Who else said they wanted Ace of Base? The whole situation has completely passed me by as I was away. :(

Addy! did. I'm pretty sure that the rule is someone can express interest in using a certain artist, but if someone else officially confirms them before you there's nothing anyone can do about it. It's not in good taste but it's allowed.

Ooh yes... that is true. I'm not even sure what is happening regarding the reservation of artists in this contest either, but if Mikey got there first and Addy hadn't officially "reserved" them, then yes, Mikey is allowed. Tbh though I don't think Mikey knows this furore is even happening haha.
Addy withdrew from the competition because of that -_- So it doesn't matter whether Mikey know about it or not :rolleyes:

Addy, there are trillions of other artists to choose from, just because Martin confirmed one of ten acts that you were considering doesn't mean you should pull out :o think of someone better and beat him at his own game :lol:

you won't come last with that...you'll get points from the 'more respectable music lovers' like RabbitFurCoat, Jonny, Jester and a few others, points from Johnjo and most likely points from moi, depending on what semi you get drawn into of course (although I can vote in both :P)

The point of the reservation rule is that you can't confirm an artist if someone else has reserved them :P The Serebro war was the trigger for this rule :heehee:

When you announce someone being in your NF it basically means that they're reserved for at least a week - if no further advance is made after a week then all reserved artists are void and they can't complain - so the only way that Mart!n would be allowed to have chosen Ace of Base would be if Addy! hadn't done anything with his NF for a week after announcing Ace of Base as being in his NF - basically, this is to stop complaints about people hogging loads of artists etc.
Where have people "reserved" artists though?

Yeah I thought that if people wanted to reserve artists then they had to do it in this thread? :unsure:

I announced how the reservation thing would work somewhere in the temporary thread I think, the only problem is that some people just seem to only come in to do stuff relevant to them as opposed to reading announcements etc. :(

I think it should be the same rule for everyone no matter if they follow the temporary confirmation thread or not :heehee: So i think we shouldn't allow this situation with Ace Of Base, it'd mean that that topic we created for reserving artists is just a waste of money talking, writing, etc etc :mellow:
