has been the most talked about kylie song on x and its crying out to get a single release althoug hhmv have it on pre order for £2.99 if kylie does leave that means we will get a best of from parlphone but is kylie's contract up with emi???

Thats true, but the bosses at EMI now are not the same bosses that were there during the days of Fever. It's a completely different company now :( I think her contract finished with X
July 2, 200817 yr We seem to be forgetting it was EMI (Parlophone) that signed her back in 99/00, when she was at rock botton and on one would think twice to sign a 'has been'. EMI have really done wonders with Kylie, and I think it's entirely unfair to slag them off just because they didn't choose to release your personal favorite track of her current album. I personally feel they have released the 4 most sensible tracks off her album. But I'm all for change. EMI are struggling massively and the way they've been handling their biggest artists of late has been heavily publicised. Radiohead left EMI to sign with highly established label XL (home to Basement Jaxx, Adele, White Stripes) as they felt like they were treated as generic stock by EMI. It wouldn't ever happen, but it would be kinda cool if Kylie would sign with an indie label and shock us all! Edited July 2, 200817 yr by ScottyEm
July 2, 200817 yr if her contract eneded with X she is more than likely to change record company and universal wud be likely,i agree emi have done alot for kylie but releasing 2 hearts as first single was a mistake and i think 90% of kylie fans wud agree with that, wow and in my arms were good choices but i think if theone wa shandled properly it wud be a big hit and wud add sales to X also. If she does leave im sure emi will release a best of including all the emi hits usually when artists leave a record company a greatest hits is usually the note they leave on,if this were to happen do u think a best of wud do well considering how well ultimate kylie did???

No, that would flop like Jamelia's one did. It wouldn't ever happen, but it would be kinda cool if Kylie would sign with an indie label and shock us all! It would be cool indeed. ^_^
July 3, 200817 yr I hope they dont do another greatest hits BUT it wouldnt suprise me if they did get cash in on Kylie as a brand to get some money back Edited July 3, 200817 yr by Dannyboy
July 3, 200817 yr she should leave her label now... so OK EMI stood by her when she needed them back in 1999, but now she doesn't need them at all... she is one of the biggest pop icons in the world... and she could score huge hits with any label.... maybe she should do her own label. she has enough money to do it.
July 3, 200817 yr I hope she leaves EMI but I really hope they don't attack her back catalogue...again...sick of Kylie greatest hits. A B-side compilation would be lovely though...hint hint... Edited July 4, 200817 yr by seejayjee
